Buying the sets for the shakos isn't really worth it, because then you have a bunch of crappy pieces you don't want to use (or at least that's me anyway). I bought several of the enlighten sets a few years ago to see them for myself, and they truly are garbage. Of course, what's inside the package looks nothing like what's on the box, and they steal the box art from Lego anyway. One funny thing about them though is that they do have a Chinese military line, so if you're really sick and twisted you could make a Tienneman (spelling) square scene. heh Quote
Admiral Posted January 13, 2008 Posted January 13, 2008 yup i have some of those military line :D theyre quite fun, but the quality of the bricks puts me off combining them with real Lego... Quote

salty tbone Posted January 14, 2008 Posted January 14, 2008 Out of curiousity I looked up Enlighten sets on eBay. One of the sellers had this in the description: "NOT recommended to serious LEGO Collectors." :-P Quote
Col. Whipstick Posted January 15, 2008 Posted January 15, 2008 (edited) Could I live with myself ever buying these? *Checks conscience for about 0.00001 second* Nope! X-D Edited January 15, 2008 by Col. Whipstick Quote
Donut Posted January 16, 2008 Posted January 16, 2008 Out of curiousity I looked up Enlighten sets on eBay. One of the sellers had this in the description:"NOT recommended to serious LEGO Collectors." I stumbled across that too and I believe that this seller used to have another account in which he/she got penalized by AFOLs. As for me, I would take the fake shakos. The prices on BL is just absurd, I can't find justification for buying a piece for more than $3 if it isn't even rare. Quote
tedbeard Posted January 16, 2008 Posted January 16, 2008 ...I can't find justification for buying a piece for more than $3 if it isn't even rare.I beg your pardon?!? If it was NOT rare or limited in numbers it would not be $3. Your comment makes no sense. *wacko* Quote
blueandwhite Posted January 16, 2008 Posted January 16, 2008 It's things like this that make me feel really bad for you Pirate folk :-( . As a purist I would probably never be able to bring myself to buy or use fake bricks like these shakos. At the same time, you guys haven't seen anything Imperial in over a decade. This makes it very expensive (and difficult) to amass a good army. I really feel for you guys. You would think that LEGO would consider dipping into the past and reviving Pirates considering how well Castle is doing. Still, if some of you are fellow purists I would ask you not to give in to the temptation of cheap imitations. There is no substitute for the quality of genuine LEGO. A sorry rabble of LEGO soldiers could easily wipe out a battalion of knockoffs X-D . Quote
