Frozen Assasin Posted August 26, 2015 Posted August 26, 2015 (edited) too childish. Hey, who turned off the lights ? Hoping for a set with these guys - double sided faces with one side "normal" and the other skeleton. Edited August 26, 2015 by Frozen Assasin Quote
Tariq j Posted August 26, 2015 Posted August 26, 2015 Yes! I too would love to see the Vashta Nedrada. They would make an excellent monster on Dimensions. Quote
gedren_y Posted August 26, 2015 Posted August 26, 2015 I grew up with Tom Baker as well, with Dr Who on PBS. K-9 was my favorite companion (no offense to the people). I tried to keep up with new series, but my channels were inconsistent in keeping the series going. The Sci-Fi Channel (before they became Scy-Fy) carried it for a while, and even had the Sarah Jane Chronicles. Never got to see Torchwood, though. None of my channels carry the show now. A set I would like, if TLG is smart enough to make this a full theme, is the giant teleporter from the episode with the ATMOS (can't remember the episode name). The aliens would be good to have, but I really want the head genius kid as a minifig. I love his goofy work on After You've Gone. Quote
BrickOn Posted August 26, 2015 Posted August 26, 2015 I would like Silurians, specifically Madame Vastra (and Jenny) in their Victorian outfits... Recently they have become pretty main characters with the new doctor so I think there is a good chance... Or Rory the Roman! And Amy pond as a a pirate captain... Or maybe the vampires of Venice... As people had said before there are so many places this theme can go... Quote
dmarvin Posted August 26, 2015 Posted August 26, 2015 (edited) Hoping for a set with these guys - double sided faces with one side "normal" and the other skeleton. a set with these would be amazing...because we'd get River Song too! Edited August 26, 2015 by LuxorV Please do not quote images from the same page. Thank you. Quote
Tariq j Posted August 26, 2015 Posted August 26, 2015 @Gedren y: I think that's the Poisen Sky Two parter episode, and I agree, it would be excellent to get as a set. I would love to get the Santa Pilot fish in minifigure form I also think they could make an End Of Time set, they could include the Vinvocci Spacecraft and the Immortality Gate. Quote
A Gallifreyan Cat Posted August 26, 2015 Posted August 26, 2015 Any more news on a release date? Quote

Blondie-Wan Posted August 26, 2015 Posted August 26, 2015 You know, going back to that photo from earlier... Some leaked Dr. Who's sonic screwdrivers. Hmmm. They're painted differently. And it's not just a matter of one being from earlier in the production process than the other; each one has paint somewhere that the other doesn't. Since it seems unlikely LEGO would mix up the order it gave its parts paint applications in (i.e., some copies of a piece going to paint station A to get green and then to B to get red, while other copies of the same piece go to B first and then A), this image suggests to me that there are going to be at least two different versions (with different deco) of the sonic screwdriver element. Hmmmm. Perhaps one is for the Ideas set and one for the LEGO Dimensions Level Pack? Or perhaps one of them is for something else still, that we don't yet know about... Quote
GandalfofHoth Posted August 26, 2015 Posted August 26, 2015 (edited) I would personally love a set with a British Dalek from Victory of the Daleks, and a Winston Churchill minifigure. A Day of the Doctor set would be amazing, as it would get the David Tennant fans and the Matt Smith fans both in one set, I think that would be a great way for Lego to go, and maybe in that set we could see the War Doctor too. But I'll probably be fine with any set, as long we don't get a set from series 7. Edited August 26, 2015 by GandalfofHoth Quote
Tariq j Posted August 26, 2015 Posted August 26, 2015 @Blondie Wan: Hmm, my only theory I can think of is that they are doing to differently positioned screwdrivers, so one is in the closed position and the other model is in the open position. Quote
