Nalyd997 Posted February 2, 2015 Posted February 2, 2015 'The NZ version' of the black widow! It looks seriously awesome, can't wait to see it finished Quote
Omikron Posted February 2, 2015 Posted February 2, 2015 Kill it with FIRE!!! Before it lays eggs! Quote
rm8 Posted February 2, 2015 Posted February 2, 2015 Wow! So scare to meet this monster in the night, while going to toilet:) Would like to build something like this just for fun:) will it run with 2 buggy motors? Quote
nerdsforprez Posted February 2, 2015 Posted February 2, 2015 Someone read the post a whole ago of not having enough Technic MOCs with wheels a little too seriously..... Quote
miguev Posted February 2, 2015 Posted February 2, 2015 I can't wait for the video to show it to my wife! Preferably late at night Quote
BachAddict Posted February 2, 2015 Author Posted February 2, 2015 Hmm, buggy motors... I might try them while disassembling it. I have geared up the L motors 20-12. The video will have to wait until I'm happy with the abdomen... You may be surprised! Quote
MajklSpajkl Posted February 2, 2015 Posted February 2, 2015 That is really original idea!!! I like it a lot! Quote

darksheep Posted February 3, 2015 Posted February 3, 2015 Wow very cool and creepy , well done. Quote

braker23 Posted February 3, 2015 Posted February 3, 2015 That is truly awesome work, very realistic spider and those legs are wicked :) Quote
Captainowie Posted February 3, 2015 Posted February 3, 2015 Nice to see something that's not a vehicle, and nice to see something that's larger in LEGO than in real life. When I read that there's a 'silk' winch powered by an XL motor, I assumed it'd be suspended from its backside and able to go up and down a string. But walking is good too. Well done. Owen. Quote
MajklSpajkl Posted February 3, 2015 Posted February 3, 2015 Did you use the rubber connectors on the tips pf the legs? It looks like it is slipping a lot... Quote
Nazgarot Posted February 3, 2015 Posted February 3, 2015 Very nice model! I love the originality of it! Would it be possible to use wheels in some way to improve its movement? I suggest using a single wheel moving slowly to help it move as there is a lot of slipping on the inner legs... Keep up the good work! -ED- Quote
miguev Posted February 3, 2015 Posted February 3, 2015 This is awesome and I'd be opposed to letting wheels creep in :D Quote
BachAddict Posted February 3, 2015 Author Posted February 3, 2015 (edited) Thanks for the encouragement everyone! I tried rubber feet, but the legs didn't lift them high enough. The feet are extended inward to support the weight better. It walks better backwards because there's more weight at the back! Edited February 4, 2015 by BachAddict Quote
XAxles Posted February 6, 2015 Posted February 6, 2015 Well, I say this is brilliantly-done. Very, shockingly, terrifyingly, incredibly brilliant spider you made. So, if we were to choose what nightmare to have, this or Sariel's Walking Leyland Mini? I'd have both, please. Quote
BachAddict Posted February 13, 2015 Author Posted February 13, 2015 (edited) The body and the outside panels :) Edited February 13, 2015 by BachAddict Quote
