I'd know I'd do anything to get my hands on that minifigure, it's still one of my favorite Batsuit designs that Lego has made to date. Sorry, but, I just can't help but think of all of Forrest Whaley's old brickfilms whenever I see that minifigure. Quote

A perfect excuse for Lego to release updated versions of the 2006-2008 Batman sets (Harley Quinn Hammer Truck, Two Face Van, Joker Ice Cream Truck, Penguin Submarine, etc.) actually, the 7884 Batman Buggy was my first ever Lego set Also, I know this is off topic but does it make anyone else mad that somehow the Teen Titans Go Movie looks better than the live action Titans show coming out in fall Edited July 22, 2018 by Mountain Drew Quote

If Lego does make an updated fig for this design, it probably won't be until mid 2019, because the one January set they revealed had Batman in his Rebirth suit. Of course if you're impatient for a Hush batsuit (like me), I recently made a custom fig that is meant to look like the 2006 batsuit. I'll leave some links to the pieces I used. TheBrickBuilder14 Posted July 22, 2018 Posted July 22, 2018 Managed to grab a decent shot of Merlyn as he is going to appear in the upcoming game and I really, really hope we'll get a physical figure of him. I absolutely love his design! Quote
RedHoodPug Posted July 22, 2018 Posted July 22, 2018 @TheBrickBuilder14 definite shades of John Barrowman, but I can forgive that for a new character. Quote

I can see what you mean, but to be honest the LB3 version of Malcolm Merlyn was incorrect given that his suit in the Arrow show is actually dark brown as opposed to gray as it is in the game. I do agree that the face is more like Barrowman Merlyn then the classic comic book Merlyn (or juiced Vincent Price as you so hilariously say it :)). Edited July 22, 2018 by TheBrickBuilder14 Quote

Haha, yeah he was my favorite character on the show so I have done way more research on his character than I probably should have :P I also figured out that the concept art for Arrow did portray Merlyn as being gray and I believe that is why Lego made him gray in the game as well. Anyway I think that was probably enough on Merlyn from me as others are probably getting Merlyn fatigue by now ;) Quote

I’d rather they made sets inspired by rather than a tie-in, especially with TT because of their portrayal. Both shows gave such a range of characters to play with as well as scenarios. For example they keep pushing the Flash yet don’t give the Kid a chance. The list may not be endless, but the potential is great and largely untapped. Quote

I'd imagine that not only those two shows, but also the more mature, live-action Titans TV show may propel designers to cook up some comic-based sets inspired after those characters, as their increased media presence could make such sets more sellable than before perhaps. Mountain Drew Posted July 23, 2018 Posted July 23, 2018 I wouldn't be surprised if they just placed the characters from Titans in a regular set like they did with the Suicide Squad, since both are more mature-themed. But I would even go so far as to expect Young Justice characters like Kid Flash, Superboy, Aqualad, Artemis, Black Canary, and even Miss Martian to appear in future sets. Quote

She hasn't been a true villainess in over 30 years. I wish they'd make a Daily Planet newsroom set. It could come with Superman, Comics Lois Lane, Comics Jimmy Olsen, Comics accurate Perry White, comics style Cat Grant (she and Perry are white in the comics) a random villain (Probably either Lex Luthor or Bizarro or even Mr. Mxyzptlk) A Plastic Man set including Woozy Winks would be cool too. Mountain Drew Posted July 30, 2018 Posted July 30, 2018 Just to start a discussion, I heard that The Batman is to be based on the Year One story arc, maybe we could get a minifig based on the Year One costume. Also, Andy Serkis is supposed to be the Penguin in the movie, so there is potential to see him return as a minifig. Quote
TheBatstan Posted July 30, 2018 Posted July 30, 2018 I wouldn't put too much stock into those rumors, the guy who originally posted the whole "Year One" thing has a TERRIBLE track record. Frankly, the only info you should 100% trust is the one that comes from Matt Reeves. Quote

