Umbra-Manis Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 I'm not even a fan, and i post the first official pictures. Might get this for minifig parts though. Quote
CM4Sci Posted October 5, 2015 Author Posted October 5, 2015 (edited) I love the box! As I stated when I originally created this topic, I am not a fan of Doctor Who, I don't watch the show, I only know a few things from friends. I definitely have to get this though! Updated first post with official images and link to the blog post. Edited October 5, 2015 by CM4Sci Quote
BrickBob Studpants Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 *drools uncontrollably* I want it NOW :D I also really like the use of this piece for the Daleks eyestalk: Quote
CM4Sci Posted October 5, 2015 Author Posted October 5, 2015 Hey, so if this has already been revealed, what're they gonna do for NYCC? Quote
8BrickMario Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 I really really like the Angel! I really dislike the clear neck bracket, though. I like how the Doctor stands inside the Tardis box, and the figures look great. Quote
6ix Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 (edited) Not a fan of Doctor Who, but I might get this set just for the police box, since I love police. Edit: A shame Lego didn't include the road part, would have looked really nice with just the police box displayed. Maybe if I get the set I'll MOC that road. Edited October 5, 2015 by 6ix Quote
Sir Gareth Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 A bit irritated that I have to pay $30 for the Dimensions Level Pack just to get the Twelfth Doctor in his regular clothes Quote
Kaanere Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 Not a fan, but that cabin seems preety detailed! Quote
LMB10 Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 A bit irritated that I have to pay $30 for the Dimensions Level Pack just to get the Twelfth Doctor in his regular clothes Agreed. That does really suck. Quote
Tariq j Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 Agreed. That does really suck. I agree but then I suppose to its good to get some variation on these figures, as oppose to getting the same figure over and over again. Quote
8BrickMario Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 At least you don't have to pay $60 for the 12th Doctor in his regular clothes. Quote
CM4Sci Posted October 5, 2015 Author Posted October 5, 2015 (edited) I think I reverse-engineered the TARDIS pretty well. Click the picture to download my LDD file! Edited October 5, 2015 by CM4Sci Quote
Tezclatipoca Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 I really really like the Angel! I really dislike the clear neck bracket, though. Yes me too. I love the Angels in the show. They are soooo scary. I think it is a good representation in LEGO but I don't know why the designer of the minifig used a clear neck bracket. Quote
deskp Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 A bit irritated that I have to pay $30 for the Dimensions Level Pack just to get the Twelfth Doctor in his regular clothes You might be able to bricklink him for less if you really dont want anything else thats included in that pack. overall this ideas set is more 11th doctor than 12th wich i have no problem with. the daleks tho yeesh, they look manky cobbled together. here is one i've made. (of the 2010 daleks wich i much prefer.) Quote

I think it is a good representation in LEGO but I don't know why the designer of the minifig used a clear neck bracket. Perhaps the prints in the set negated the possibility for the one recolor. I'm hoping we'll get a spinoff Doctor Who theme with a more accurate Angel, wings and all. Quote
deskp Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 (edited) I don't know why the designer of the minifig used a clear neck bracket. It's cause that is the color that element exists in, they didnt see the need to make it in a new color just for this. it's clear so it doesn't stand out enough to warrant a new color. Perhaps the prints in the set negated the possibility for the one recolor. I'm hoping we'll get a spinoff Doctor Who theme with a more accurate Angel, wings and all. More accurate wings would probably mean what hawkman got, plastic sheet wings. Would be better. http://cache.lego.com/r/catalogs/-/media/catalogs/characters/dc/fullsize/2014/76028-hawkman_360w_2x.png?l.r2=736257254 Edited October 5, 2015 by deskp Quote
ReZourceman Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 What's the weird stud ring element? Comes in trans-orange on the blue radar dishes. Quote

CM4Sci Posted October 5, 2015 Author Posted October 5, 2015 (edited) What's the weird stud ring element? Comes in trans-orange on the blue radar dishes. Normal round 1x1 tile. EDIT: Ninja'd by deskp. Edited October 5, 2015 by CM4Sci Quote
6ix Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 (edited) It's the round brick with hole. Edit: Looking closer, it's not, it's a round tile indeed. I was fooled by the blueish color inside. Edited October 5, 2015 by 6ix Quote
Dhivael Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 Very pretty set. I am excited by the elements that they include and the fact that they managed to give us two doctors, though I'm disappointed by the absence of Amy Pond. Quote

Granted you can currently only get the 12th in his proper outfit (or one of them) via Dimensions, but by doing the Capaldi figure here post-regeneration, that means they've packed in the ability for people to have BOTH main 11th Doctor figures - one in his tweed, and with a quick head swap in his purple Victorian gear! :) Quote
deskp Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 BOTH main 11th Doctor figures - one in his tweed, and with a quick head swap in his purple Victorian gear! :) Mind it's missing the bowtie, which was a pretty significant symbol in the regeneration scene. Quote
SpiderSpaceman Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 A bummer there's not an opening door. Gotta have an opening door. How can the doctor invite Velma on a time 'n' space adventure without a door? Jinkies! Also (copy-pasting this from a youtube comment I made) I feel like there should have been light burst accessories to go on neck and wrists for the regeneration Woulda been fun. Quote
Bricky Dee Williams Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 Post #1000! And wow, the more I look at this, the representation is just so well made! I love it. Come on December. Quote
