Do you intend on buying a set off Ebay, Island boy?

And yes, we have seen loads of sets. We can just go to the website you've provided and search for 'Lego Islander'. I agree with Commander Scouts, your threads' titles should reflect the subject matter at hand.

This is your chance, Islanderboy, to actually buy a real Islanderset yourself and start a collection. Just type in the desired set's number on Ebay, place a bid, win and start building!

I changed the thread title to Islanders Sets, do you think that's a proper title?

Maybe Has anybody seen any sets on Ebay lately? is the best title for this thread because its clear and direct and everyone will know what its about by reading it.

If this wasn't in the US, I would certainly place a bid.

But the price can change a lot in the last seconds...

Oh! Such a perfect auction for me! It's in New Jersey, which is only a State away! But I don't have the money :-( . I'm using that money to buy silicon.

Even an opened and used copy of the same set has been bid up to $102. So strange that this received so few bids until now. The other sealed one (see the eBay stores section) costs a little bit more at just $399. I know about the biddings in the last 10 minutes. Let's see for how much this one is going.

I got my 3rd copy of this set this past week, I purchased it in the UK. Mine is in same condition as this one, opened box (in worse condition than this), but set is unassembled and everything is still sealed in the original polybags and the plastic inlay tray.

My used copy will be built in a couple days. I look forward to doing that again since it is one of my all time fav Lego pirate sets.

my prediction 120$.

I'd bid if they shipped to Canada...

You can always ask if the seller is prepared to ship accross the border although it is not sure that the seller can still be reached so shortly before the end of the auction. He or she might be away from the computer. Or you can take the risk of them not being prepared to ship and bid anyway.

Whatever the case, I think this will bring more than $120. I would guess it will sell for at least $150 - $175. Anything less than that is a steal for one of the most wanted and sought after big mid 1990s Lego pirate sets in unassembled condition.

I just found out the seller also has a 6086 Black Knights Castle new in box. Would be nice in a package deal...

Bear in mind since the seller has only stated they ship to the United States and therefore that may dissuade bids from other countries. So because of this the auction may not recieve as many bids if the seller said they would ship to anywhere in the world.

I am supposed to be picking up a copy of this set from a friend for (cdn)$140 later today. Not in bags but with the box and all pieces in good condition. I can hardly wait! X-D

You lucky dog.If I only had 140 dollars to spend.*sigh*

I contacted the seller, and he was willing to ship to me, so I tried for both of them.

Didn't get the Imperial Post....I wonder if I had bid 5 bucks more.... that always is the case with eBay. You never know how high the guy who beat you out was willing to go.

Still, I already had this set MIB, so I didn't want to go crazy for a second one.

Got the 6086 MISB, though! Pretty happy about the price there.

Thanks for the heads up JP - I wouldn't have seen it otherwise.

Sigh... Oh well. I was hoping to get it, but it was not to be. I was hoping that this would be my first land pirate set. The only other sets I have are the Black Seas Barricuda and the Imperial Armada.

Just don't tell my wife. If (OK, when) she finds out I'll just say it's an early 40th B-day present to myself. X-D

So I noticed! Congrats! And you are welcome about the heads up. It was admittedly a lucky find, since I was only looking for 6277 sets and the 6086 coincidentally was there too. Enjoy it Gyl!

If properly described and advertised, these sealed 6086 sets tend to go for $300 or more.

So your friend knows the value of this set? Wouldn't it be great if you had a friend that was desperate to to get rid of one for nothing?

Considering this is a used and built set, it is surely doing a whole lot better than the new one that sold for only $122.

I cleaned my used example today, pieces are currently drying outside. I purchased it in 2005 (I think), built it back then to see if it were complete and never got to cleaning it until today. Fortunately, the bricks and pieces are in very good condition.

Or if I had beat him to the guy doing the selling. It was an online local classified and the Imperial Trading Post was part of a lot of LEGO for about $140 total. I phoned about 15 minutes after Bert had picked up the lot. :-|

Of course he knows the value, he funds his LEGO habit with a BrickLink Store.