Jared Posted August 26, 2015 Posted August 26, 2015 You can never have too many Daleks or Cybermen Jared!!!! NEVER VTSQUATTS, NEVER! ;D UPGRADING (to more sets) IS COMPULSORY! YOU WILL BECOME LIKE US (in that you'll be morphed into plastic)! Hoping for a set with these guys - double sided faces with one side "normal" and the other skeleton. I don't know if TLG will go for tha- hey who turned out the lights? ;) I would like Silurians, specifically Madame Vastra (and Jenny) in their Victorian outfits... OMG YES! LEGIT one of the best posts on this thread (up there with VSQUATTS)! I would personally love a set with a British Dalek from Victory of the Daleks, and a Winston Churchill minifigure. A Day of the Doctor set would be amazing, as it would get the David Tennant fans and the Matt Smith fans both in one set, I think that would be a great way for Lego to go, and maybe in that set we could see the War Doctor too. But I'll probably be fine with set, as long we don't get a set from series 7. Actually, a 50th anniversary set would be excellent, especially for the 52nd anniversary! I think I'd be more excited for getting a LEGO war doctor (as we'll FINALLY then get cmf s6 sleepyhead hair in light bluish grey) but I've always had a soft spot for "old timer" doctors like the 4th, 6th and 8th (well i guess he's more new but whatever, still love Paul Mcgann)... Quote
VTsquatts Posted August 26, 2015 Posted August 26, 2015 I think someone mentioned it before but a wave of collectable minifigures would be great. I would buy an entire box!!! But so many characters though so maybe 2 waves of collectable minifigures lol!!! Quote
Frozen Assasin Posted August 26, 2015 Posted August 26, 2015 (edited) I, for once, want sets that involve the regeneration of each Doctor. 1 -> 2 (could be a smaller set, involving the 1st and 2nd Doctors, the Cybermen, some small base and Polly with Jackson.) The next set could be 2-> 3 and feature 2 or 3 Time-Lords and the 2nd/3rd Doctors. The third set would be set at U.N.I.T ( a middle-sized set) and have the 3rd,4th Doctors together with K'anpo Rimpoche, Sarah Jane and the Brigadier.Maybe even a model Tardis. The next one should be quite big, as it would have at least 7 figures - the 4th and 5th Doctors, the Master, the Watcher, Tegan, Nyssa, Adric and even maybe a Logopolian, as well as a diorama from Logopolis itself. The next one would have the crystal, the 5th and the 6th Doctors, a Tardis model and Peri, so that would be the smallest (or the second smallest set.) Then we have the 6th and the 7th Doctor, Rani, a Tetrap and Melanie Bush, with the setting being Rani's Lab. After that have the TV movie, with two or three gangsters, a model Tardis and a Chicago street. 7th and 8th Doctors. Next would be a set with 2 minifigures (maximum 3) and an extremely simple environment with the planet of the sisterhood of Khan and the 8th together with the War Incarnation. I would like this one to come in a set with the regen. from War to Nine, 'cause those two would make for extremely boring sets if alone. Then, one with 9th,10th,Rose and the Tardis. After that, it would be cool to have a rather big set - involving a winter street, a lamp, Rose, the Tardis, 10 and 11. And the last one (finally) would involve the 11, Amy, Clara, the Tardis and 12. Tomorrow I shall maybe put some ideas for "one iconic TV-moment a Doctor a set". Or even multiple such moments 'cause even now I can imagine at least 3 for 3 (lol) and 5 for 4. Hulk_Smash Posted August 26, 2015 Posted August 26, 2015 You might not have to wait for that last one ;) Quote
Jared Posted August 26, 2015 Posted August 26, 2015 The next one would have the crystal, the 5th and the 6th Doctors, a Tardis model and Peri, so that would be the smallest (or the second smallest set.) I would go nuts if they did this. Absolutely love the sixth doctor and Peri. You might not have to wait for that last one ;) As River Song would say, "Spoilers"! ;) Quote
