Indeed, as the energy construction aspect of the Green Lantern Corps mythology is what makes those comics such a great fit for the spirit of the LEGO System! Now that you bring that element up again, I lament that they haven't utilized those characters more. 4 hours ago, J4ck said: I’d be awesome to see Dr Fate’s helmet piece, could be useful. Just this year brought my favorite DC character yet: Firestorm! Sure, he's no Woozy Winks, but that's still a pretty deep cut for a brand that keeps churning out Batman. Personally, I'd love any and all DC characters, cuz that's my jam. Atrocitus? Hell yeah! Ma Hunkel? Alright! Woozy Winks? FINALLY! But repeating the same point ad infinitum does nothing but annoy your peers. We totally understand how you feel, but you have to try to understand how WE feel. (But I want Dr. Fate more than ANYTHING.) Amen. This is my biggest gripe with licensed forums, the double whammy of people who are fans of two things leads to some pretty intense and entrenched views on pretty minor things. Screeds and screeds of pages on the wrong sword mould in LOTR, grown men in apoplectic tears over the lack of leg printing, or the repeated calls for your own one must have *NEED* and your own ideas of what’s right. Like everyone I have my own list of figures I’d like to have but it’s also amazed me how many of these we have already got over the past few years. I’m totally down for Dr Fate though. Now that I’ve got Blue Beetle, Firestorm, Cheetah, Black Manta and Black Canary safely banked ;) Quote

MakkaG15 Posted May 30, 2018 Posted May 30, 2018 So many new minifig designs from the lego dc villains trailer! deathstroke, grodd, ivy and the joker all have new outfits which will hopefully appear in future sets heres the trailer and a website with info for those who havent seen it yet http://chaos-is-coming.wbgames.com/ with the website go on the media section for some awesome looking pics from the game Quote
Duncan Young Posted May 30, 2018 Posted May 30, 2018 That new Joker is probably coming out next year. Deathstroke seems too detailed for a retail set, although I would've said the same thing about Deadshot and Green Goblin in 2016. As for the others, Ivy seems possible but frankly I've had enough Ivy figs for a while, Riddler too. I can't see us getting the Crime Syndicate you kinda need all of them to actually do anything with. Quote
TheBrickBuilder14 Posted May 30, 2018 Posted May 30, 2018 (edited) Based on the images I've seen I wouldn't be surprised if this Rebirth version of Deathstroke that we see on the game cover is going to be the DC Comic Con exclusive. The character has drastically risen in popularity the past few years and this figure looks extremely detailed. Edited May 30, 2018 by TheBrickBuilder14 Quote
Falconfan1414 Posted May 30, 2018 Posted May 30, 2018 The crime syndicate or justice syndicate I think they are called is made up of grid, johnny quick, superwoman, ultraman, sea king, owlman, and power ring for anyone wondering Quote

To be fair, DC's made a real stride lately in putting other characters in the forefront enough to be marketable. Cyborg and Aquaman just made their cinematic debut, we just got a 52-episode season of a cartoon spotlighting a lot of DC's B-Z list characters, and the direct-to-video stuff like Batman Unlimited and the Lego movies have given attention to some great characters beyond the usual four (jeez, it feels like yesterday there was only a "usual one"!) Personally, I don't see why their current formula of One Batman/Superman/Flash per 2 Other Guys couldn't be the norm. That's gotten us Blue Beetle, Firestorm, Lobo, Krypto, Batwoman, OMAC, all sorts of great figures, and returns decent enough that I at least haven't heard about them. DC just needs to figure out how to revitalize its IPs to make the brand itself marketable again (or at least fix Green Lantern's rep, because really, he's a merchandising department's dream come true if they'd get a good project with that name on it!) Granted, I thought the same things about Superman and Blue Beetle in that order last time and here we are. I'm hoping/expecting us to see the Crime Syndicate next year now. We haven't gotten a DC game before that didn't have the main antagonist(s) on the shelf, and this would be a strange exception. Splitting them across two or three sets seems feasible, and like an easy sell - they're evil versions of the Justice League, what kid isn't into that? The villain focus of this game does give me a feeling that we won't be seeing too many new heroes next year, though. That new Catwoman doesn't use the LBM mask mold, so that's probably not coming. I'd give my left kidney for that Livewire, but she's got a new hairpiece, so that's two points against it That Riddler would make good use of the existing hat and the question mark piece from the LBM sets, but it's also that weird War of Jokes and Riddles design, so I'm gonna say "hopefully not" to that one. The use of an existing mold for Mercy's hat makes me hopeful that they'll include her, but we just got a Lex set and I doubt they'd want to do two, let alone one with his assistant as a selling point. That Jim Gordon figure looks really good, he could maybe get tossed into a Batman set. The only thing interesting I noticed in the character customization bit was a pink ray gun that looks like it could be Toyman's, but that's about it as far as relevancy to possible future sets. Quote
RedHoodPug Posted May 30, 2018 Posted May 30, 2018 @Numbuh1Nerd I would be happy to see a villain centric wave. I know that my bad guy display is well attended but there is always room for more. A Forever Evil based line would give better odds of seeing Black Adam and Bizarro, and indirectly the Grundy and Copperhead figs currently in limbo. Quote

