KotZ Posted February 1, 2015 Author Posted February 1, 2015 The ship sets off towards the south, bringing two returning heroes to the land of their first quest. Finally the ship arrives in Tridentia at the docks. Now, the docks are filled with tradeships. There's even some militia raiding a smugglers' ship. Fabio leads the Heroes into the town square of Tridentia. The place is bustling. People are milling about and selling wares. More importantly the color is still here. "Ah, brother, you've returned," a redheaded man calls out as the party approach. "We were worried you had gone missing." His eyes flick to the Heroes. "And you've brought help. Finally." "Javier and I were worried sick." "Don't worry, Rose," Fabio gently says. "And as you see, I've brought the Heroes. Rose and Javier, meet Vindsval, Miderun, Warlen, Actaeon, and Annienal. They will be the brave, beautiful souls to help us recover the gold lotus." "They're going to need more than bravery if they want to recover the gold lotus," a gruff voice remarks. "Heroes, hopefully this threat is gone but if it is not, we could not take the risk to lose any of us. We are not nearly as brave as you. Do you have any questions?" "We're so sorry about what happened to your brother, Virgil. But you both knew what you signed up for." "No we didn't. We thought we were getting paid to go find a silly plant for some stupid mural. Instead, one of us lost our heads. My younger brother at that! How can I tell his bride-to-be that Lyle is now... how would you say?" "Lost his head over her?" The explorer glares at Fabio. Quote

Kintobor Posted February 1, 2015 Posted February 1, 2015 With a laugh like the surf breaking over boulders he yells. LET US BE OFF FOR TRIDENTIA, THE PATH IS BEFORE US. If the Wanderer wills may the wind and sun be at our backs and our Journey Straight. Annienal covers her ears as the Half Giant yells suddenly. "Um, sorry, I wasn't expecting you to yell suddenly." Annienal did nothing but pace on the boat during the entirety of the trip, her mind racing about, trying to not think about the monster guarding the flower. Reaching Tridentia, she at least felt better than on the boat. "Heroes, hopefully this threat is gone but if it is not, we could not take the risk to lose any of us. We are not nearly as brave as you. Do you have any questions?" "We're so sorry about what happened to your brother, Virgil. But you both knew what you signed up for." "Ehehe, yeah, of course." Annienal replies half heartedly. She wasn't ready for a monster with vorpal abilities. "I, um, do have to question where this flower is, or at least where you think it is? What kind of terrain should we expect?" Annienal looks around the city. Why couldn't they just stay here? Vindsval strides down the dock to meet with his employer and those around him. I thank you for the welcome, it is good to return to these shores. And good to see that the color remains to you. "Wait, so the colour to this place went missing? Can, um, someone explain what happened last time you were here? I, um, don't want to be left out of the loop." Quote
CMP Posted February 1, 2015 Posted February 1, 2015 Miderun peered around the familiar town. It felt good to see the place in such a better state. "Wait, so the colour to this place went missing? Can, um, someone explain what happened last time you were here? I, um, don't want to be left out of the loop." "It was some hermit's plan to have the people of Tridentia removed. He took the color from the berries to make it not worth staying. He also raised many uzard and attempted to wipe out the village when all else failed. Me and Vind helped put a stop to it." "No we didn't. We thought we were getting paid to go find a silly plant for some stupid mural. Instead, one of us lost our heads. My younger brother at that! How can I tell his bride-to-be that Lyle is now... how would you say?" "You should've expected danger. Been more careful. Olag azh zor kah sarosh muzr. Now what is this monster we have to kill?" Master Fabio tells us we ar eto find a divine flower, and to end the terror of a beast. Directed at Javier. What can you tell us of this flower? To Virgil, What can you tell us of this Beast? "It supposedly can heal people with just small doses, but me and my company are not interested in that. We're more interested in the rich color of the flower. According to who we're painting for, the flower may even be able to heal as it's painted on the walls. Spooky, if you ask me." "It was huge! There were the large claws," the explorer explains as he trembles. "There was a large tail, or what I think was a tail, that swung to and from with such force it knocked some of the trees down around us. We didn't even see if the flower was there. This beast just crawled out of the forest. It's right claw just snipped my brother's head off, like a florist would snip a rose." "Is that supposed to be directed at me?" Rose shot a glare at Virgil. "I, um, do have to question where this flower is, or at least where you think it is? What kind