jodawill Posted February 15, 2015 Posted February 15, 2015 I've always loved this set. It's so simple, but it looks so good. I don't have it, but I guess I probably have the pieces to make it. Quote
Matthias Posted February 15, 2015 Posted February 15, 2015 (edited) I would be glad if we get a such big and good set ever again. I love big landbased sets on baseplates. Edited February 15, 2015 by Matthias Quote
Captain Braunsfeld Posted February 15, 2015 Posted February 15, 2015 Fine collection - and the skull in Skull Island is a highlight of the set. Quote
VintageLegoEra Posted March 12, 2015 Posted March 12, 2015 Not a huge fan of that particular set. I think the quality of their sets really deteriorated near the end of the theme... but that aside, your collection is amazing! Mmm..well i see you have very minus impression on many sets as i czn see from you comments in many themes... Would love to share it if u dont mind :-) Quote
Hive Posted March 13, 2015 Posted March 13, 2015 Mmm..well i see you have very minus impression on many sets as i czn see from you comments in many themes... Would love to share it if u dont mind :-) Haha yes, well, perhaps I am "Mr. Negative" at times. For this particular set, I actually think the build itself is pretty good - but the colours are all wrong for me. And that's a problem I have with many older sets. I know they had a more limited colour palette to use back then, but I think it hurts the sets when compared to modern ones. The colours in this particular set makes it feel jumbled, confusing and not very organic. They remind me of when I was a kid and used not the *best* colours for a particular build I made, but the colours I simply had lying around. Quote
Captain Braunsfeld Posted March 13, 2015 Posted March 13, 2015 I can report the acquisition of the chess set. We also built it - and then I wanted to take it apart to reuse the bricks, but my wife has started to like the set as it is... Quote
Matthias Posted March 13, 2015 Posted March 13, 2015 So thats my latest acquisition. I think thats the latest acquisition of many people here Quote
Brickmasta Posted March 16, 2015 Posted March 16, 2015 I just completed the new series and got the last ones today... including the chess game and the ship twice, skull island twice, and the smallest set twice... need all the cannons :D I love the series and hope they continue it with more ships! clm Posted March 17, 2015 Posted March 17, 2015 So thats my latest acquisition. I think thats the latest acquisition of many people here So true, just ordered that exact collection of sets from Lego tonight :) Chris Quote
Dreamweb Posted March 17, 2015 Posted March 17, 2015 Recently I got 70409 Shipwreck Defence, that would be my second set of the new Pirates after the Brick Bounty... Hopefully not the last Quote
josykay Posted March 17, 2015 Posted March 17, 2015 (edited) A complete BSB (one of the pirate flags is damaged) at ebay. The price was pretty decent after all, since the the set was complete and I got a Harbor Sentry as well. 75 € sounds pretty nice for a complete set. Bricklinks BSB are ridiculously overpriced! Sigolf Brimabane Posted March 17, 2015 Posted March 17, 2015 (edited) Got this white hull in the mail yesterday: Guess what this is going to be! Not a recent purchase though... It's what I found among my old lego. Have made some Bricklink orders. Sorry for the bad photos : P Edited March 17, 2015 by Sigolf Brimabane Quote
Southwest Chief Posted March 18, 2015 Posted March 18, 2015 Got two more ships to add to my collection. 6268 Renegade Runner and 6280 Armada Flagship. I never got the 6268 originally as didn't like the small size and I decided to spend what little money I had on the more impressive 6286 Skull's Eye Schooner. As for 6280, I was pretty much out of Lego by the time that set debuted. But now that I finally have these two, I can honestly say they are both surprisingly very nice sets. I don't exactly like the front design of the 6280, but I do like the Spanish Conquistador minifigs and they make a nice faction to add to the Bluecoats (French) and Redcoats (British). And although garish, the colorful 6280 looks better in person than in photos. Oh and I'll have to get a wheel for the 6268, unless they sail wherever the wind takes them. These two new ships should look great with my existing fleet: Quote
Hive Posted March 19, 2015 Posted March 19, 2015 I just bought the sails from 10210 Imperial Flagship. Looking forward to using them on my WIP Imperial ship. Quote
Sigolf Brimabane Posted March 19, 2015 Posted March 19, 2015 I just bought the sails from 10210 Imperial Flagship. Looking forward to using them on my WIP Imperial ship. They are really nice! My second set of those sails is on the way right now. So versatile! Quote
Mencot Posted March 19, 2015 Posted March 19, 2015 I have also ordered a set of sail from the Imperial flagship. I bought them from a Bricklink store in Poland. I also have ordered the Brick bounty from S@h, kids and I are waiting with eager for the order to arrive, so we can start building and mod it. Quote
Hive Posted March 19, 2015 Posted March 19, 2015 Where have you gotten the Set of sails? Bricklink. Expensive, but worth it. They're really something. And since I won't be able to get the entire ship, I decided to get at least the unique part: the sails. Besides, who knows when LEGO will ever do something like that again...? I have also ordered a set of sail from the Imperial flagship. I bought them from a Bricklink store in Poland. So did I! Perhaps the same shop? 'Magic Shop', I think it was called. Quote
Sigolf Brimabane Posted March 19, 2015 Posted March 19, 2015 (edited) I got them at Magic Shop as well. Good thing I managed to snag two sets when they were hot, lol. Are there none left now? I should probably take a picture of my budget Imperial Flagship. Basically I have exchanged the masts for black parts and most of the dark brown parts for black (unfortunately the stern looks a bit bad with the brown "rounded slope" parts instead of dark brown like the hull. And the 1x3 black arches have become regular bricks, who would have thought they were so rare? I also changed the dark bley fence pieces for black ones because of the high price. Edit: I'm still waiting for my pirates sets to arrive from the Netherlands!!! It's been almost two weeks ;____; I am starting to worry that they might be lost... Which would be an expensive disaster since I got all of the sets at once (plus one extra of Soldiers' Outpost). Edited March 19, 2015 by Sigolf Brimabane Quote

Kolonialbeamter Posted March 23, 2015 Posted March 23, 2015 You probably won't believe it, but today I got some real, physical LEGO. My order from 'Bricks and Pieces' arrived. Means, 40 new Bluecoats plus equipment and some other stuff... the only question now is... how do I 'import' all this into LDD?!? New Bluecoats after 26 years, I'm feeling like a child again Thanks again big time for posting the info about 'B&P', guys! Quote
Kolonialbeamter Posted March 28, 2015 Posted March 28, 2015 Guys, I'm having a 'serious' problem at hand... I partially think of this forum here as a support group. Our poison being ouchy-when-stepped-on plastic... A local toyshop is going out of business or moves to a different location or whoknowswhat. Anyways, they are offering a 20% discount on everything. And they have a quite well equiped Lego compartment... Aaaand they have all the new Pirate sets! What to do, what to do, what to do... Every answer to this post should include at least one of the following phrase suggestions: No!; Hell no!; OMG; Be reasonable!; You are stupid; I said don't!; WTF, dude?! But now for real, do you think it would be a at least good idea to buy some of the larger sets (ship, bluecoat base) and wait till this wave has passed, then sell when prices rise? Like many did with the 2010 Imperial Flagship? Anyone experienced in this? Quote

But you can look up how much the 2009 sets go for in new condition today on Bricklink to get an idea of what you can expect. Quote
