Nice loco loco.

How do the trucks work? I take it from the rails its a PF loco but the wheel spacing looks further apart than the PF motor?

This specific loco is unpowered, but my others of similar design use PF wheels with L motors and AA battery packs to scoot along the track. The trucks are the same though. There is a one stud gap between each wheel and the center axle floats. They're based off the ones in RAILBRICKS issue 6.

My other locomotive's even use metal wheels to pick up power from the track. If you are interested, my other threads detail it more ;)

Oops.

Ow! Ow! Ow! Ow! !@#$% (I feel for you)

Unlike other forms of model railroading, with Lego, you can rebuild the locomotives that fall off the track and crash to the floor. But it still hurts when something like that happens.

Done I guess.

It looks great!

Looks very nice legoman

Where do you guys get the stickers from? Is there any kind of make your own sticker sets for model railroads that can be used with LEGO trains?

Their trip to the engine shop turned out very well!

Thanks! They are O gauge Microscale waterslide decals. I don't like using them because they are so brittle, but there aren't really any other options. We have one of these at work: http://www.fujifilmusa.com/products/graphic_arts_printing/large-format-printing/printers/acuity/advance-select/index.html which can print on to clear vinyl sticker or window cling, but it's not operational yet. Has white ink and everything. I hope to use it in the future.

This looks great - feels very realistic and with the decals added and the modulars in the background!

You can airbrush clear coat on your water slides to make them tougher. You have to cut them out around the decal and tone down the shine with dull coat or Matt clear. Spay light coats and cut out with a new and sharp #11 xaxto blade

Use hobby clear and test on unused decals or the information bit at the bottom of the sheet.

Your models would shine even brighter if they were lightly weathered.
