Appie Posted August 3, 2015 Posted August 3, 2015 (edited) Well 10th anniversary was 1987 and according to Brickset, only the robot set was released(8852) On the 20th anniversary they released the 8479 which is pretty cool on the 30th they released 8297 which isn't much Don't see why they'd do something special for the 40th The 8297 was from 2008. In 2007 we had the 8275 bulldozer. The first of many (IR) PF models. Was a pretty cool milestone imo. Also it had quite a bit of studded building in the model too, which could be considered a nice tribute to "the old Technic days". As for the 40th anniversary, I expect something with "Limited Edition", "special colours" and all those buzz words that weren't as hot in 1987, 1997 or 2007 as they are today. Whatever they do, I am sure I will buy a copy Edited August 3, 2015 by Appie Quote
LegoCube Posted August 3, 2015 Posted August 3, 2015 It is already called Bionicle and implemented in previous sets. And, no thanks. I see a lot of skulls and deamons. But I think I see your point. I would be happy with a racing helmet head for a Pohatu if the scale matches... Quote
N-4K0 Posted August 3, 2015 Posted August 3, 2015 What if they made a set with a new edition of PP wheels, or a new version of those? It seems many people want those back. Quote

LegoCube Posted August 4, 2015 Posted August 4, 2015 Thanks for the info blakbird. I was thinking something mire like this :) http://brickset.com/sets/75110-1 I might just but one of those :) Quote
jono rocky Posted August 5, 2015 Posted August 5, 2015 I would like to see something different like Ken Blocks 1965 Ford Mustang. Quote
JJ2 Posted August 5, 2015 Posted August 5, 2015 I would love for them to make New Power function parts AKA either a Small motor, a servo motor limiter so it can only go a certain degrees, or make a new RC system with a new AFFORDABLE RC motor Quote
TheRebricker Posted August 5, 2015 Posted August 5, 2015 I'm thinking TLG needs to buy out sBrick, or bring some type of non-IR PF remote to the table. Perhaps even bringing GlideWheel to the table to help integrate the PF system with the EV3 system, I don't see the purpose in maintaining the disparity between these different lines when they should all be able to work together, and have been proven to be able to. LennyRhys Posted August 5, 2015 Posted August 5, 2015 Old style box, with the plastic trays.... Heck yes! I remember going into the stores in the 1980s and 1990s and lifting up the lids of the big sets to see the ACTUAL Lego pieces in the box - 8868 was a particularly nice one, as was 8880. That made Lego even more amazing back in these days, because you could get so close to the actual Lego without taking it home, and it was agonizing! Quote
Jockos Posted August 5, 2015 Posted August 5, 2015 I stay at a 3000+ pieces set. I would really like to have this. Quote
JJ2 Posted August 5, 2015 Posted August 5, 2015 (edited) I stay at a 3000+ pieces set. I would really like to have this. But that also means $230~€210 price tag I also wouldn't mind a technic-power functions add on set Edited August 5, 2015 by JJ2 Quote

bonox Posted August 5, 2015 Posted August 5, 2015 a servo motor limiter so it can only go a certain degrees doesn't this already exist? Quote
Alasdair Ryan Posted August 5, 2015 Posted August 5, 2015 That looks like it's even less Technic than normal Bionicle... Could they not give him some proper eyes? Barbie dolls have more realistic heads on them. Quote
JJ2 Posted August 5, 2015 Posted August 5, 2015 doesn't this already exist? No it does not exist. But if it did I would already have one. Quote
Henkl Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 If you use the remote with the turn function the servo will have 7 steps. Quote
zux Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 No it does not exist. But if it did I would already have one. Here you go. Quote

zux Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 I was thinking for a while - what about some great universal sets, so you could build many models from single set? And with some models (as inspiration) not having building instructions (like in good old days)? Quote
JJ2 Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 Here you go. Ya I mean something the controls the amount of degrees after the IR receiver not the remote.I was thinking something like this. Quote
allanp Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 Would a proportional transmitter be better? One that is absolute, not relative like the train remote. Quote
Richard Dower Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 TLG may not even acknowledge or release anything...40th anniversary might not even be a thing for them......... Quote
D3K Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 Ya I mean something the controls the amount of degrees after the IR receiver not the remote. What exactly do you want it for? I think most of what you're looking for can be solved by using these, or if you want to be able to control the steps between +/- 90 degrees, then the aforementioned train remote controller should give you what you want Quote
