Fives Posted October 26, 2011 Posted October 26, 2011 Finished building the QAR last night, and I must say it is spectacular. It is considerably bigger in length than the Pearl, which surprised me. My only gripe, and I have the same problem with the Pearl, is the lack of canons! Why can't LEGO give us enough canons to fill at least on full side! It would be great if it had enough canons to fill both sides, but that might be a bit much. Still, a beautiful set. Quote
Blondie-Wan Posted October 26, 2011 Posted October 26, 2011 (edited) A few weeks ago I picked up a second copy of Kraken Attackin' from the local Toys 'R' Us, the last item lingering on the shelves here from the '09 Pirates line. I still have very little of the Pirates of the Caribbean line, though I'd love to get those eventually as well. Edited October 26, 2011 by Blondie-Wan Quote
AkumaMax Posted October 29, 2011 Posted October 29, 2011 Just Picked up the 10210 Imperial Flagship to add to my slowly growing Fleet. Quote
Skipper Posted November 12, 2011 Posted November 12, 2011 (edited) Just built the Imperial Flagship! She's beautiful! A lot bigger than I expected from the box (by far my largest set) , and the colors are just lovely. If there's anything I don't like it's those huge hatches on the top deck, but that's easy to mod. I'll probably turn her into a 16 gun two-decker sometime. Edited November 12, 2011 by Skipper Quote
AkumaMax Posted November 12, 2011 Posted November 12, 2011 Picked up brickbeads bounty last night. Quote
surixurient Posted November 16, 2011 Posted November 16, 2011 I got an eldorado fortress and lagoon lock-up bundle. A caribbean clipper, forbidden island, sabre island, and raft raiders bundle. And a lot of 8 bluecoat soldiers. I am very excited for them to arrive in the mail as these will be my first classic pirate official sets. I currently just have a poor-man's black seas barracuda I built from parts I had and some from bricklink, with many a color/part-swap in the build. My plan is to focus on the bluecoats/pirates. Quote

surixurient Posted November 17, 2011 Posted November 17, 2011 Eldorado Fortress and Lagoon Lock-Up should reach you soon. Have fun! Lol, thanks Edmond. Small world on the internet. Quote
Edmond Dantes Posted November 18, 2011 Posted November 18, 2011 Lol, thanks Edmond. Small world on the internet. Indeed. Actually, according to my tracking information, they were delivered on Wednesday. Quote
surixurient Posted November 18, 2011 Posted November 18, 2011 Indeed. Actually, according to my tracking information, they were delivered on Wednesday. Yeah, I receive packages at my parents house where all my lego is. Last night I went over to work on a moc and saw it arrived, built them both! Quote
Brinstar Posted November 21, 2011 Posted November 21, 2011 Over the weekend I purchased the Black Pearl at 15% off. I'd been on the fence about getting it but I am a sucker for Lego sailing ships. I actually think the ship looks better 'in the flesh' so to speak than it does in pictures. I'm also prepared to revise my opinion that the QAR was the best POTC ship. I actually think the Black Pearl despite having considerably less pieces is better designed and feels more complete. Quote
TalonCard Posted November 21, 2011 Posted November 21, 2011 I just got the Pirate Advent Calender. December is gonna be a fun month. :) TC Quote

For me it started looking a lot better when I replaced the black sails with white and added some color to the build. It's really a solid design I think, minus the black/gray color scheme and a few minor gripes about the bow and the back rudder. Quote
Cammo Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 After 21 days since it's released, I finally got my copy of the Black Pearl. This was my last set to complete my PotC-sets. And I must say they did a great job to make the ship appealing to AFOLS and kids. The only problem is space. This 1st 'wave' takes all my space on the shelves Quote
Captain Heineken Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 6276 Eldorado Fortress: I love it! It's even better than I thought. I bought it with instructions in very good condition for around 50 EUR. I'm glad I now can name this set my own... Quote
Bart Posted November 25, 2011 Posted November 25, 2011 I bought the Tortuga Island set. I was looking at the London Escape or the QAR, but Discounted they were still asking more then I was willing to give for it. So I got persuaded by the shine gold, which was indeed shiny :D Bart Quote
The_Chosen_1 Posted November 28, 2011 Posted November 28, 2011 I scored the Cannibal Escape set for 50% off at Barnes & Noble's Black Friday sale! Quote
proraptor Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 I have an imperial flagship sitting wrapped under my christmas tree. hurry up christmas! Quote
TalonCard Posted December 21, 2011 Posted December 21, 2011 After almost two decades of waiting and wanting, I finally tracked down a copy of the comic The Golden Medallion! This means that I have everything Pirates-related from the release year of 1989. Now to tackle the other years... TC Quote
Legonardo Posted December 25, 2011 Posted December 25, 2011 Just built up the Black pearl, LOVE the black hull thank you Christmas! Quote
proraptor Posted December 25, 2011 Posted December 25, 2011 Just built the imperial flagship....wow what a build.....pictures and video do this ship no justice......its beautiful Quote
SilvaShado Posted December 25, 2011 Posted December 25, 2011 My husband gave the Renegade Runner and Caribbean Clipper for Christmas. We were trying to stay out of Pirates since we were so focused on Castle, but with Pirates of the Caribbean and the new Imperial Flagship, I just went crazy over the ships. So he surprised me with two of the older Pirate ships. Now I just need to get the Black Seas Barracuda so I can have some female representation on these pirate ships! Or I'll just need to make my own with an all female crew and they'll rule the open seas. lol! Quote
Hive Posted December 25, 2011 Posted December 25, 2011 I managed to get 6242 Soldiers Fort brand new for a good price. I've been wanting that set ever since I first saw it, and in spite of being mainly into Castle the allure was just too strong for me to pass up on it. Quote
Gryphon Ink Posted December 25, 2011 Posted December 25, 2011 My wife bought me Queen Anne's Revenge for Christmas. My first pirate ship! Although my daughter points out that I do have a rowboat from the Isle de Muerta set. Quote
TalonCard Posted December 26, 2011 Posted December 26, 2011 My brother gave me the Fountain of Youth set for Christmas, but the big surprise was my uncle giving me the Queen Anne's Revenge! I've never received a LEGO pirate ship for Christmas...or as a gift...or a set that big as a gift...I'm so excited! So now Blackbeard can really set sail to find the Fountain of Youth. :) TC Quote