of terrain should we expect?" Annienal looks around the city. Why couldn't they just stay here? "You should've expected danger. Been more careful. Olag azh zor kah sarosh muzr. Now what is this monster we have to kill?" "We were able to get out into the forest pretty far out. Past the old orchard and cemetery. We were maybe an hour's walk from them or so when the beast came down upon us." "Vindsval? Miderun?" a familiar voice calls out as a man exits his house. "Is it really you two? What are you doing here?" The tailor walks up to the party and sees the other Heroes. "More Heroes? Pleased to meet you, I'm William Morris, the mayor of Tridentia." William turns around and calls into the house he just came from. "Sweetheart! Look who it is!" A woman with flaming hair steps out out of the house, her eyes wide and an equally wide grin coming to her face. "Well who would have thought two of our old friends would return to Tridentia?" Quote
Asphalt Posted February 1, 2015 Posted February 1, 2015 Miderun and I have both been to the Orchard and Cemetery. The way to them is both swift and direct. If there is nothing else you can tell us about either the beast or the flower then perhaps we should be off presently. A smile splits his giants face as the two newcomers arrive. William, Lacey, it is wonderful to see you both again. Tell me, how have you fared since we departed? We can see the color has stayed, but how is the village? What of Daniel and the Young Luke, I have thought of him much in the past days. I am very pleased to see you well. No one from the village has been harmed by this beast I hope. Quote
The Chosen Minifigure Posted February 2, 2015 Posted February 2, 2015 As Vindsval reunited with his friends, Warlen asked: "How exactly did it decapitate him? Was it, say, the tail slicing his head off? Or maybe it sent, for example, a bean of light to chop of his neck. Don't go in to to much detail," he added, glancing at Annienal, "just to get an idea." Actaeon Posted February 2, 2015 Posted February 2, 2015 Actaeon glares at Vindsval watching the party leader carefully. I will not allow him to intimidate me or my friends with his size. No one has the right to threaten their fellow party member because of a simple nickname, Actaeon thinks. "Windy, would you like to introduce us to your friends?" Actaeon says with a smile. Quote
Asphalt Posted February 2, 2015 Posted February 2, 2015 Vindsval catches the Windy comment once again, and thinks to himself. I will need to address this it would seem. Indeed, Actaeon, Warlen, Annienal, please allow me to introduce to you two friends from Miderun's and mown first visit to this isle. This is Master William and Mistress Lacey. It was their village which hired us to eliminate the source of a Gray Plague threatening their livelihood. Allowing the others to make their own introductions Vindsval walks over to the Ranger. May I speak with you a moment Master Actaeon? The mage Warlen is rather flippant with the renaming of things. My father's people and those of my Order both believe there to be great power and reverence in a Name. I would ask you that you not lesson me through the use of frivolity and jest. Quote

Moments later, she returns with a wide eyed child, who gives the biggest smile when he sees Vindsval. "Vindsval!" Luke shouts as he scrambles up onto the giant's shoudlers. He looks down, seeing the change to his hero. "What happened to your arm?" "Unfortunately, Daniel passed away a few months ago, so Lacy and I took him in as our own after she and I married. I was elected mayor right after you saved Tridentia, mainly for getting Heroica out here to help. The island has since prospered. And there have been no reports from any villagers of some beasts. We haven't pushed much farther into the forest after the whole sorcerer situation, but we're growing slowly." As Vindsval reunited with his friends, Warlen asked: "How exactly did it decapitate him? "Of course I will join you, but I will not fight. I'll only be your guide." "I'll come along too, in case we find this beast. I want someone to paint me as well. Rose? Javier?" "Fine," they say unanimously. While waiting to hear from his compatriots Vindsval notices the boy luke playing on the beach. He walks down to the boy and pull out his new shovel. "Shall we see if we can find some buried treasure? Perhaps pirates of old left behind their jewels and weapons, just waiting for friends like us to come along and dig them up." He kneels down beside the boy and Digs with his Shovel. Vindsval begins to dig, but before he really can break ground, a loud shout comes from the docks. Yelling ensues, screams of terror. William looks over in that direction, squinting his eyes and trying to see what was coming. "Raiders!" the mayor shouts when he realizes who it is. "Everyone get inside! Lacy, take Luke upstairs and hide in the bedroom. I'll bar the door." He desperately turns to the Heroes. "Please protect the town once more." He runs with his family into his home while other villagers do the same.
