Ok i have been thinking about a radical color change.

Would you guys think that red (with black gunports)and black instead of brown and black is a good colorscheme?

A fully red hull with black gunports is not very historically accurate.

With an entirely black hull, you will not see lots of details. I would combine the black with another color (red or yellow).

The ship-index is always a good place to get inspiration for things like this.

Anyway, the ship looks much better after the color modifications.

You found the right balance between red and black.

Hull and guns are finished so now the only thing that remains are the masts.After that i can buy it at an estimated cost of around 1200

Just took another look at the pictures.

It really is superb!! I love how you've done the headrails. They really look good! Could you give some more details about the construction of them?

Things like these encourage me to build the Acheron on a brick built hull. And than my amount of bricks discourages me again :'-(

With the prefab hulls I only came as close as this:

Yours is really superior to it...

Too bad about the high price though.

Yes the high price tag is a bit of a bummer but its what i had ecxpected and what i can afford.

About those headrails i'll make a sort of pictorial when i'm at home so i can show it.

they are quite simple once you get used to the construction method ;-)

Btw I tried to upload some more pics of the frigate on brickshelf the way it looks now though it only worked partially. Somehow I couldn't upload more than three pics and two of those are the same. :S I can't figure out what's the problem so I'll just leave it before I do something stupid :-|| lol

I like how it looks! But I must be honest, I think the old version looks sliightly better.. I think there's a tad to bit black on the new version.

But it still looks very good Mr Errorist! You should build it the way YOU think it looks best.

I know it seems strange, but David here got a tad frustrated with nobody (except of course Mr Tiber and Bonaparte) ever replying to his creation, which he had spent ever so many man hours on, that I decided to provide the international, brick pirates loving community with a (perhaps bit obvious) hint. Apparently it did succeed in making people reply, didn't it? :-D

This ship is amazing.

But it still needs masts. Are you going to add these still?

When it is completely finished, I suggest you make a new topic for the finished version.

This way it will get the attention it deserves.

EDIT: I just noticed you have the masts in a separate picture. I there a way to show the ship together with the masts on 1 picture?

No unfortunatly putting th masts on the ship causes the LDDprogram to overload and crash.

You will have to wait until the real ship is built before you can see any masts on it :-/
