July 29, 20159 yr Congratulations! Great accomplishment. Are you going to make a similar WIP thread for the Grove? I do hope so, I very much enjoyed this one.
July 29, 20159 yr This is amazing, and I am amazed. I've been following this (like everyone else) with great interest. To say you have come up with some creative solutions to building dilemmas would be an understatement! Most importantly of all I hope you and your grandchildren get a lot of time to play with the U42009S. I think you've earned it...
July 29, 20159 yr Author I truly must congratulate you on the amazing accomplishment! 131 build hours! Mind blown! I also want to thank you, it's been great reading through this post, had a lot of fun! Thank you, I've had a lot of fun building it. Congrats mine friend and this is a mile stone for your prestation to build this ultimate 42009  As always, you're very kind. Thank you Edwin. Congratulations Grum64! I was wondering why there hasn't been an update on this project and now you gave the answer. I'm in awe of your perseverance and strong will. Kudos, my friend. Thank you Bart. Yeah! This is amazing, and I am amazed. I've been following this (like everyone else) with great interest. To say you have come up with some creative solutions to building dilemmas would be an understatement! Most importantly of all I hope you and your grandchildren get a lot of time to play with the U42009S. I think you've earned it... Thank you. Jake & George have been testing the lifting capacity. Apparently it's great for lifting various items of fruit, one of 4yr old Georges shoes, Grums trouser leg & hastily built Lego creations, but no good at all for lifting little Sisters! Congratulations! Great accomplishment. Are you going to make a similar WIP thread for the Grove? I do hope so, I very much enjoyed this one. Thank you very much. As for the Grove, I'd be good to do a WIP thread. I'm still collecting the parts needed. I've got another 2 42009's so have a lot of what's needed, it's just getting everything else. In the mean time I've a 42030 (amongst many, many others) I'd like to build. Congratulations on completing this complex model . Now what's the next challenge? I'm sure whatever it is you can conquer it Thank you. The next challenge? In time I'd like to build the Grove but until I have all the parts I've a 42030 to build.
July 29, 20159 yr Impressively aesthetic and functional outcome on what looked to be a greuling build, well done! I admire your focus.
July 29, 20159 yr Author Great to see the final results, Need to get me some of them Jack Stone minifigs Thank you. I'd not thought about using minifigures at all let alone Jack Stone ones. Jake wanted the crane to have people in it for his pictures and chose them. I think they're pretty good scale wise. Impressively aesthetic and functional outcome on what looked to be a greuling build, well done! I admire your focus. Thank you. Edited July 30, 20159 yr by grum64

I can't take any credit for the figures. They're the (very good) idea of Jake, our 8yr old Grandson. I think he may inadvertently have started a rush on them as I've had several PM's about them.

August 1, 20159 yr Awesome work! Following this thread and your work really makes me thinking about building this creation. I have a 42009 in its box and the Ultimate version looks so much cooler than the original.

I have a 42009 in its box and the Ultimate version looks so much cooler than the original. Thank you. If you have the parts I'd recommend building the Ultimate version, it's a great build with not too much repetition. I'm hope you'll have as much fun building it as I did. January 2, 20169 yr Author Wow Grum, That is a nice Dentist you have. It's been a long while I know but following a visit to my Dentist today I came away with not only a clean bill of health but a belated Christmas present... No more chipped teeth. Thank you Andy. January 2, 20169 yr It's been a long while I know but following a visit to my Dentist today I came away with not only a clean bill of health but a belated Christmas present... Hi Grum All the best for the new year. I use a pair of these for removing blue axle ended pins and axles and I use them for holding bushes and small gears to fit it tight places. No more chipped teeth. Thank you Andy.
January 2, 20169 yr Author Thank you for your New Year good wishes. May your 2016 be blessed with copious amounts of LEGO and the time to build it.
January 2, 20169 yr Author Cool build. Was there no video? You've seen my photography skills (or lack thereof) and you still want video?!?! You should've gone to Specsavers Edited January 2, 20169 yr by grum64