They should make a set take takes advantage of the fact that Catwoman is neither fully a heroine nor fully a villainess. In many adult oriented Batman media in recent years she is often used as an ally of Batman's. I would love a Mxyzptlk figure. It would be perfect for annoying my three Superman figures (four if you count Clark Kent). Trigon needs to be made too. Quote
Falconfan1414 Posted May 31, 2018 Posted May 31, 2018 There is an image of Grundy from the game, you can only hope it wasn’t what the rumored figure was going to look like because if the figure was going to look like that lego did a terrible service by removing him from the batmobile Quote

I'd love for this to be the case just like with this years January wave but then some classic updated villains and maybe some new ones (looking at you Grundy) vs the Crime Syndicate. It would please us comic book fans since we could finally get the Crime Syndicate and children would also understand what they are getting because they have the game still fresh in their memory. Win-win in my book :) Quote

benderisgreat Posted May 31, 2018 Posted May 31, 2018 With trailer for Dc Supervillians it’s time to guess which characters from game make it into sets in 2019! New Joker with vest is most likely candidate, since Lex and Harley both appeared in sets before. New Grodd with armor, seems possible, but I’d give it 50% chance of happening. Quote
Duncan Young Posted May 31, 2018 Posted May 31, 2018 (edited) I think a lot of the physical figs we'll get will be minor characters. For example, out of LB3's main villains, we got Brainiac and Sinestro in 2015. None of the other Lanterns, Cheetah, Croc, Grundy or Firefly but we got Manta, Snart and Grodd, who didn't play a role in the main story. So out of everyone we've seen so far I believe we'll get Joker, Ivy, Riddler, the latter two I don't expect to play a large role. Maybe Grundy. Just reminding you all we didn't get a New 52 Superman despite being in LB3 and all of the animated films since the Legion of Doom one Edited May 31, 2018 by Duncan Young Quote

I'm not saying I want him either (although the torso would work well for Gotham's 'Joker') but they already have the 2012 and 2015 Joker designs to pull from which are better for classic versions and unlike the Grodd or Slade designs, this one isn't so detailed that he's unlikely to be made- he just uses a new torso and arm printing. If it were just a TT Games design, they would have probably been more inventive than that Quote
JosiahJVL Posted June 1, 2018 Posted June 1, 2018 (edited) Maybe with the new villains game we will get new characters (villains) I don’t Want a new joker but we probably will get one Bc he hasn’t came in a set for quite some time now and, we will probably see a Grundy figure Bc he was rumored but never fully came out in a set so maybe he got pushed back for 2018, and I hate to be a party pooper but I highly dought we will see the crime syndicate in any set, but maybe ultra man as a exclusive figure to a book or something. However according to what I’ve heard from the game we will see more villains that we haven’t seen in the trailer yet and they have a pretty big role in the game so maybe we will get those figures and the poison ivy and gorilla grodd and Harley might come out in a 2019 set wouldn’t be surprised if they didn’t and, we will be able to play a hero quest mode in the game so I think we will get some cool dc superhero figures too, like kid flash, guy Gardner ;) (sorry I had to) and hopefully a new Superman suit And I strongly think that they may just put a new Shazam figure in a JL based 2019 set instead of macking one for the movie me personally would like that way more that a Shazam centric set Edited June 1, 2018 by JosiahJVL Quote

I don't know why they don't try making a green lantern DTV film for the DC animated movies universe. The people in charge of writing and directing those movies would be able to pull off a great film for the corps. There's got to be some GL storyline they could adapt. The DC animated films are much better received than the Live action GL film was and they're more successful too. If there was any way to improve Green Lantern's reputation, that would be it. Quote
