October 8, 20159 yr The set looks terrific! Can hardly wait! The big question is.... Are they going to produce enough sets so everyone who wants one can get one? I plan to order as soon as the order link becomes live, but so does everyone else, so LEGO's site will crash as usual. Andy D Edited October 8, 20159 yr by Andy D
October 8, 20159 yr The zipline handle was used as a zipline handle in Spinlyn's Cavern in Chima. I hope LEGO won't underestimate the DW fanbase. Of course, they could always do a limited first run and "run out" to get more interest in the set before releasing it properly.
October 8, 20159 yr Given the release date's proximity to Christmas and the popularity of Doctor Who, I imagine this'll be more like the Ghostbusters set than, say, the research institute or Mars Rover. At least, I'd hope that's the case.
October 8, 20159 yr Now I'm jealous This set keeps getting better every time I look at the pictures and it was already excellent to begin with I'm just wondering why it won't be released in November instead of December, the waiting is going to kill me
October 8, 20159 yr Are the Daleks gold? They look gold--from the high-res images I thought they were dark tan for some reason. Slightly like them more now... Both the Daleks and Angel look better in this photo actually. And now it looks like it might be possible to easily mod the Daleks to get a complete black band at the bottom.
October 8, 20159 yr Author The gold pieces are the clips and the bracket for the neck, the rest is dark tan.
October 8, 20159 yr ARGH! It's so hard to wait! That Angel does look better from that angle. And the TARDIS...

I'm crossing my fingers that there isn't a colour variation just like in the video posted a couple pages ago... Can't wait for the review! Edited October 8, 20159 yr by pong0814

October 8, 20159 yr The full review is up, and the daleks still look scrawny and bad imo. http://brickset.com/...1304-doctor-who Updated verison of mine (the piece used for the eyestalk isn't in ldd yet) And time war dalek with smaller neck Edited October 8, 20159 yr by deskp
October 8, 20159 yr It would be good if Lego released on November 23rd (Anniversary of Doctor Who) instead of December 1st but I guess the deadline is set in stone. The picture makes the set look even more amazing! I think what makes this set stand out amongst all the other ideas sets (in my opinion anyway) is the way the exterior can merge into the interior as oppose to having them both separately. Having seen the review, I'm impressed to see there are not stickers, but what I really hope is if Lego could do exactly the same thing for the other Doctors' Tardis's. October 8, 20159 yr The Weeping Angel's evil face is one of the best I've seen. Let's see...Doctor Who, Nexo Knights, DC, Dimensions...I'll be broke before I know it!

Also, very happy that we're getting two versions of daleks w/ Dimensions and the Ideas set. Gives a lot of choice. As a builder, quite glad they decided not to go with mold (yes I know IDEAS can't have new molds but they could've easily made a new mold for Dimensions and gotten away with putting it in the set...) . December 1st can't come soon enough (and neither can Nov. 3rd!)

Perhaps this is a good alternative? I think this would also look fairly good and fit well. Those are really the only working ones that come in brown... Edit: The spooky girl's hair DOES come in brown, at least next year. A Nexo Knights character has it.

October 8, 20159 yr Glad to see the windows are indeed dark blue! I think the set looks great all around, good builds, good figs. IMO we couldn't really hope for anything better than this for an IDEAS set at that price point / size.
October 8, 20159 yr I think this set and the LEGO Dimensions material make for the promising beginning of a beautiful LEGO Doctor Who theme.

October 8, 20159 yr I agree. Also (I've said this before but here it is again), of the six licensed properties that have gotten official sets through CUUSOO / Ideas, had they come out all at once rather than over the last few years (so that I didn't already know Minecraft became a full theme), Doctor Who is the one I'd pick as the likeliest to become a theme, and/or the one for which it makes the most sense. It's (always) current and ongoing, while at the same time having a huge wealth of established material to draw upon. It has a multigenerational following that includes kids in TLG's core audience, as well as the older "geek" crowd that includes people like, well, me, who are fond of the many licensed sci-fi / fantasy-based themes they've done. Crossing fingers for an ongoing theme for at least a good few years, and at the very least eventually getting all incarnations of the Doctor...
October 8, 20159 yr I think this is a great set, but I wish the TARDIS doors opened in a more realistic manner so that you could have just the TARDIS displayed in a street scene with the Doctor stepping out of the TARDIS.
