Walter Kovacs Posted February 7, 2015 Posted February 7, 2015 DAY 3: CARESS OF STEEL There is unrest in the forest There is trouble with the trees For the Maples want more sunlight And the Oaks ignore their pleas The trouble with the Maples (And they're quite convinced they're right) They say the Oaks are just too lofty And they grab up all the light Once again darkness falls on Galidor. The roar of the generators pierces the silence and the glare of artificial light fills the forest floor. Walter approaches a Dogwood tree. “Aww, it’s another sapling. Ah well, this won’t take long.” His words prove prophetic. His chainsaw roars to life, and quickly Catarina Dogwood is felled. “What’s with all these saplings?” Burt laments. “Why can’t we take down some of these nice, big trees?” “Orders are orders,” Ernie comments. “Let’s get to work.” With little effort, the pair fells Agnes Cyprus. “Ahh, finally a decent sized tree,” says Mr Big Chief. He gets to work with his axe, skillfully felling Vickory Hickory.” The next morning, Alden surveys the carnage. “You have not chosen very well, my friends. In addition to Catarina, Vicky and Agnes have also left us. All three were Oaks. “I fear that if you don’t start identifying the Maples soon, we shall all feel the caress of steel.” The NPCs: Elder Alden Alder Burt Ernie Mr Big Chief Walter The Players: Adelaide Apple, played by Tiny Pies are Us Barry Cherry, played by jluck Berty Birch, played by Dragonfire Bobby Beech, played by Lord Duvors Bruce Spruce, played by Tamamono Chester Chestnut, played by Lego Spy Clem Elm, played by Scaevola Hazel Hazelnut, played by Goliath Jack Pine, played by mostlytechnic Larry Larch, played by TheLazyChicken Lassie Sassafras, played by fhomess Maggie Magnolia, played by Calanon Nash Ash, played by Zephyr Peter Cedar, played by badboytje88 Sammy Sycamore, played by Fugazi Simon Persimmon, played by Hinckley Sue Sumac, played by Bob Waldorf Walnut, played by jamesn William Willow, played by Scubacarrot The Fallen: Alastair Pear, played by Brickelodeon – Lynched Day 1 – Alignment Unknown Lauren Laurel, played by PirateDave84 – Felled Night 1 – Oak Buck “Dollar” Poplar, played by Mencot – Felled Night 1 - Oak Catarina Dogwood, played by adventurer1 – Lynched Day 2 - Oak Agnes Cyprus, played by JackJonesPaw – Felled Night 2 - Oak Vicky Hickory, played by Stickfig – Felled Night 2 - Oak The Rules, by which we shall play: 1. Each player will be given a character to play. That character will be aligned with either the Oaks or the Maples. To win the game, the Oaks must lynch or kill off all of the Maples, while the Maples need to outnumber the voting members of the Oaks. Any Third Party characters will have their own win conditions. 2. Each day will be played out in its own topic. During the day you will be able to vote to expel (lynch) a player. Voting must be done in the following format: Vote: Character (Player). Similarly, unvoting is to be done in the format: Unvote: Character (Player). No other format will be accepted. A majority vote is required to expel (lynch) a player, meaning that over half of the remaining players must vote for the same player to warrant a lynch. 3. A game day will last for 72 hours. You may not vote in the first 24 hours. The day will end after those 72 hours. After the day has concluded, a night will commence, which will last a maximum of 48 hours. Night actions must be sent to the host in the first 24 hours of nighttime. You may not post about the game openly on Eurobricks during that time (but may continue to use private messages). 4. The alignment of lynched players, as well as those that died during the night, will be revealed at the beginning of the next day. 5. You may not quote or pretend to quote anything sent to you by the game host via PM. This includes the details of your character and role, as well as any night action results. Role claims and reporting of night action results are acceptable, but in your own words only. Do not attempt to use the structure of your role PM to your advantage. 6. You may not quote/post anything sent to you by another player via PM. If you wish to use information gained in this way, you must do so in your own words only. 7. Do not play the game outside the day threads. Similarly, do not post out-of-character inside the day threads. Game tactics and roles may only be discussed in the game thread or via PM with other players. Private discussion is done at your own risk and should be treated as part of the game. 8a. If you are a Tree Stump, you MAY (and are encouraged to) continue to take part in the Day thread discussions. Tree Stumps may not Vote, they may not use Night Actions, and they cannot be voted for or targeted at night. 8b. If you are dead, you may not post in thread or discuss the game with any of the players (living or dead). Any information you had becomes void, and may not be passed on. 9. Don't edit your posts. 10. You must post in every day thread. 11. Violation of the above rules will result in a 5-vote penalty against you on your first offense, and the death of your character on your second offense. 12. If at any time another player asks you to violate these rules (for example, asking you to give them your role PM), report this to the host immediately along with PM proof of the violation.
