I agree with this.

It's certainly not going to give us an answer but it's a good lead for now. Should we see who voted against Vicky and/or Agnes or see who they may have clashed against?

No one's stopping you from looking into that. You don't need anyone's permission.

To Agnes: I'm 751.

Interesting, if what you said about Chester is true, I think I know who our maple-y fiend is...

Care to share?

Something still feels unfair about the Day 2 stumps remaining on. Maybe it's a two day thing? Who knows. The alive oaks need to start finding them Maples, and fast.

Pardon me, stump, but since you are still active in this forest I think part of the burden of finding maples lies on your roots as well as ours.

Indeed. They actually mentioned one ally, not a group. Since I'm not sure how this trust came to be (perhaps they do have the means to verify one another), I will err on the side of caution and not name anyone. On the other hand, this might be information of interest to the stumps if I can find a way of sending it through.

Should be easy enough - just make several pairings, and all but one use fake code words/numbers. So if the truth is that D talked to E, then post that (123) A talked to B and (345) B talked to A and (567) D talked to E and state that the numbers are NOT to identify roles, but just to identify which pairing is true. (assuming here that 567 was a code number you actually used for something). You'd want to make it a big list so there's nothing for anyone else to go on. If you just did 3, people would start to think about which was real.

Looks like the stumps could be around for a while and I can tell you that at least 3 of us were vanilla.

I still have to talk to everyone but seeing that we'll probably stick around, I think the code thing can be forgotten and we will most likely form our own 'block' which will liaise through the thread.

No, the codes are even more valuable since you stick around. We all should claim to the stumps today (I will as soon as I go pull up my file of codes from my other machine) and then you all can start compiling and looking for anything unbelievable.

To the stumps (since I gave everyone unique codes):

Catarina, I'm 74.

Agnes, I'm 46.

Vicky, I'm 61.

It's the same info for you all, just saves a round of PMs of one of you telling the others.

This still confuses me. If maples sent out codes too, then couldn't they use them to try to claim? How would we tell the difference?

I have a title!

I have a title!

The goal would be for the maples to claim too, but for the stumps to watch for duplicate claims to catch maples claiming roles they don't have. This is the game for new titles...welcome to the club! (That title will have a great story for ya  )

^^^ What he said. That's why we need EVERYONE to claim so the stumps can compile and see if anything doesn't make sense.

(and don't you all DARE start a bandwagon on me for using carets!!!)

Ok. Thanks. I still don't understand what you're saying about the codes they gave. They revealed the codes they sent to one player also to another player?

I guess that might have been me...

I send the same list of codes out to multiple people... facebranch!

Are you guys allowed to PM each other? If so, that does simplifies things.

Now here's my claim -- but you stumps make sure not to divulge this unless there's a good reason to it and to verified Oaks only.

Here are the final votes from yesterday:

Catarina Dogwood (adventurer1) - 16 (jamesn, Hinckley, JackJonespaw, jluck, Scaevola, Lego Spy, Bob, Lord Duvors, Fugazi, Goliath, Dragonfire, TheLazyChicken, badboytje88, fhomess, mostlytechnic, Tamamono)

Chester Chestnut - 3 (StickFig, Zepher, Calanon)

Nash Ash (Zepher) - 1 (TinyPiesRUs)

Maggie Magnolia (Calanon) - 1 (Scubacarrot)

Barry Cherry (jluck) - 1 (adventurer1)

There is 1 Hour left in Day 2. With 22 Players, it takes 12 votes to lynch.

These are the final votes from Day One:

Alastair Pear - 15 (Stickfig, Tamamono, Scaevola, Lord Duvors, jamesn, Lego Spy, PirateDave84, Zepher, Calanon, Bob, Hinckley, adventurer1, jluck, TinyPiesRUs, Mencot)

Bruce Spruce - 8 (Scubacarrot, Fugazi, Penalty, Penalty, Penalty, Penalty, Penalty, fhomess)

Bobby Beech - 5 (Penalty, Penalty, Penalty, Penalty, Penalty)

Catarina Dogwood - 2 ( Brickelodeon, Goliath)

Hazel Hazelnut - 2 (badboytje88, mostlytechnic)

Chester Chestnut - 1 (TheLazyChicken)

Agnes Cyprus - 1 (Dragonfire)

Berty Birch - 1 (JackJonespaw)

There is 1 Hour left in Day 1. It takes 13 votes to lynch.

I've marked the confirmed oaks (our cohort of stumps) in green.

I've noticed something interesting. Larry Larch has some hardwood for Chester Chestnut. Today, he's said so, and on Day One, Larry voted for Chester. Interestingly, the person who immediately discounted the possibility of a third-party kill (jumping to vig or scum only) was Chester yesterday, but Larry today. Yesterday, Larry was the one who put the hammering 12th vote on the now confirmed oak, Catarina Dogwood. And, when he placed that vote, he mentioned Chester:

You just got caught in a lie. You haven't been the only person who has been targeted. Chester has also been targeted, not only you. This lack of a defense on this makes you look maple-y.

Also, I am interested that Maggie voted right after Nash, both days, first for Alastair and then for Chester. Were they bussing a scumbuddy?

