Lego Spy Posted February 2, 2015 Posted February 2, 2015 Clumsy tree-fellers! Vote: Ernie (Walter Kovacs) Jokes aside, this is pretty frustrating. What I find especially interesting is that neither of the two Oak "deaths"/now stumps are trees brought into question yesterday. It seem like an Oak vigilante would go for one of the top suspects from yesterday, rather than picking, overall, someone who hasn't done anything particularly maple-y as of yet. My best guess is that whatever happened last night, neither of the two kills were dealt by a vig. Suggesting a few things: 1. The vigilante, if we have one, did not submit a kill last night. 2. There is no vigilante. (Somewhat unlikely) 3. Or, in my mind the least likely, the vig did kill last night, and just made a strange decision.
Yzalirk Posted February 2, 2015 Posted February 2, 2015 I don't see why not since it doesn't say anything about not being able to PM...
Lady K Posted February 2, 2015 Posted February 2, 2015 I was actually wondering something similar in that even though he may have been janitored the way by which affiliation is determined is by inspecting the stump which in Alastair's case are inexistent. Would he regrow a stump? Makes no sense! The more I think about it the more I fear we will never find out if he was Maple or not ... At least not in the short term. So should we proceed assuming Alistair was a maple? I agree that it doesn't make sense to janitor as oak.
fhomess Posted February 2, 2015 Posted February 2, 2015 No need to speculate. What other possibility is there. Read the rules. Alignment is shown in the morning. Are you honestly grilling a dead Oak? Not grilling... trying to understand. At first I thought they would be limited in how they communicated with us based on the night description.
JackJonespaw Posted February 2, 2015 Posted February 2, 2015 So should we proceed assuming Alistair was a maple? I agree that it doesn't make sense to janitor as oak. If the rules state that the alignment is shown in the morning, then it just had to be a janitor. So Alistair had to be a Maple then, right...? Can anyone think of any plausible reason to janitor an oak?
Hinckley Posted February 2, 2015 Posted February 2, 2015 1. The vigilante, if we have one, did not submit a kill last night. 2. There is no vigilante. (Somewhat unlikely) 3. Or, in my mind the least likely, the vig did kill last night, and just made a strange decision. After looking at their posts from yesterday, neither one did very much of anything. Lauren rallied a lynch of Alastair. I think that is literally his only contribution outside of telling Buck to vote. And Buck made like 4 posts. If the vig did kill, I would assume they killed Buck and the Scum killed Lauren...for rallying people to lynch Alastair...who was Scum...then they janitored him. I see no other reason to kill Lauren. Unless the vig or a serial killer killed Lauren and the Scum were blocked or their target protected. I'm doing that speculate about every possibility of kill thing. Lauren would even make more sense as a neutral kill because he wasn't likely to be watched or protected. And maybe Buck was killed by a vigilante who prefers to weed out the low posters. Or there's a serial killer taking out low posters. Or Buck or Lauren said something to Scum in private that made them the kill target. Or something to the vig in private that made them think they were Scum I always yell at people for doing this... My point is, Chester, you seem to be more concerned about the vig. Do you know something we don't? Perhaps you are Scum and you know the Scum killed one of those two and you're trying to figure out if there's a neutral. That's what you sound like to me. Plus, after Day One, you're on my Scum list.
Lady K Posted February 2, 2015 Posted February 2, 2015 If the rules state that the alignment is shown in the morning, then it just had to be a janitor. So Alistair had to be a Maple then, right...? Can anyone think of any plausible reason to janitor an oak? I have never played with one so I don't know the advantages of the role. I do see the advantage of protecting a maple's alignment from being known to oaks though.
Hinckley Posted February 2, 2015 Posted February 2, 2015 Not grilling... trying to understand. At first I thought they would be limited in how they communicated with us based on the night description. But, why are you even considering a possibility other than janitor? You are trying way too hard to appear like an Oak, you scummy Maple. You're going down.
Lego Spy Posted February 2, 2015 Posted February 2, 2015 If the rules state that the alignment is shown in the morning, then it just had to be a janitor. So Alistair had to be a Maple then, right...? Can anyone think of any plausible reason to janitor an oak? Agreed. Why the maples would even janitor on night one at all in the first place perplexes me. It seems like it would just be too obvious to the oaks and they'd want to keep it a secret until later in the game. Very odd decision on their part.
Yzalirk Posted February 2, 2015 Posted February 2, 2015 If the rules state that the alignment is shown in the morning, then it just had to be a janitor. So Alistair had to be a Maple then, right...? Can anyone think of any plausible reason to janitor an oak? Perhaps the Maples could have done so to try and throw us off. Overall, I'm not sure other than to say it could be a clever ruse but it's hard to say.