Hinckley Posted February 7, 2015 Posted February 7, 2015 At least we know the alignment of those who we lost. Makes me wonder again why they would janitor Alasdair on Night One if they had limited shots. Maybe their janitor was blocked?
Fugazi Posted February 7, 2015 Posted February 7, 2015 Hmpf. We're not doing so well. We sort of have a modus operandi for last night kills (Agnes felled by saw, Vicky felled by hatchet), but I don't know if it's meaningful or consistent. And we don't actually know who did what on Night One. Now more than ever, we need some help from the stumps. Who's still here?
jluck Posted February 7, 2015 Posted February 7, 2015 Hmmm...so now we have some day 1 questions answered I think. Alastair was janitored, the scum have limited shots, was Alastair scum? The alternative is the scum were just trying to through us off on day 1, but didn't consider any of the deaths important enough to janitor on day 2.
Hinckley Posted February 7, 2015 Posted February 7, 2015 As I said, another alternative is their janitor could've been blocked. There were only three posts. You can't complain that there were too many posts to read this time.
Fugazi Posted February 7, 2015 Posted February 7, 2015 Or the janitor can act only every other day. It's impossible to tell just now. I wonder if Vicky was killed because Maples thought he wouldn't be a collaborative stump, since he barely posted yesterday. If it's the case I hope he can prove them wrong. I mean she. Vicky is obviously a she-tree. Yeah.
Hinckley Posted February 7, 2015 Posted February 7, 2015 What is a collaborative stump? Hey Sammy, can you clarify what you said to me in private about groups of people sharing codes with "trusted groups of allies". That sounds odd to me. Bruce and I have had some claims and we haven't mixed any of them. Having a trusted group of allies sounds really strange.
jluck Posted February 7, 2015 Posted February 7, 2015 As I said, another alternative is their janitor could've been blocked. There were only three posts. You can't complain that there were too many posts to read this time. If this is the case, the blocker could reveal who he blocked to someone he trusts and we may just get a scum lynch today. do we still have yesterday's stumps? I didn't see anything in Walters post that indicated otherwise.
Fugazi Posted February 7, 2015 Posted February 7, 2015 What is a collaborative stump? A stump who will tell trusted Oaks about their action if any and collect claims from living trees. We need stumps active enough to get somewhere today. Hey Sammy, can you clarify what you said to me in private about groups of people sharing codes with "trusted groups of allies". That sounds odd to me. Bruce and I have had some claims and we haven't mixed any of them. Having a trusted group of allies sounds really strange. Indeed. They actually mentioned one ally, not a group. Since I'm not sure how this trust came to be (perhaps they do have the means to verify one another), I will err on the side of caution and not name anyone. On the other hand, this might be information of interest to the stumps if I can find a way of sending it through.
Hinckley Posted February 7, 2015 Posted February 7, 2015 Oh God, I just realized this means Catarina really does like the looks of asterisks in low light. what the hell? Indeed. They actually mentioned one ally, not a group. Since I'm not sure how this trust came to be (perhaps they do have the means to verify one another), I will err on the side of caution and not name anyone. On the other hand, this might be information of interest to the stumps if I can find a way of sending it through. I thought you said this person gave the same codes to more than one person. I'm pretty confident nobody should be talking to someone with the ability to verify. Unless someone in my circle is also talking to you, which would be really odd for them not to have mentioned to me or to Bruce. This person saying they have a verified ally is either not thinking this trust through or is worthy of great suspicion. Anything else pinging you about this person?
Scaevola Posted February 7, 2015 Posted February 7, 2015 So Catarina was an oak The fact that nobody was janitored is refreshing. Which means it's likely to be a limited shot ability. I'll agree it's possible the blocker blocked the janitor, and I agree they should claim to a mouthpiece to divulge their blocking target for last night. However, it's day 2, and therefore quite possible the janitor has limited shots. Unless the blocked tree can be dually incriminated with some other evidence/anecdotes, we shouldn't be too swift to found a lynch off it.
