Errorist Posted July 28, 2007 Posted July 28, 2007 (edited) My newest creation ( the one i will probably buy). It's an early progress thread since only the bottom of the hull is done yet. It's in exact minifig scale( recalculated the dimensions from uss constitution). Dimensions are 150 studs long and 38 studs wide at the widest point. Enjoy ;-) Here is an image of the finished hull: Edited September 17, 2007 by Errorist Quote
Siegfried Posted July 28, 2007 Posted July 28, 2007 Err... that is going to be huge! What does it cost so far? Quote
Eurobricks Emperor Bonaparte Posted July 28, 2007 Eurobricks Emperor Posted July 28, 2007 (edited) You live in Antwerp... I work in the city of Antwerp, but live in Nijlen (20 km outside of Antwerp). It's great to have a pirate fan on the board the lives close !! It's funny, because I was just looking at you BS-folder 1 hour ago. This heavy frigate looks very promising. I'm actually very fond of one of you other ships, Le Bonheur. What do you mean with "the one i will probably buy". Will this new ship of yours be available from Lego factory (I'm not very familiar with how that works) or will you buy the pieces on BL. Is Le Bonheur available at Lego factory? Do you have a direct link? Edited July 28, 2007 by bonaparte Quote
Opproperaar Posted July 28, 2007 Posted July 28, 2007 Myes, well well well, I can't wait either really. Looks like this is going to get even better than your corvette. I only hope that your plan for sails and ropes etc... will work out well. 8-o :-P Anyways, I'll leave you to it. :-P :-/ Quote
Errorist Posted July 29, 2007 Author Posted July 29, 2007 (edited) Well once i've finished this model i will probably order it through LF . I still have to figure it out how it all works though because le bonheur is a bit difficult to order on LF and i have no idea why, maybe it's too big and expensive (6000+ blocks and 770euro) But i'm keeping track of the amount of blocks used in the frigate and if i can't order through LF then i'm ordering it through Bricklink. this the link for ordering LE BONHEUR ;-) P.S. cost sofar is around 300euro Edited July 29, 2007 by Errorist Quote
ZeekyBoogeyDoog Posted July 30, 2007 Posted July 30, 2007 Nice! This will be very impressive when completed. Quote
El Bucanero Posted July 30, 2007 Posted July 30, 2007 It seems you're a real LDD expert Mr Errorist, your ship is coming along nicely I see... If this will be as nice as the Bonheur this would certainly be in my top 10 of favorite ship. Bravo Mr Errorist! Keep it up! Mr Tiber Quote
SirNadroj Posted July 30, 2007 Posted July 30, 2007 Very nice, but a little expensive, right? :-/ Quote
ZCerberus Posted July 31, 2007 Posted July 31, 2007 Very nice, but a little expensive, right? :-/ Yeah it would be! Without the cannons or figs, it might be a little easier to swallow, then buy them seperately. But if you have the money and the need, it would be cool to have! Keep up the good work! Quote
Tanotrooper Posted July 31, 2007 Posted July 31, 2007 now that will be the biggest lego set ever! Remembers me when I made a ship 3 quarters of this ones length (only 12 then), with ALL my pirate minifigs fighting eachother... it was under Napoleon's control (aka imperial soldiers)... too bad it was in all different colours :p Great ship! I'd love to see it progress! TT Quote
TwistedDreams Posted August 1, 2007 Posted August 1, 2007 Hey, I have LDD, but there aren't any cannons! Are you going to make custom cannons? -TD Quote
Capn Frank Posted August 1, 2007 Posted August 1, 2007 Hey, I have LDD, but there aren't any cannons! Are you going to make custom cannons?-TD He's probably going to make some beauties like these that he has designed already: P Quote
Errorist Posted August 1, 2007 Author Posted August 1, 2007 He's probably going to make some beauties like these that he has designed already: P jep that's the way i aim to build my cannons but just a little smaller. Like the guns on the second gundeck of my cross section. because these would work better as 24pounders. i find the big ones too big and heavy for my taste. Quote
Errorist Posted August 2, 2007 Author Posted August 2, 2007 (edited) Just put up the new pictures on BS. Comments and tips are very welcome if any of you guys have any. *sweet* By the way if any of you guys have tips on how to make the galley for my ship they are more than welcome :-P Edited August 3, 2007 by Errorist Quote
Capn Frank Posted August 5, 2007 Posted August 5, 2007 (edited) Here's the pics of the USS Constitution Captain's Quarters you've asked for in the PMs. (sorry it took a few days X-D ) Posted in your thread in case others were interested. From what i understand, the top half is the floor plans while the bottom half is how the floor beams are layed out. On the top half drawing: #1 is the Helm Port #2 is the Captain's Quarters #3 is 1 of 2 Sleeping compartments (one for the captain of the ship and the other for the commodore) #4 is the Captain's day cabin #5 is the Mizzen (rear) Mast and #6 is the Captain's Pantry The piece of paper with 5,10,15,20,etc. lines is the exact scale of the drawing in feet. Below is a horrible pic of the Captain's Day Cabin (#4). Don't have any pics of the Captain's Quarters or Sleeping Compartments. Hope that helps. P Edited August 5, 2007 by phred Quote

Is there any special reason why you build with LDD? Other wise I think you could try building with MLCAD. You would need to start over again but I think you can build as big as you want with MLCAD.. How could i make sails on Lego Factory? Well, I believe you can't. Mr Tiber Quote

But i (hopefully) found the solution.I'm just going to design the empty hull and design the cannons in another model and then when they are all finished i will buy the thing :-P Edited August 14, 2007 by Errorist Quote
Errorist Posted August 20, 2007 Author Posted August 20, 2007 Ok i have been thinking about a radical color change. Would you guys think that red (with black gunports)and black instead of brown and black is a good colorscheme? Quote
