Absolutely adore this, to the point I want to build my own. Any chance of further information as to your building method, or even some form of instructions?

This is amazing! If Lego made more City and Creator boats like this, my allowance would be sucked dryer than a desert. You have to put this on Lego Ideas. The shaping of the hull is good, the details are good, and the only gripes I have are that it's a tiny bit small, and some of the slightly illegal part connections. I'd love to see larger vessels built with this method. Just imagine a Lego Creator Cruise Ship built with this method. This is absolutely perfect.

Glad you like it! Sorry, there are no instructions. It's difficult to tell something about the building method, since it's usually rather chaotic, but I try to work on the whole structure from the beginning rather than starting with a certain aspect. I built the hull (see above) first and then used some quickly built dummies to mimic the superstructure to get an impression of the proportions and dimensions. Anyhow it's nice to have something to relate to (like I had Joshua's boat) to see if you're on the right track. If you want to have a lighting its crucial that you take it into account in an early state to keep enough room for lamps and wires. Hope that helps, if there are special questions, just ask.

Thank you very much! To be honest, I'm no fan of Ideas as a builder (other than as a customer) for several reasons. A hull like this would never pass, same for quite a few details. The result would be a completely different design (see Ecto-1).If this MOC inspires other builders to create similar boats (like Joshua's design inspired me) I'm already happy.

Very nice yacht... I would see well around the Venice's canals.

Thank you very much! Didn't think of Venice, but yeah, it surely would look nice there, too. Ah, Venice ...

Wow, this is a beautiful MOC ER0L! Not much that hasn't been said, but I absolutely love the look of this. Very well done :classic:

Many thanks, glad you like it!

Genius work that tricks you into thinking the hull is a single moulded piece. Wonderful!

Thanks a lot!

Many thanks all for commenting and viewing!

This is a beautifully detailed and well-proportioned model. I really love it.

Thanks a lot!

Holy ship that's nice! I didn't even think a curve that smoothly was even possible.

Glad you like it!

Very great feel to this model. Smooth and has a lot of character. I'd say you captured the intended subject perfectly!

Many thanks!

Again, many thanks all!

Wowser! You nailed the shape with such awesome curves! The lifeboat and deck chairs are so easy on the eyes.

Perfect for navigating the circling the islands and dinner along the canals of Venice and docking at St. Peter's for an espresso. Ladies, now pull out your Grace Kelly outfit, tie your matching headscarf, unpack those sunglasses, and climb aboard! (I know she was famous in the 50's and later, but she would have looked dynamite in your boat.)

Glad you like it! Thanks a lot for all those nice impressions, they correspond exactly to what I had in mind - something glamourous. Maybe this young lady will be found sooner or later partying on board the yacht. She definitely needs some sunglasses though ...

It's a gorgeous yacht, and particularly the shaping of the hull is very cleverly done, with a beautiful result. Very, very impressive!

Instantly reminded me of the Wanda III - in terms of style and colours. Obviously not the narrow double-decker.

On this side of the pond we don't have much in the way of steamships or Steam powered Yachts left - how about over there??

Here the Noronic disaster acted to swiftly and brutally destroy any steamships still lingering on our interior lakes in the 1950's.

There are some similarities but this vessel is no steam powered yacht. Usually the commuter yachts of the Twenties and Thirties had twin diesel engines and were very fast. Regarding steam ships: Quite a few of them are already existing in Germany, mainly as passenger ships on lakes and rivers.

Very tidy colour scheme, must have taken ages to get in all those details.

Thank you! It took about six weeks to build the yacht.

I'm straying pretty far from home waters here, but I'm glad I did. This was quite a treat to find. Great lines, nice application of technique and an overall great design. It's a very clean, streamlined sort of boat, but you've worked in a lot of subtle detail. It's no stretch to say she brightened my day. Thank you for sharing her!

One question; what part did you use for the door?

I dont remember if I have commented on this one yet, but I have certainly been following the build from earlier WIP photos. (I always follow any "curved-hull" construction with the most interest)

It´s a very lovely boat, full of interresting and well-done detials! A first class build!
