VTsquatts Posted September 8, 2015 Posted September 8, 2015 *silently waits for new news* So do you think they're waiting for Dimensions to come out and the Doctor Who expansions to come out so they can use the new hair and screwdriver pieces, circumventing the "no new pieces in ideas sets" rule? So no reveal or anything until those sets are in circulation? Brutal. Quote

I believe the rule is more about the project proposals not being allowed to use new pieces. There's no reason LEGO can't use new pieces in an Ideas set of it wants to; they just don't want a lot of Ideas projects that require it. Quote
Tariq j Posted September 8, 2015 Posted September 8, 2015 Well, the current speculation is that we may see a reveal when series 9 stars, so September 19 (or is it 23?) I can't remember. Quote
Jacob_9821 Posted September 8, 2015 Posted September 8, 2015 The pieces already exist, I see no reason why this would delay an announcement. But this could be why the set is a December release, to avoid the rule. Quote

I think the rule now is you cant make proposals that are specificaly for new pieces only. no "hey lego make this piece" submissions. Quote
dr_spock Posted September 8, 2015 Posted September 8, 2015 I think the rule now is you cant make proposals that are specificaly for new pieces only. no "hey lego make this piece" submissions. We accept ideas for LEGO construction toys using currently available LEGO bricks We cannot produce new LEGO parts molds, new cloth or other non-brick elements within the scope of LEGO Ideas, and therefore we don’t accept projects that include these items. Existing parts in different colors are okay, as well as new stickers or printed parts. Quote

Scarilian Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 It was just the console, with the walkway to the door and the door. Can understand why it would be like that, but hopefully it actually does have some of the whole Tardis interior design going on in the finished version. Would feel odd to just have the console and nothing surrounding other than the door >< Quote

Aright but somewhere else they talk about how they might make new molds, its all aprt of their eveluation. them abscialy saying it's not impossible. Quote
MarklinCadet Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 Information: it is based on Time of the Doctor, it will contain Matt Smith, Peter Capaldi, Clara, two Daleks, a Weeping Angel and is the TARDIS interior with the exterior on the end and able to come off and display as the TARDIS. Also it comes out on December 1st Not sure if this is related, but in the SDCC Dimensions Doctor Who trailer, at the part where all the doctors are shown, the Tenth Doc seems to be absent. Maybe the Tenth Doc will be in the Ideas set? Quote

Maybe the Tenth Doc will be in the Ideas set? Yeah, he's there, but looks a bit different as for some reason his mini figure version has flatter hair as opposed to a better spikier hairpiece... Quote
Hellbelly Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 It's his hair style from the 50th Anniversary special. Quote
Jared Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 Yeah, he's there, but looks a bit different as for some reason his mini figure version has flatter hair as opposed to a better spikier hairpiece... It's his hair style from the 50th Anniversary special. It's based on his appearance from season 2 as well as the 50th. His hair wasn't always spiky, back when he first started, it was actually flat. This isn't the best pic, but you can google "doctor who david tennant season 2" and you'll see.... or, you can, you know, do the more logical thing and watch series 2 (of the revived series) all over again ;) I sincerely hope that if they do make the 10th Doctor, they'll use the spiky hair rather than flat hair! Jared Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 Oh right, it's been so long the image of him in my mind is from late seasons... Hahaha, no worries, same thing happened to me when I first saw the trailer. I was like "Wait, where's the spiky hair?" Quote
Jared Posted September 13, 2015 Posted September 13, 2015 Well, 6 days until the new series starts.... any guesses/thoughts as to when the reveal will be? I'm going to say either Tuesday 10am or Friday... Quote
ultron32 Posted September 13, 2015 Posted September 13, 2015 Those sound like reasonable guesses - I wouldn't be wholly surprised if it was Saturday morning either (or almost any other day this week after tomorrow, lol) Quote
just2good Posted September 13, 2015 Posted September 13, 2015 I'm still thinking New York Toy Fair. :l Quote
Jacob_9821 Posted September 13, 2015 Posted September 13, 2015 Still hoping for a September 1st reveal, CM4Sci is quite reliable. (Joking, to clarify I don't mean any harm against him) I still think it has to be when the show's new season aires. Personally I think that's the best time. May come sooner than we think. Quote

I hate to say this j2g, but although you're always right, I'm really hoping you'll be wrong on this one... Still hoping for a September 1st reveal, CM4Sci is quite reliable. CM4Sci Posted September 14, 2015 Author Posted September 14, 2015 Aw, you guys really not gonna trust me anymore over a little misunderstanding? Haha, I'm sure we'll get something either from NYCC or Sept 19 Quote
