The Chosen Minifigure Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 "Aye", said Warlen. At the adventure reaction, he was reminded of the time he had met one of the six veterans of Heroica. That seemed so long ago, now. He smiled, just a touch. Turning to Vindsval, he said "Nice work, Vindy! That's some great booty right there. And an Emerald? Phoooo! Nice." Quote

Annienal replies somewhat hastily. She wasn't really sure what to make of the grove and it's past, but she was at least content knowing Virgil was at peace with his brother's death. She nods in agreement in heading back to town. She looks curiously at Warlen, still not sure what to make of him. We all got our jobs done and everything came together. Very bloody. Quite fun." Quote
KotZ Posted March 10, 2015 Author Posted March 10, 2015 "Virgil, you didn't respond when I asked you about this telescope. Were you wanting it? I mean, I assumed it's your brother's and all..." "No, Miss Knight, you can keep it," Virgil tells the lady. "It did belong to Lyle, but I'd rather-and I think we would too- someone keep using it out there in the world. I was able to see him at peace because of this lotus, and it was beautiful. I think you would do well with this telescope. Please keep it, I would be honored if you did." The party continues their travels throughout the night. Vindsval's feelings were correct; there were eyes watching them. But if they were dangerous ones, they did not come close. Those eyes knew the ones walking back to Tridentia were the more dangerous ones. Maybe it was the golden lotus protecting the party, or the Wanderer or Warlen's antimagic scroll. Whatever it was, the party was left undisturbed. None of the painters talked as they walked back. They had their plant, and they had seen their fair share of bloodshed. Yet there was still work to be done. The sun was just above the treeline as the Heroes came back into town. There was no hint of raiders or pirates, or even a spider. "And look who has returned, and in one piece it seems," the mayor William Morris announces to the villagers milling about as the party comes to the center of town. "I don't think we could ever doubt the Heroes of Heroica, sweetheart," Lacy replies as she wipes her hands on her apron as she exits their home. "We certainly did pick the best," Fabio says before moving his eyes over to the female Heroes, but before his eyes can reach the women, Rose sharply jabs Fabio in the ribs. "Without them, we would not have found the golden lotus." Javier goes over to William and shakes his hand in thanks. "Thank you for allowing us to use your island to search for this mythical flower. It will surely be helpful." "I took only a part of the flower, and we left the rest in this old lair we found it in. If nature wills it to grow, it will. Hopefully it does. It truly is magical. Healing is a part of its qualities." "Fascinating," William replies wide-eyed. "And to think that was on our own little island. Now, I want to hear it from the Heroes themselves. Just another story to tell the kids as they grow of the amazing Heroes of Heroica." Quote
The Chosen Minifigure Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 (edited) Warlen grinned. Elves knew how to spin a story, exaggerate any and all elements. "Our tale begins, my dear fellows, when 5 heroes sailed to a distant Island. Their mission? Find a legendary bloom, and slay a vile monster. When they arrived on the Island, they were greeted by the locals, friendly people who sold them fine wares. But then!" Warlens face became deadly serious. "They were attacked by a group of vile, villainous villians! The battle went badly, until the mage defeated all but one: the leader. Then teamwork prevailed, and they defeated their enemies. After venturing through a graveyard, and after many hours of travel, the company arrived at an Orchard. Beautiful though it was, the 5 heroes soon encountered panicking animals, thrust viciously from their home by the beast. With heavy hearts, the heroes ended their suffering." Warlen looked all about the group, captivated to various degrees by his tale. "Then, venturing forward, the group final encounters the beast. A giant crab, it was, ten, twenty, even thirty times the size of a man. Each of the heroes was absolutely essential in the battle: If not for the Healing of the Cleric, The power of the Barbarian, The Spelks of the Mage, The range of the Ranger, and the durability of the mighty Knight, prevailing would have been..." The word hung on his lips. All leaned in to hear it. "Impossible." As they leaned back out, Warlen concluded his tale. "In the heat of victory, the heroes jested, joked, grinned and blushed." he winked at Annie with the last one. "And then? They found the item of their search: the mighty, magical, mysterious golden lotus! One among them had a vision, and it brought peace to his heart. They returned victorious to the village, happy and merry. One word described them all..." he raised his voice. "Awesome." Upon seeing the others looks of disbelief, he hastily added "And heroes. Heroes." Edited March 10, 2015 by The Chosen Minifigure Quote
