jimmynick Posted February 5, 2015 Posted February 5, 2015 What are you getting at here? I'm getting at you refusing to "play ball" with the rest of us. I said that I include the remote and unlikely possibilities in any given situation as well as the obvious and easy solutions. And yet you were shrieking that you would not become a stump? I don't know if I will become a stump or not. That's not what you were saying earlier. If I don't become a stump, I don't know how you would know my alignment. But you need to consider that a possibility. That's right. But there's nothing we can do in that case. Really, how hard is this?
Lady K Posted February 5, 2015 Posted February 5, 2015 I'm getting at you refusing to "play ball" with the rest of us. And yet you were shrieking that you would not become a stump? That's not what you were saying earlier. That's right. But there's nothing we can do in that case. Really, how hard is this? The only thing here I agree with you on is the last part. So I ask you, could you have not said that earlier? I think it should have been discussed what to do if that was going to be a possibility. If Day 2 is spent entirely developing the codes for talking to stumps, then a discussion should also have taken place about what to do if all lynch alignments were lost.
Fugazi Posted February 5, 2015 Posted February 5, 2015 I think it should have been discussed what to do if that was going to be a possibility. If Day 2 is spent entirely developing the codes for talking to stumps, then a discussion should also have taken place about what to do if all lynch alignments were lost. We cannot shop lynching based on the yet unproven possibility that all lynch alignments are lost. Even then, lynching remains a tool we need to use if we are to make any progress. But your theory even reinforces the idea that we need to seize every opportunity to share information. Therefore the codes. If you really are Oak, you may be in a position to help us greatly tomorrow. If you're Maple, don't bother sending codes, we won't care.
Calanon Posted February 5, 2015 Posted February 5, 2015 What are you getting at here? I said that I include the remote and unlikely possibilities in any given situation as well as the obvious and easy solutions. I don't know if I will become a stump or not. If I don't become a stump, I don't know how you would know my alignment. But you need to consider that a possibility. They have considered the possibility that you won't become a stump. However, if you do become a stump, PM 1-2 people with a code. You're spending a lot of time resisting something so simple that can only help, not harm
Hinckley Posted February 5, 2015 Posted February 5, 2015 All of the code discussion certainly will be wasted if you and others don't decide to use it. This, yes. Seriously. Except for one flaw in your plan; I am an Oak! I will be lynched today so I will not be with you in any form tomorrow, so what good would codes from me do? Because I think the oaks are being terribly mislead by the maples. However, in rereading the rules there is another change. It states a dead player may not communicate with other players living or dead. So no, I don't know or have inside information, I just think there is way too much trust placed by many in a few for only Day 2! Ahem... 4. The alignment of lynched players, as well as those that died during the night, will be revealed at the beginning of the next day. All of your "studying" of the rules failed to bring up the point that we are supposed to see the alignment of lynched players! So you are either reading in low light again or deliberately trying to make us believe that Alastair wasn't janitored. The Scum chose to janitor Alastair because it gave us nothing to work on today as far as voting patterns, accusations...or Alatstair's alignment. That is the simplest explanation. The fact that you are trying to confuse further, perhaps capitalize on that confusion and refuse to send out codes makes me very happy with where my vote is placed. If you are Scum, burn in hell. If you are Town, turn your lights up already.
Lady K Posted February 5, 2015 Posted February 5, 2015 They have considered the possibility that you won't become a stump. However, if you do become a stump, PM 1-2 people with a code. You're spending a lot of time resisting something so simple that can only help, not harm Thank you. I have already sent a couple of PMs to those I decided to trust. Any info I have that can be of help has already been passed on. This, yes. Seriously. Ahem... Because, as a stump at least I would still be able to participate.
Hinckley Posted February 5, 2015 Posted February 5, 2015 You are still basing this on me being able to become a stump after my lynch. Do you have info I don't? Because, as a stump at least I would still be able to participate. I'm assuming a janitored player couldn't become a stump because they could tell us what alignment they were. So we have no way of knowing if you will be a stump and it doesn't take long to generate some lists so why not at least try?
Lady K Posted February 5, 2015 Posted February 5, 2015 I still need to vote so here it is. After debating between Larry Larch for just riding the bandwagon, not providing new information, and just participating on a minimal level, and Barry Cherry for the very fluffy and full of holes 'case' against me and because I find him highly suspicious for starting this whole code business and wasting all of Day 2 on it, I will now vote for: Vote: Barry Cherry (juck) I believe Barry to be the worst of the maple scum. He spent all his effort Day 1 and Day 2 to lynch me and find a way to get information from the stumps. He has shown a great interest in knowing what roles the town has lost. Too much interest. I still feel these codes will help the maples more than the oaks. Which is why I chose to pass along any information I had along with my maple scum list the old fashioned way through a PM.
Dragonfire Posted February 5, 2015 Posted February 5, 2015 Look. We don't know what's going to happen, Catarina. If you are a) a Maple, b) all lynches are like Alastair's, or c) are janitored, then you won't become a stump, and the codes won't help town. But if you are an Oak and you do become a stump, then you can help town. Don't you see? There is a possibility this could work; if you are truly an Oak then help town by sending codes and you might do something substantially good. Either way, whatever happens with the lynch, someone will probably die tonight and become a stump, so if they have coded then it'll be OK.

