Hi!

I've decided to represent you my MOC - Hummer HX concept, it is not new & I'm sure, most of you have seen some of its photo last spring) So, the model was built for "4x4 trophy contest, 2014", some time later I've made some modifications - the chrome version & it is still standing on my shelf...)

The model was built in 1:14 scale, it has fully independent front & rear suspension (as 1:1 HX has), AWD, led lights, XL motor for AWD, servo - for steering, complete interior, openable doors & easy removable body...

Model measures:

Wheel base - 187 mm

Length - 310 mm

Width - 144 mm

Height - 128 mm

P.S. May be I should have published it right after the contest, but I couldn't find time to do it cause of another global projects, sorry))) Hope you'll like it)

So, here's the photos:

Isn't that placement of the steering rack, in front of the wheels with backwards pointing steering arms, creating some strange steering geometry (inverted Ackerman?) where the inner wheel is turning less than the outer wheel? Maybe it doesn't matter due to the general flimsiness of Lego, or have I simply misunderstood something?

Otherwise great moc!

Thank you all for your kind words)

There's no inverted Ackerman) But I use this scheme at my models with front independent suspensions intentionally cause it allows to save trajectory & parallelism of the front wheels, so they don't scatter one from other cause of lego ball blacklashes

Although I don't like Hummers at all, I must admire your work. Densely packed and compact, that's really a good build. And I like the model team look it has.

@Jeka Jackson, I had that same idea for the front! Turning the black gear housing piece sideways so that there was more room for the CV joint. What piece did you use for that? Part #48496, or #87408? Overall, great job! It is one of the best hummer chassis I have seen with those specific wheels, although I have seen others...

Not too complicated, yet great design. I will use this for inspiration!
