It appears to be a 1x3 white liftarm with 40, 1977-2017, and part of a 24t gear.

I'm wondering if it's printed or laser engraved after they experimented with that in the porsche

It appears to be of a single colour: gray. So, from that, I am guessing it's engraved. Plus, with a engraved piece, it's not going to fade, rub off, or come off.
