__________________________ Posted February 25, 2015 Posted February 25, 2015 They are actually among the fastest cars in the world! I learned this watching a documentary about fast and furious cars and people.. Can't recall the name of it though... I think Vin Diesel was in it It was probably one of the Fast movies, not a documentary
VKTechnic Posted March 2, 2015 Author Posted March 2, 2015 Finally back with an update! Worked a lot on the [swapped] engine, all of the intercooler, exhaust, and NOS piping is done. Plus, I added a cool(ish) air intake. S2K - WIP 2 by VKTechnic, on Flickr Seat credits go to Jeroen Ottens and his awesome Alfa Romeo 4C. I had to modify them a bit to fit the scale and my parts collection. Here's a close-up of the engine bay, can you guess which engine this is? S2K - WIP 2 by VKTechnic, on Flickr I also decided to go with an aftermarket coffee-can-style exhaust system; I've heard making your exhaust sound like farts means your car goes faster. S2K - WIP 2 by VKTechnic, on Flickr Look forward to hearing your feedback!
DrJB Posted March 2, 2015 Posted March 2, 2015 (edited) I've never liked the mix of studded, beams, and classical lego parts that much but, you have convinced me otherwise. You've done a fantastic job integrating all the different parts and the build looks solid. can't wait to see the final MOC. Edited March 2, 2015 by DrJB
legotechnicus Posted March 2, 2015 Posted March 2, 2015 Looks very good! Can't wait to see the final result
Jeroen Ottens Posted March 2, 2015 Posted March 2, 2015 What a great attention to detail! I love the splashes of colour through the builld. I'm really looking forward to your bodywork, if that is at the same level as this chassis it will be an absolute knockout!! :) Keep those pictures coming
Lipko Posted March 2, 2015 Posted March 2, 2015 What a great attention to detail! I love the splashes of colour through the builld. That's why, and because of the very high-quality pictures I love his WIP threads
VKTechnic Posted March 3, 2015 Author Posted March 3, 2015 Thanks everyone for all the kind words! That's why, and because of the very high-quality pictures I love his WIP threads You're too kind
5imon Posted March 3, 2015 Posted March 3, 2015 This starts looking very good, detailed and colourful, as others remarked before. I always liked the S2000, so I'm looking forward to seeing one built in Lego.
PKW Posted March 3, 2015 Posted March 3, 2015 IMHO I don't like the chassis, It looks oganized only To fit aestethics, but It has more or less no function, it should have a suspension system or something better than just two motors connected To The steering and To the trasmission ;) great car without a good chassis can't go anywere :') I Hope that with aestethics you'll balance this lack, good work ;) PS: if you want To make The gap between the pieces offerte the radiator you can put a piece offerte paper between them and press it ;)

Granted, it is possible to make small models with lots of functions and details (example), but this is a) not my building style, and b) I don't want to build something that's already been built.
RLCLAB Posted March 3, 2015 Posted March 3, 2015 Like your style of building! Also nice way of capturing your models on cam
Alasdair Ryan Posted March 3, 2015 Posted March 3, 2015 It looks very nice,I hope you put some nice rims on it.
Rishab N Posted March 3, 2015 Posted March 3, 2015 Looks very good. I agree with Lipko and Jereon Ottens as I like the color in the car and the quality of the pics
VKTechnic Posted March 10, 2015 Author Posted March 10, 2015 I've been super busy, but got some time yesterday to work on the hood, trunk, and wing. Still some fine-tuning (pun intended) to go. S2K - WIP 3 by VKTechnic, on Flickr
sm 01 Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 Nice progress. I'm looking forward to see it finished.
DamonMM2000 Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 Not bad, looks like I see some racing stripes on the hood? Again, can't wait until it's finished!
Jeroen Ottens Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 I like the racing stripes, but otherwise I am not too fond of the stacked beam approach. Hiding that beautiful chassis under loads of beams is a criminal offence you know I wonder how it would look with a flexaxle only body
VKTechnic Posted March 10, 2015 Author Posted March 10, 2015 I wonder how it would look with a flexaxle only body It would look like 4 or so flex axles, since that's about all I have
Jeroen Ottens Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 It would look like 4 or so flex axles, since that's about all I have Minimalistic design
PKW Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 ohhh *-* 4 Flex axles? i Hope one day i'll have Them :') The only ones that I have in that number are those from bionicles :')
VKTechnic Posted March 16, 2015 Author Posted March 16, 2015 I've been working on the "bae". Lowered the intercooler by half a stud (painful, yes), which let me get this beauty of a front end to work: Honda S2000 - WIP 4 by VKTechnic, on Flickr Also changed the stripes to blue, looks a little better IMO. The rear end's shaping up to be fairly nice, too: Honda S2000 - WIP 4 by VKTechnic, on Flickr My logic behind the front splitter: "Well, I put a huge wing on the back, might as well put a huge splitter on the front." Honda S2000 - WIP 4 by VKTechnic, on Flickr From this angle, it looks like a proper hill climb car (and yes, I'll mount that 9L beam eventually): Honda S2000 - WIP 4 by VKTechnic, on Flickr Lastly, this angle just looks sweet and makes for a pretty nice cover photo: Honda S2000 - WIP 4 by VKTechnic, on Flickr Thoughts?
Lipko Posted March 16, 2015 Posted March 16, 2015 Looks beautiful, I hope those weak connections will be fixed later.