Can anyone think of any plausible reason to janitor an oak? You're going down too, you Scummy megablocks-kisser. I already said all that. I have never played with one so I don't know the advantages of the role. I do see the advantage of protecting a maple's alignment from being known to oaks though. Trying too hard to not understand a janitor. Also Scum. This is getting too easy. Scum are lining up to reveal themselves here.
Lady K Posted February 2, 2015 Posted February 2, 2015 So going with Alistair as a maple, we should see look back at yesterday to see who he aligned with and who he was against as well as the voting patterns.
Hinckley Posted February 2, 2015 Posted February 2, 2015 So going with Alistair as a maple, we should see look back at yesterday to see who he aligned with and who he was against as well as the voting patterns. Why don't you get on that for us? A little eager to go with one solution, huh? Trying to force us to find leads that aren't true because you and your Maple buddies janitored an Oak? And don't forget, I said Sammy was trying to undermine my confidence in the Alastair vote in private. If Alastair is Scum, doesn't that make Sammy highly suspicious, Catarina? Catarina is out new Oak expert. She's so anti-Maple.

This is getting too easy. Scum are lining up to reveal themselves here. I actually had to go look it up after Lauren Laurel first mentioned it. I'm not trying to hard to not understand it because I really don't understand it past reading up on it just now.
Hinckley Posted February 2, 2015 Posted February 2, 2015 I actually had to go look it up after Lauren Laurel first mentioned it. I'm not trying to hard to not understand it because I really don't understand it past reading up on it just now. Yet, you clearly understood the result. Maybe your Scum buddies janitored the Town Alastair because you went too far to try to accuse him and his alignment reveal would've incriminated you too much! Everyone said it would be very interesting to see what he flipped considering how hard you went after him. It's really convenient that it tells us nothing about you now, isn't it?

Hinckley Posted February 2, 2015 Posted February 2, 2015 Ok, Sorry, I was just trying to help. By all means, help. I'm very eager to hear your research and analysis into who Alastair aligned himself with on Day One.
TheLazyChicken Posted February 2, 2015 Posted February 2, 2015 This is getting confusing, all these stumps and things... If the rules state that the alignment is shown in the morning, then it just had to be a janitor. So Alistair had to be a Maple then, right...? Can anyone think of any plausible reason to janitor an oak? It could be possible for them to janitor an oak to create confusion between us oaks and making us eliminate a oak instead of a maple. That's the only reason why they would janitor an oak I think.

Everyone said it would be very interesting to see what he flipped considering how hard you went after him. It's really convenient that it tells us nothing about you now, isn't it? Um, I never went after Alistair. He went after me after I voted for Hazel, remember? I changed my vote because a no-lycnh doesn't help us oaks. Incidentally, Hazel is still on my list.
JackJonespaw Posted February 2, 2015 Posted February 2, 2015 You're going down too, you Scummy megablocks-kisser. I already said all that. Wasn't quite an megablocks-kissy move there, I'm interested in hearing other's thoughts about the janitor/oak possibility.

Hi Maple! Um, I never went after Alistair. He went after me after I voted for Hazel, remember? I changed my vote because a no-lycnh doesn't help us oaks. Incidentally, Hazel is still on my list. Where's your helpful analysis?
TheLazyChicken Posted February 2, 2015 Posted February 2, 2015 Perhaps the Maples could have done so to try and throw us off. Overall, I'm not sure other than to say it could be a clever ruse but it's hard to say. Your first statement is what I think the reason was for them to janitor an oak, IF she was an oak.
Piratedave84 Posted February 2, 2015 Posted February 2, 2015 Can you PM? If so, why wouldn't all the Oaks come claim to you now? You're verified Oak. Haven't heard from elder yet; would that not be crazy unfair though? We could have a block setup within 2 hours of the second day; the balance would be crazy pro-town! As soon as I have news, I'll share them

Incidentally, Hazel is still on my list. You don't sound so sure and it seems like you want some reassurance from others to help support your claims, am I correct? Truely, I still find you to be a Maple and after you being almost speechless, it's not making it any better for you. You were also squirming quite a bit with two votes against you so if you're an Oak, why do "The Flail"? You are also beginning to do it now as well. A true Oak would stay positive, keep his/her branches up, and actually be of help. That is why I still believe you're a Maple and pointing the finger aimlessly at others without reasoning is quite Maple-y, wouldn't you agree?
Hinckley Posted February 3, 2015 Posted February 3, 2015 Haven't heard from elder yet; would that not be crazy unfair though? We could have a block setup within 2 hours of the second day; the balance would be crazy pro-town! As soon as I have news, I'll share them I would definitely wait to talk to the elder. I have to admit...this tree stump thing might make it really hard for the Maples. Yes, yes, we all hate the Maples, but we want a fair game. I should not comment on game mechanics, sorry. This went quiet really fast and there are a lot of people lurking...