What the man says - a lot of you, I'm sure, threw out your codes to us stumps. Let's hear 'em, eh?

I, ermmm, none of the people I sent codes to are currently stumps.

There's a few possibilities about the scum janitor:

1) The scum janitor was blocked

2) The scum have a limited number of janitorial moves and they decided not to go out last night

3) The scum are forced to alternate

4) The janitor move was a one-time deal and the scum are all noobs and they wasted it the first night

There's also the chance that if Alistair was scum, then the scum trees are taken away so only Oak stumps can remain in the forest.

I have a thought, that I would like to share about Alistair being janitored. Is it possible, because he is now planted outside the forest, that he was janitor because he has revive or is a restless spirit?

If he was revived, wouldn't he have been planted back in the forest? Also, restless spirits are usually able to return to the day thread and post once. There hasn't been a restless spirit in a game in a long long time though. I suppose maybe we'll find out today if he is a restless spirit, but I doubt it.

Ok. Thanks. I still don't understand what you're saying about the codes they gave. They revealed the codes they sent to one player also to another player?

I did that as well initially, although not with Sammy. To the players that I sent codes to - disregard them. I'll start coming up with new ones for the players that haven't given me their own set.

What the man says - a lot of you, I'm sure, threw out your codes to us stumps. Let's hear 'em, eh?

I didn't send codes / get codes from any of these three stumps. I'll be sending out a set of different codes to everyone who hasn't told me theirs / hasn't gotten any from me very shortly.

I don't think I had codes with any dead trees. Catalina, did you and I have codes at the end there? I think we spent some time making fun of codes, but none actually doing any.

If the stumps can communicate via PM, they should all be in a big PM conversation that they invite people to as they die. That's how a real town bloc will be formed.

Here's my claim to the stumps;

Vicky- 11T

Catarina- 68

Agnes- 2

Looking at the votes from the last two days, I noticed that these people have joined the previous two bandwagons that resulted in the lynch for that day. Waldorf, Simon, Barry, William, Chester, Sue, Bobby, and Bruce were those people. I am sure that there is at least one scum in that group of people.

No, we never traded codes.

I agree, this could help us so that they could gather all their information and see who could be a maple.

Yeah, this is why I said to send codes to EVERYONE so that no matter WHO got stumped, you'd have communication. Since we know 100% that our stumps are oaks, we need to use that to our full advantage. But now we can't.

And to everyone - remember that codes can also be used to mislead. For example, I could say hey Catarina, Joe claimed #43 to me in a PM. That could mean something, or it could be total crap and the stumps would know it because I never gave Catarina "43" as a code for anything. Like I suggested earlier, make a list of statemens where only 1 is true and the rest use fake codes so we can say things without the maples gleaning any hints from it.

I don't even know who I am anymore.... I don't have a whole lot to share, unfortunately. If the scum killed me it was either because of what Sammy Sycamore said, or possibly because Chester Chestnut is a scaridy Maple, afraid that what I said yesterday might catch on.

Interesting, if what you said about Chester is true, I think I know who our maple-y fiend is...

Some people seem to agree that Vicky's argument against me from yesterday was pretty good. Let's take a look at it...

Yep, and this was good enough to get my vote, except that Chester happened....

This was the 6th vote against Alastair. Below is the 8th vote against Catarina.

So I suppose you just wait until a tree has five or six votes against them, and then pounce on that bandwagon for obvious reasons, because aw, what the heck.

Vote: Chester Chestnut (Lego Spy)

Correction: His was the 6th vote both times.

Oh no, is it catching on?... :sarcasm_hmpf:

This is your typical, run-of-the-mill "you bandwagoned, you're scum" claim. It seems to be a rather frequent occurrence.

Also, I'm sorry, but even if I was scum, I'm not dumb enough to kill someone for saying something like this about me.

Lastly, Larry, why were you so quick to agree with what Vicky said?

Posted

Actually, thinking about it, I don't think scum would be so dumb to do that. This still doesn't make you an oak but this does make you look less maple-y.

Lastly, Larry, why were you so quick to agree with what Vicky said?

It had made sense at first that you could do that if you were a maple, but now you cleared it up a little.

Yep, they'll all just claim vanilla though, which will (maybe) narrow things down a bit.

"Oh crap, Larry, they're on to us! Better get a little distance!"

"Ok, Chester, that should be far enough."

All those who have claimed to me via code, I acknowledge your claims.

I agree with Vick the Stump - you have to be willing to contribute yourself, not just vomit out orders.

What a scummy post: fishing and then two middle fingers to the other trees.

Larry indicated he had a lead on a maple.... If anything, he is the scummy one for not sharing. I wasn't "fishing" at all. Also, did you miss the part where Adelaide also told Hazel to get his branches to work?

Um, well, I'm not sure how to put this...

You have a burden as well, an even larger one, at that.

I agree with Vick the Stump - you have to be willing to contribute yourself, not just vomit out orders.

I am sure that many groupings of eight people would have one Scum in them. So, what do you think joining Alasdair's bandwagon means since we still don't know his affiliation? Is there any other insight you have into my or the seven other listed player's behavior that makes you think one of us is Scum? This is one of the fluffiest statements I've seen.