Frankly, the only info you should 100% trust is the one that comes from Matt Reeves. Well even if the Year One thing isn't true, I heard that its at least based on a younger Batman (Not Batfleck), so if they're going to use a different actor to play Bruce Wayne, they're probably going to use another suit to differentiate, and since the DCEU batsuit that we've seen since BvS is based on The Dark Knight Returns comic (in which Batman fights Superman in one sequence) there is still a good possibility that we could get a Year One-based batsuit in the movie, for lore reasons. I don't know if we're getting a set based on the movie, since the movie doesn't come out until like 2020, all I'm saying is its possible. And even if we don't get a set based on the movie, we could still get the Year One batsuit in a different set, like they did with the thrasher batsuit in the Attack Of The Talons set. But again, all I'm saying is its possible. Quote
RedHoodPug Posted July 30, 2018 Posted July 30, 2018 I really hope we don’t get a Year One based film. It shows a massive lack of imagination and faith in the audience. Quote

They'll probably just take elements from Year One and other stories and just mix them in to the story, like they did with the Dark Knight trilogy. I'll keep an open mind until I see some footage or set photos or even a cast. Plus Andy Serkis is in talks to be involved, and he seems to know what hes doing. After all, he was in Star Wars, Black Panther, Planet of the Apes, Lord of the Rings, etc. But anyway, back to the Lego discussion. Quote
BlueberryWaffles Posted July 30, 2018 Posted July 30, 2018 I'm really hoping with all the focus on Teen Titans lately, with the TTG movie, the old show returning, and the new live-action show, that we finally get a comic styled Raven to complete the Titans. The TTG one is serviceable, but I know they can make a better head for her. Quote

If I were you and interested in maintaining your sanity, I'd look at every rumor and unofficial report about that movie and immediately forget about it. It was supposed to be about Batman breaking out of Arkham, now it's Year One, we've had six different villains at any given time with three different actors playing them at any given time, and don't even get me started on how often Ben Affleck either is or is not involved. It's like informational whiplash. Although, if anyone is gonna play a cockney, lanky Penguin, it might as well be Andy Serkis. I think we've had just about enough Penguin minifigs for a bit, though, imo - between LBM's '89 inspired design, the '66 design, two kinds of classic Penguins in the same year....are there any Penguin variants we haven't gotten that aren't unrecognizably different? 3 hours ago, BlueberryWaffles said: I'm really hoping with all the focus on Teen Titans lately, with the TTG movie, the old show returning, and the new live-action show, that we finally get a comic styled Raven to complete the Titans. By next year, we'll have Teen Titans Go!, Teen Titans Go! to the Movies on DVD, Young Justice season 3, Teen Titans season 6, Titans, not to mention DCUO's latest Teen Titans update and a brand new Teen Titans lineup in the comics. If we don't see the Titans in sets in a significant way next year (i.e. not just Robin and Cyborg again) then I'd say DC has absolutely no input on which characters wind up in sets, just the designs. They're betting really hard on the Titans right now and there's no way that won't be reflected in the merchandising end. ...hopefully, anyway. We really do need a proper Raven, and a Kid Flash, a Wonder Girl, an Aqualad, and a Speedy. LEGO has been shockingly sidekick-light for too long and next year is the year of the sidekick if there ever was one. Quote

I just read the director of the movie, Matt Reeves, just said he's officially working on the script, and filming should begin next year, sometime in the summer. And I was wrong, he said its not just an adaption of Year One, but its like a noir-style investigation. He also said that hes looking back on his favorite stories to gain inspiration, so there is still a chance we could see a new costume. Also I don't know if this really means anything, but he said hes still in talks with Ben Affleck, so he could still be Batman maybe? I'm sure as soon as I say this an article would come out saying something like "Ben Affleck is officially not in The Batman". Here's the link to the article in case anyone wants to read it for themselves: http://www.syfy.com/syfywire/the-batman-director-matt-reeves-script-and-production-update Quote
