MinifigureHQ Posted March 5, 2015 Posted March 5, 2015 The BBC's teaser image certainly strongly suggests Capaldi's Doctor will be in the set, of course, but nothing's official until it's official. They'd be silly not too, both are aiming at current fans / viewers and Capaldi is the 'current' Doctor. Quote
Robert8 Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 According to The Brick Fan, the release date will be october/november: http://www.thebrickfan.com/lego-doctor-who-release-date/ Quote
Razi Posted March 12, 2015 Posted March 12, 2015 I am so excited for this! Doctor Who is one of my favorite shows! I really hope the make the TARDIS interior! Quote
The Chosen Minifigure Posted March 12, 2015 Posted March 12, 2015 It seems likely they will, look at the proposal. Quote
AyliffeMakit Posted March 22, 2015 Posted March 22, 2015 Sorry for the topic bump, but I've found something kinda interesting. You know that image we got of Peter Capaldi's eyes from the BBC's official press release? Well it turns out that there's a slightly different version of that photo featuring the rest of his face, which Doctor Who Magazine ending up printing... So yeah, what do ya think? Quote
Captain Nemo Posted March 22, 2015 Posted March 22, 2015 Interesting. It does look like him. The new hair pieice is great. Although I have to say I'm personally disappointed that we are not getting Matt Smith instead--I'm not really a big fan of Capaldi, but I understand why he would be chosen over the other Doctors. just2good Posted March 22, 2015 Posted March 22, 2015 Interesting. It does look like him. The new hair pieice is great. I will still be amazed if LEGO actually does a new hair mould. LEGO Ideas sets have never received new moulds before, but I guess it's possible if BBC is really pushing the set. Either way, it opens the door for the possibility of all those Legend of Zelda sets. Quote
VictorFrenchFries Posted March 22, 2015 Posted March 22, 2015 That new hairpiece is awesome. It could have been used for Venkman in Ghostbusters. If they make more Jurassic Park sets, it could go to Muldoon or Grant. Quote
Tariq j Posted March 22, 2015 Posted March 22, 2015 That new hairpiece is good. Can't Wai to see more. Quote
The Chosen Minifigure Posted March 22, 2015 Posted March 22, 2015 Interesting. The face seems a bit too wrinkly, it's a bit distracting, but otherwisr it's nice. Quote
jonwil Posted March 22, 2015 Posted March 22, 2015 Its possible the hair mold has been produced for another set somewhere and the Ideas team just happen to be using it. Quote
The Chosen Minifigure Posted March 23, 2015 Posted March 23, 2015 Possibly, but they'll have to release that set pretty fast. Quote
deskp Posted March 23, 2015 Posted March 23, 2015 If the doctor is wearing purple in the set, they might give us his normal verison in a cmf line. like they did with simpsons, weird clothes in simpsons hosu and then normal in the cmf. sut a though of a possebility. Quote
gedren_y Posted March 23, 2015 Posted March 23, 2015 It is entirely possible that the hair in the image was created for an upcoming theme. There is a possibility that it could be for one older characters in Ant-Man. We have only seen one set for the movie so far, and that had substitute heads (also the helmets were on the wrong figs). The hair could have been designed for Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) or Howard Stark (John Slattery). This comes from no actual information, just speculation after looking at the Ant-Man IMDb page. Quote
Razi Posted March 23, 2015 Posted March 23, 2015 Finally, an extra bit of face! I do think it looks like him. Because he has a strong nose, and Lego figures don't have any noses, this is why it might look different. Also, in other news, I'm not sure if you guys heard about this, but I heard that the set will be released in Oct. or Nov. Quote

I doubt ant man gets more than 1 set. Either way its a normal hair elgo can use lots of places. including city. Quote

Ant-Man is definitely not getting more than one wide-release retail set. But, there's always the possibility this hair piece will be used for The Force Awakens sets. Quote
AyliffeMakit Posted March 23, 2015 Posted March 23, 2015 (edited) Just found this short video teaser on the Lego Club website (Note: you may have to be signed in to your Lego ID to view it). Oh my the hype is real EDIT: I also just found this image on the Lego Club website: It's even less than the other image, but it may give us an idea of what the packaging looks like I suppose. BrickBob Studpants Posted March 23, 2015 Posted March 23, 2015 Holy smokes, seeing the LEGO logo being combined with that glorious TARDIS sound effect just made my day Hopefully the set will be revealed quite soon, the wait is just excruciating Quote
AyliffeMakit Posted March 23, 2015 Posted March 23, 2015 Also something worth noting about that trailer: No Lego Ideas logo in sight. Maybe a sign of getting more sets? Quote
Darth Punk Posted March 23, 2015 Posted March 23, 2015 Also something worth noting about that trailer: No Lego Ideas logo in sight. Maybe a sign of getting more sets? That's what I'm thinking. Quote
lightningtiger Posted March 23, 2015 Posted March 23, 2015 Oh, so what does that mean for the original Ideas designer......does that person still get cash for his idea or not ? At least we know perhaps which doctor it will be......and the logo too......maybe that's why there hasn't been a proper space theme this year (apart good old SW) this is waiting in the wings eh ? Quote
Robert8 Posted March 24, 2015 Posted March 24, 2015 (edited) they might give us his normal verison in a cmf line. Oh God no... The Simpsons are enough Also something worth noting about that trailer: No Lego Ideas logo in sight. Maybe a sign of getting more sets? Maybe that's why it has been delayed for so long Edited March 24, 2015 by Robert8 Quote
The Chosen Minifigure Posted March 24, 2015 Posted March 24, 2015 In response to the thoughts of possible multiple sets; Don't read too much into it. It seems unlikely they'd out the Ideas logo in a LEGO club mag, and it's not taking any longer than normal. *Goes off and desperately hopes he's wrong* Quote