I thought it was her idea.
Tamamono Posted February 5, 2015 Posted February 5, 2015 So, Catarina came to me asking me a lot of fishy questions about how I was cleared, and if I knew the identity of who cleared me... I was unconvinced on her before, but it's starting to look like she's really scum. Vote: Catarina Dogwood (adventurer1)

Duvors Posted February 5, 2015 Posted February 5, 2015 Because she's "useless" not because you think she's Scummy. That's very interesting. Well, add another "accusation" to my nature. Tell me, what about accusing people makes you suspicious? This is an even stranger statement than "asterisks look pretty good in low light" or whatever. Well she is, but the precise way in which she is useless i.e. annoying comments that show a startling lack of attention and repeated use of the Flail on everyone who tries to accuse her (I hope I'm using the word flail correctly) is rather suspicious. Some bug in my nature really, I just dislike highly aggressive play styles. Not really, I'm just saying that I've said these things already today. First off, I did look up what a janitor did on mafia wiki. I also looked up what other roles might be in play here. I am not stupid, complaining, whining, or acting the poor little noob. Yes, yes you are. Could everyone please stop voting for Catarina already? We already have more than enough votes to convict, at this point it just looks like you're jumping on a bandwagon where a lynch is already certain just to look good, or you aren't paying proper attention to the number of votes.

I would think useless would be someone who doesn't pay attention to the thread. Who else is going to vote for me? All 22 of us have voted. Stumps can't vote, so who are you referring to?

And you forget - a few extra votes is a good thing. If she's a power scum role, it might be worth them revealing themselves by jumping off at the last minute to get a no-lynch for the day. Very unlikely this early in the game, since it would reveal her and the jump-off-ers to all be scum, but it's possible.

It seems like you are covering for Bobby Beech and his complete lack of attention to the thread and vote tally. So you are ok with him not paying attention?
mostlytechnic Posted February 5, 2015 Posted February 5, 2015 It seems like you are covering for Bobby Beech and his complete lack of attention to the thread and vote tally. So you are ok with him not paying attention? Um, no, actually I was criticizing him, but for a different reason than you. Yes, it was dumb for him to call for an end to votes on you when everyone had already voted. But it was ALSO dumb for him to say there's no reason for someone to add an extra vote when the lynch is already "done" since nothing is done till the day ends.
Walter Kovacs Posted February 5, 2015 Author Posted February 5, 2015 Day 2 has come to an end, and with 16 votes, Catarina Dogwood (adventurer1) has been lynched. Back in the logger’s camp, Mr Big Chief strolls into the camp holding a new letter. “Well fellas, gather round. Looks like tonight we…” he says before coming to a halt, his mouth agape. “What. In the holy hell. Is THAT?!” He is stunned to find Burt, standing next to a freshly planted pear tree. Burt answers sheepishly “Well, we felt so bad that Ernie ripped this sapling out, roots and all, so I brought it back to camp and planted it here. It’s outside the forest, and it’ll help re-populate the wood.” Mr. Big Chief just shakes his head and mumbles a curse to himself. Then he bellows “Get the gear ready. We have a lot of work to do tonight.” You have 24 Hours to get your Night Actions in.