Fugazi Posted February 7, 2015 Posted February 7, 2015 This person saying they have a verified ally is either not thinking this trust through or is worthy of great suspicion. Anything else pinging you about this person? They didn't say their ally is verified, only trusted them with their code for some reason. There might be a valid reason for that, I will try to find out.
Hinckley Posted February 7, 2015 Posted February 7, 2015 Ok. Thanks. I still don't understand what you're saying about the codes they gave. They revealed the codes they sent to one player also to another player?
Fugazi Posted February 7, 2015 Posted February 7, 2015 Ok. Thanks. I still don't understand what you're saying about the codes they gave. They revealed the codes they sent to one player also to another player? Yup. One player being me.
Hinckley Posted February 7, 2015 Posted February 7, 2015 That is confounding. Even if I trust, moor example, you and Bruce. I would keep your codes separate, that's the point of the codes Pardon my iPad English.
TheLazyChicken Posted February 7, 2015 Posted February 7, 2015 Nooo!!! I was hoping for there to have been a dead maple. I wonder why Vicky was killed. If he was a vigilante kill it could be for him being quiet. If it was a scum kill, I really don't know an explanation for that.
StickFig Posted February 7, 2015 Posted February 7, 2015 I'm still a stump! Yeahhhhhhh baby! Me too! Yeahhhhhhhh baby! I wonder if Vicky was killed because Maples thought he wouldn't be a collaborative stump, since he barely posted yesterday. If it's the case I hope he can prove them wrong. I mean she. Vicky is obviously a she-tree. Yeah. I don't even know who I am anymore.... I don't have a whole lot to share, unfortunately. If the scum killed me it was either because of what Sammy Sycamore said, or possibly because Chester Chestnut is a scaridy Maple, afraid that what I said yesterday might catch on.
TheLazyChicken Posted February 7, 2015 Posted February 7, 2015 Also the fact that the stumps are still here with us makes me think that the maples have a big advantage. I don't even know who I am anymore.... I don't have a whole lot to share, unfortunately. If the scum killed me it was either because of what Sammy Sycamore said, or possibly because Chester Chestnut is a scaridy Maple, afraid that what I said yesterday might catch on. Interesting, if what you said about Chester is true, I think I know who our maple-y fiend is...
Piratedave84 Posted February 7, 2015 Posted February 7, 2015 Looks like the stumps could be around for a while and I can tell you that at least 3 of us were vanilla. I still have to talk to everyone but seeing that we'll probably stick around, I think the code thing can be forgotten and we will most likely form our own 'block' which will liaise through the thread.
JackJonespaw Posted February 7, 2015 Posted February 7, 2015 Agh, I've been sawed! Looks like the stumps could be around for a while and I can tell you that at least 3 of us were vanilla. I still have to talk to everyone but seeing that we'll probably stick around, I think the code thing can be forgotten and we will most likely form our own 'block' which will liaise through the thread. Something still feels unfair about the Day 2 stumps remaining on. Maybe it's a two day thing? Who knows. The alive oaks need to start finding them Maples, and fast. I don't even know who I am anymore.... I don't have a whole lot to share, unfortunately. If the scum killed me it was either because of what Sammy Sycamore said, or possibly because Chester Chestnut is a scaridy Maple, afraid that what I said yesterday might catch on. These kills have so far have seemed pretty random. Should we look back to see who had a feud with us while we were trees? It's a starting point, at least.
Yzalirk Posted February 7, 2015 Posted February 7, 2015 These kills have so far have seemed pretty random. Should we look back to see who had a feud with us while we were trees? It's a starting point, at least. I agree with this. It's certainly not going to give us an answer but it's a good lead for now. Should we see who voted against Vicky and/or Agnes or see who they may have clashed against?
Lady K Posted February 7, 2015 Posted February 7, 2015 I am a stump! I have a thought, that I would like to share about Alistair being janitored. Is it possible, because he is now planted outside the forest, that he was janitor because he has revive or is a restless spirit?
JackJonespaw Posted February 8, 2015 Posted February 8, 2015 I agree with this. It's certainly not going to give us an answer but it's a good lead for now. Should we see who voted against Vicky and/or Agnes or see who they may have clashed against? There only vote against any of us was Berty's vote against me in Day 1.
