VKTechnic Posted February 21, 2015 Posted February 21, 2015 Hey guys! I've wanted to build this car for a while, and I haven't built a car with 56 x 28 wheels for quite some time either, so I figured I might as well. I also haven't built a "tuned" car yet, so I feel like this is a good opportunity to do just that. (Hopefully, I won't rice it up too hard ) I'll start working on the chassis later today, and hopefully will have some pictures tomorrow or on Monday. For now, here's a picture of my "inspiration": Technically speaking, it'll be remote controlled (of course), and I'm hoping to include a realistic, turbocharged fake engine. Not sure if I'll camber the wheels or any of that "fancy" stuff.
PROlego Posted February 21, 2015 Posted February 21, 2015 Nice car! Good luck with it. PS: VTEC just kicked in, yo!
OG_technic Posted February 21, 2015 Posted February 21, 2015 I love the s2000! Good luck with the build :) I'll be following closely :p
weavil Posted February 21, 2015 Posted February 21, 2015 I too think it is a great car! Can't wait to see your progress!
jono rocky Posted February 21, 2015 Posted February 21, 2015 This will be another great build from you, can't wait to see it.
Graydingo Posted February 22, 2015 Posted February 22, 2015 Great choice. What color are you thinking?
DrJB Posted February 22, 2015 Posted February 22, 2015 (edited) When that vehicle was first sold in the US (around 2000, of course), the most 'favorite' color was Atlanta Blue (Metallic of course) Edited February 24, 2015 by DrJB
VKTechnic Posted February 22, 2015 Author Posted February 22, 2015 Great choice. What color are you thinking? Probably gonna build it in yellow, with a dark grey hood and some racing stripes. When that vehicle was first sold in the US (around 2000, of course), the most 'favorite' color was Atlanta Blue (Metallic of course) That was my original choice, but I only have 10 or so blue liftarms.
weavil Posted February 22, 2015 Posted February 22, 2015 I always thought it looked beautiful in red or yellow.
Rishab N Posted February 22, 2015 Posted February 22, 2015 Really looking forward to this. I really love the S2000
HorcikDesigns Posted February 22, 2015 Posted February 22, 2015 Ahhh... And black rims, please! (and I'm looking forward to see any (positive, not negative) progress :D (this reminds me, anyway, that I want to draw this car for a long time...)

Jeka Jackson Posted February 22, 2015 Posted February 22, 2015 Very nice idea) Once I've build this model using the same wheels (http://www.doublebrick.ru/mocs/jackson/honda-s2000-lego), & I'll follow your topic with great interest) I really wish you luck! May be the photos of my model can help you in your project & allow your to avoid & correct some technicalities that I've done)
VKTechnic Posted February 22, 2015 Author Posted February 22, 2015 After a bit of sketching in my notebook, I built this loose chassis to get a feel for dimensions and layout: S2000 - WIP 1 by VKTechnic, on Flickr Sadly, I'm not sure I'll be able to fit an actual LEGO piston engine in there, but I'll definitely put as many details, pipes, and wires in there as I can.
OG_technic Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 Looking nice :) Also, fantastic photography.
Epic Technic Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 So no suspension? but I don't care cause it gonna be awesome, good luck!
Pluto_MkII Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 I think a small engine dummy would fit perfect to the car size. Will you use a servo or an m-motor for steering?
VKTechnic Posted February 23, 2015 Author Posted February 23, 2015 So no suspension? but I don't care cause it gonna be awesome, good luck! No suspension. Not like lowered/"slammed" cars have any real suspension anyways I think a small engine dummy would fit perfect to the car size. Will you use a servo or an m-motor for steering? I'll be using an M-Motor with a hockey spring.
DamonMM2000 Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 S2000 - WIP 1 by VKTechnic, on Flickr Dude, that looks really nice! Keep working on it!
LeocornoProductions Posted February 24, 2015 Posted February 24, 2015 Smaller than I anticipated, but still 1 xl motor will work a treat for a light weight car like that.
Epic Technic Posted February 24, 2015 Posted February 24, 2015 Smaller than I anticipated, but still 1 xl motor will work a treat for a light weight car like that. How do you know its gonna be light?
VKTechnic Posted February 25, 2015 Author Posted February 25, 2015 How do you know its gonna be light? Riced out cars are always light and super fast, right?
D3K Posted February 25, 2015 Posted February 25, 2015 Riced out cars are always light and super fast, right? They are actually among the fastest cars in the world! I learned this watching a documentary about fast and furious cars and people.. Can't recall the name of it though... I think Vin Diesel was in it
