March 5, 20159 yr Every time I go on a trip abroad, I spent 3/4 of the time scrounging around for discontinued LEGO treasures and 1/4 of the time sightseeing/researching about LEGO shops.
March 6, 20159 yr I use LEGO color names for generic colors on non-lego things. Like strolling through IKEA and saying "that sofa would look better in reddish brown" Ditto. Drives people around me nuts.
March 6, 20159 yr Ditto. Drives people around me nuts. Same! I found myself describing that one dress color controversy image in LEGO colors!
March 9, 20159 yr Here's another one I just realised, every venue or place with the word "brick" in it I automatically assume is a Lego reference
May 4, 20159 yr When learning about sig-figs in school and automatically thinking about minifigures. Haha that was me last year! I'm always imagining my surroundings in LEGO, and how people would look as minifigures (what hairpiece would be used for him/her, what color would that be, etc.)
May 5, 20159 yr I use LEGO color names for generic colors on non-lego things. Like strolling through IKEA and saying "that sofa would look better in reddish brown" I do this all the time, probably more than I realize, because my wife is starting to understand what I mean (and not get annoyed). I also look at everything around and re-render it in LEGO in my mind. But the strongest evidence is this: my wife and I were talking about getting a new vacuum. After looking at one brand, I said I didn't like it because I thought it felt cheaply made. When she asked why, I started to answer but then stopped--only for a split-second--and she chimed in: "were you about to say that it feels like MegaBloks instead of LEGO?" Needless to say, I turned as bright red as a standard brick; sometimes it is scary how well she knows me. Edited May 5, 20159 yr by rodiziorobs
May 17, 20159 yr Didn't use much specific colors in English, when describing something. Post DA return I found myself getting color expert contrary to this.
May 26, 20159 yr I had an interesting one recently. On a stationary bike, I noticed another bike had a 5 digit code on it and immediately wondered if that corresponds to a LEGO set.
May 27, 20159 yr It has definitely taken over my brain and that is far from a recent occurrence! Just as one of my habits: I always tend to re-render my surroundings into LEGO versions of them, or figure out how to build something I saw somewhere in LEGO with all kinds of different pieces being used in a creative manner, in my mind that is. May 27, 20159 yr I wouldn't say Lego has taken over my brain, but I saw a drilling rig in action today and started to wonder how I could build one I did build a small one years ago, so it's more of a re-imagined thought, I'd say.
