OH MY! I'm currently in the States so I've not really been paying attention to the online gaming news, but I popped on to find this.. wow, just WOW! I was the LSW2 reporter, I wonder who'll be the Indy one haha :D. I really cannot wait, this beats a Complete Saga anyday! An entirely new game with the LSW formula, based upon my other favourite film series (which I've always adored), I think this is onto a winner. It sure blows Batman out the water, in my opinion at least, anyway. Oh the characters, oh the levels, OH THE NOSTALGIA!

Bah, I wish they'd change the name to Johny Thunder. Much easier to use sam sinister as a bad guy and have a bunch of little cronies to fight. :-/ With Indie there isn't much room to maneuver. The trailer looks cute, though, so we'll see what happens.

Im *vader*, and I *y* this message.

THIS IS GONNA BE AWESOME! I OWN BOTH THE LEGO STAR WARS GAMES, AND THOSE ARE HOURS OF FUN! No really, they are only fun for a few hours *n* . They could be a little longer. But i hope this Indiana Jones version is better than those few hours of fun.

Actually, I kinda saw this coming. With the new set license and all, a video game is the perfect way to spread interest in the kits and theme. Still, it's nice to see it confirmed, but I guess this means no Lego Exo-Force video game... man, I was really hoping for something along those lines... :-(

BTW, anyone think the 4th movie could be a bounus section or something? ;-)

Well there still is the possibility of an Exo game

Well I loved the 1st SW game, the second one was kind of a been there done that and now this;

The trailer has some gameplay video and the game is exactly the same :-/

I don't know, I'll try it...

dont anyone shoot a dart at me here but I agree with Zakta, it looks a little too much like the star wars games, which where good dont get me wrong just I hope this isn't as short and easy as the star wars games yet it probably will be.

oh well the humour looks like its still there I can't wait for the sets X-D

The game sure is looking great so far! *y* I like the look of the new figs, like Toht, the Hovito-we-almost-got, and the German mechanic. The secondary character powers and phobias also sound cool. It's come a long way from that first trailer, though they're not done yet; who's that standing next to Indy in the last screenshot, for instance?

Heyhey, I'm back once more with the first concrete Lego Indiana Jones details. I know for some this might be a bit old, but it has quite a bit that most will not have read. So here we go, quoted from the main article itself [for those who do not want to read through the entire article, I have a summary below, with all the key points] *sweet*.

Dealing with basic nuts and bolts first, Lego Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures parodies the three Spielberg-directed movies that released in the 1980s.

The game's broken down into three chapters and 18 levels, and stars Lego-ised renditions of all the main characters. And, naturally, loads of classic moments from the films.

Lego Indy being chased by a giant Lego boulder included? You never expected it to be otherwise, right? Major Toht's ink is "flushed of his pea-sized face", says the article, describing the game's version of the gruesome moment at the end of Raiders when the Ark is finally opened.

Indy's iconic whip is used to attack enemies and latch onto scenery, and it's no surprise to learn that the hero will be able to pull himself up the whip to before clambering onto ledges.

But it's a spade that's described as a key 'weapon', as digging yields weapons and bonuses. And unlike Lego Star Wars, Lego Indy features an ammo limit.

Jone's snake phobia hasn't been overlooked either. When faced with slithering nasties the hero will be rendered ineffective leaving it down to another character - presumably AI or player-driven - to help out. And the phobia mechanic won't be exclusive to Indy, either.

Stacking the Indy adventure up against the Star Wars games, Edge says that "Pulling levels to open doors, building platforms to reach them and then destroying them (and everything else) for studs has grown into something more open and explorative".

According to the article, Lego Indy is far funnier than Lego Star Wars. It describes how, in the scene from Raiders of the Lost Ark when Indy shoves the Staff of Ra into a hole in the map room, the intense beam of light that reveals the resting place of the Ark will actually either blind the hero of set the room on fire. But it's not saying which.

Perhaps partly in keeping with this, according to Edge Traveller's Tales has chosen to remove Nazis - and any reference to them it appears, from what TT says - from the game, "Lego having already replaced them with an anonymous genocidal, occultist, trenchcoat-wearing master-race". The studio explains it has left it down to the strength of the Indy characters to show they are bad guys - but "that said, we like to reinforce the fact that these really are terrible, terrible people".

TT's director Jon Burton is describing the game as "a careful next step" for the developer and Lego franchise.

The studio doesn't "want to change the game so much that we lose the audience", he explained.

"...and the more things we can keep intact about the formula, the better. If by some chance the game isn't a success, then we'll know it's probably something about Star Wars the works so well".

According to Edge, Lego Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures is out this June.

As promised, here is the summary:

  • There are three main chapters, with 18 levels total
  • Gruesome moments from the films (i.e. Major Toht) have been adapted with humour and will not be so gory :-D
  • The whip is not only a weapon, but also a grapple
  • Much like in the 2D Zelda games, you can use a spade to dig up treasure
  • Weapons such as guns will have limited ammo
  • One funny element is Indiana Jones' fear of snakes: get too close and he freezes with fear, forcing you to switch characters :-P
  • Apparently the game is more open for exploration in comparison to the Lego Star Wars games
  • As expected, no Nazis, like in the Lego sets themselves X-D
  • Aaand it is due out this June!

I hope that was an informative read for y'all, I for one am certainly looking forward to this!

Thanks Andrex for the info.

This sounds great. LSW was fantastic anyway, and this sounds as good, if not better. More humour, great. Indy's snake phobia is a nice addition to the gameplay, and limited ammo should make it a bit tricky.

This really sounds very good, more of what we've had already, with just a little bit extra.

I am so getting it... only, does this mean there is no special chapter for the Fourth Movie? 8-|

Just wait for "Lego Indiana Jones II", and "Lego Indiana Jones - The complete saga" :-D

Wow this game sure has cool new features (digging, snake phobia, swimming, limmited ammo) and appears to be biger to explore for treasure 8-
