Edwin Korstanje Posted March 21, 2016 Author Posted March 21, 2016 Thanks guys for the great reactions. Although I see you had to modify some bricks to pass the LED wires... And i am not hapy with that BusterHaus . I have no problems to cut rigid hose, but modify 4 plates and 4 cheese sloopes is not mine style . Lucky for me that this is a build for a custommer and he wanted al the lights on his ship . Quote
BusterHaus Posted March 21, 2016 Posted March 21, 2016 I guess it's a good thing these clients aren't Lego purists. Quote
Edwin Korstanje Posted March 21, 2016 Author Posted March 21, 2016 PS I think the British Antarctic Survey should commission you to build a model of their new research vessel. They can call me Grum . Very nice and clean ship and great to build in scale 1/30 ore 1/40 Quote
zweihander Posted March 23, 2016 Posted March 23, 2016 It should be fun to build a ship called "Boaty McBoatface" Quote

Edwin Korstanje Posted March 25, 2016 Author Posted March 25, 2016 Today i make a lot Progress on the Triton and build the wheelhouse. I'm very happy with the result and can now make all the lights in it. Quote
grum64 Posted March 25, 2016 Posted March 25, 2016 (edited) OUTSTANDING! Edited March 25, 2016 by grum64 Quote
Zerobricks Posted March 25, 2016 Posted March 25, 2016 Those tilted screws are simply birrliant. Of course all other detailes are equally awesome, but the screws were the first thing I noiticed. Quote

Thanks Zblj , Because LEGO don't make realistic propellers for ships( only a three wide and three blades) i ask the cliënt to screw up the budget and scale to 1/65 . Now i can make the Azimuth truster in brickbuild with a four blade angled propeller . Also the big two rol winches on the front and back decks are now independent working (manually). There are for me so many new aspect of brickbuild in this ship that i learn a lot off it. The most fun and frustration was the engine room and all the lights, but in mine mind a great addition to this project. Now is the only thing that i hope the cliënt likes it to . Quote
jorgeopesi Posted March 26, 2016 Posted March 26, 2016 First I thought those exhaust pipes are poorly fitted... , details, details Jorge I said myself, awesome as usual. Quote
Edwin Korstanje Posted March 26, 2016 Author Posted March 26, 2016 (edited) First I thought those exhaust pipes are poorly fitted... , details, details Jorge I said myself, awesome as usual. If you look quick at my model than it's looks poorly fitted Jorge , but the bend on the orignal Triton exhaust pipes are even more bendet . Now these days on all the ships the exhaust pipes are so extreme bendet and sharp cut off, that i must compromis a lot to the model . With round bricks the different also between 1x1 ore 2x2 are so big, that in this scale the 2x2 round bricks are no options. Edit : here for the one's that have not scroll back in this topic for the real Triton. Edited March 26, 2016 by Edwin Korstanje Quote
2LegoOrNot2Lego... Posted March 26, 2016 Posted March 26, 2016 This is such a nice build, so nice to look at!!! Well done buddy!!! Quote
BusterHaus Posted March 26, 2016 Posted March 26, 2016 The steering cabin looks great, I really like the SNOT. All the details are excellent, I'm always impressed by what you do at such a small scale. Quote
Stephan Posted March 26, 2016 Posted March 26, 2016 Wauw always impressed with your models! That CSD model is awesome but way too expensive for me. Would have been a nice memory of an internship at Damen Dredging. Quote
Edwin Korstanje Posted April 7, 2016 Author Posted April 7, 2016 Wow thanks buddy This is also new for the see my model on the real Kiss . Thanks for sending me the sreenshot by mail Quote

Edwin Korstanje Posted April 13, 2016 Author Posted April 13, 2016 Cool guys, that makes it stand out really well...!!! Thanks buddy , She got a real cool place onboard, but unfortunaletly they put it for sale . Quote
Pvdb Posted April 14, 2016 Posted April 14, 2016 €35,000,000!!! Does that price include the Lego model or will the current owner take it as a souvenir?? Quote
Edwin Korstanje Posted April 14, 2016 Author Posted April 14, 2016 €35,000,000!!! Does that price include the Lego model or will the current owner take it as a souvenir?? That's the price for the Lego model and than you get the real one for free . I got contact with the broker and the model stay on the Kiss . The selling price is only for the ship and you must also buy the 14 crew and staf members and running cost. Quote
zux Posted April 14, 2016 Posted April 14, 2016 I got contact with the broker and the model stay on the Kiss .I wonder what would happen to model if Kiss would hit a storm. Is model glued? Quote
Edwin Korstanje Posted April 14, 2016 Author Posted April 14, 2016 The model is not glued and was build for standing in the owners office or home. Than he dicided that the model get a place onboard and i explane what the risk is in a storm. The kiss have sailed now already to two storms and my model servived it perfectly. In the contract with the yard stands that if their is any problem with the model they will fly me in to repair or rebuild it . Quote
zux Posted April 14, 2016 Posted April 14, 2016 In the contract with the yard stands that if their is any problem with the model they will fly me in to repair or rebuild it .That's a great alternative to gluing the model! Quote
Pvdb Posted April 14, 2016 Posted April 14, 2016 If that is the contract then I hope you have designed some inherent weaknesses into the model so in about 2 years it will start cracking apart (a bit like some car manufacturers do I have heard) some people must work really really hard to be able to afford such luxury. Or are they just lucky? Quote