Ordinareo Posted August 26, 2015 Posted August 26, 2015 (edited) I would love to have a set based on Journey's End and The End of Time. We could get in the Journey's End set Davros, Rose, Mickey, Jackie, Martha, Donna, Sarah Jane, 10th Doctor and a few Daleks And in The End of Time Set we would get The Master, 10th Doctor, Rassilon and maybe Wilfred. Edited August 26, 2015 by Ordinareo Quote
gedren_y Posted August 27, 2015 Posted August 27, 2015 I also hope to get Omega, from the Three Doctors story arc. Quote
dmarvin Posted August 27, 2015 Posted August 27, 2015 I think about four waves of a CMF series would be the absolute perfect way to treat Doctor Who since basically we only need the Minifigures (and the TARDIS we're already getting) in order to recreate anything we want to do. But that's just a pipe dream... Quote
Flipz Posted August 27, 2015 Posted August 27, 2015 What characters would be best for a DW CMF line (keeping in mind TLG's design rules per wave, i.e. "counterparts" so that figures are harder to differentiate)? For the sake of pleasing as many people as possible, let's assume non-Doctor characters only, and a roughly even split between Classic and Modern Who. Quote

For the sake of pleasing as many people as possible, let's assume non-Doctor characters only, and a roughly even split between Classic and Modern Who. I don't know how it is in the rest of the world but here in the states, virtually all Doctor Who merch I see pertains to the modern series. Since LEGO targets kids, I think a Who CMF series probably wouldn't contain anything from the classic series unless it was the Doctors themselves. Kids want the new stuff; that's why a LEGO TMNT theme, for example, has only been based off the Nick series and recent movie and not off the superior classic cartoons or comics. If you show most kids a minifig of one of the earliest companions, they're just gonna go "What?" And the ideal CMF series will appeal to kids and AFOLs alike. One way to combat this is to release army builders that classic and modern Who fans alike would appreciate. For example, I think a Sontaran soldier would be perfect to occupy one of the 16 roster spots in a Who wave. People would even want multiples. I also think a Sarah Jane with a dual face -- one young, one old -- would be incredible. Edited August 27, 2015 by dmarvin Quote
VTsquatts Posted August 27, 2015 Posted August 27, 2015 Yea its mostly the new series but would love new and old sets and minifigures alike!! Hope the Ideas set sells well to show there is a demand for The Doctor!!! Quote
Heppeng Posted August 27, 2015 Posted August 27, 2015 I suspect it will be sold out on the first day! Quote
Frozen Assasin Posted August 27, 2015 Posted August 27, 2015 Also, to continue my topic of sets based on DW. First Doctor - A set with the Daleks on Skaro, since this is the most familiar one to the audience. And of course, Totter Lane and the junkyard Second Doctor - Tomb of the Cybermen, the Ice Warriors, the Yeti's in the underground. Third Doctor - Something with the Silurians and the Sea-Devils, the Axonians, one based on the Daemons and of course a set with the Draconians. Futhermore - the Time Warrior. Also, a set base on Terror of the Autons. And of course the 3 Doctors. Fourth Doctor - Hell, almost every episode could be an set. But to pick out some - The Talons of Weng-Chiang, the Androids of Tara, Terror of the Zygons, the Seeds of Doom... Fifth Doctor - the Five Doctors, Earthshock, Snakedance, Mawdryn Undead and that's it. Sixth Doctor - Trial of a Time Lord (pick any episode), the Two Doctors. Seventh Doctor - the Curse of Fenric, Happiness Patrol, the Greatest show in the Galaxy, Survival. Eight Doctor - TV movie Ninth Doctor - Rose, Boom Town, Aliens in London, Dalek. Tenth - Blink, Silence in the Library, End of Time, Last of the Time Lords, Gridlock, New Earth,... Eleventh - Day of the Doctor, Name of the Doctor, A Town Called Mercy, A Good Man Goes to War, the Wedding of River Song, the Big Bang, Amy's Choice, Time of Angels, Cold Blood. Twelfth - ...Not enough stories (as of yet). Despite that, "Mummy on the Orient Express" would make a good set. Quote
