Governor Mister Phes Posted March 27, 2005 Governor Posted March 27, 2005 What was the occassion? A EuroBrick event? I've never seen more than 2-5 users online at the same time myself. Quote
jonfett Posted March 27, 2005 Posted March 27, 2005 I believe that was when we got the first pictures of the mystery set 10131, I also believe that me and Apo weren't online :| Jon. Quote
The Middleman Posted March 27, 2005 Posted March 27, 2005 You still have a pretty large population - 284 is nothing to scoff at. Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted March 27, 2005 Author Governor Posted March 27, 2005 You still have a pretty large population - 284 is nothing to scoff at. Well 285 now. But 285 isn't many compared to those message boards with 10's of thousands of people. Even if 285 people have registered, there doesn't appear to be 285 logging in every day and posting. I would be nice to have a few more people posting... Quote
xwingyoda Posted March 27, 2005 Posted March 27, 2005 True but one great / main advantage of smaller forum like our beloved Eurobricks is that you tend to know people after a while. Its much less impersonal ;) Its great to be part of a cosy forum ;) You're right, the members of our boards should post some more and should fill in their "ID card" to know where they're from and how old are they are. Governor Mister Phes Posted March 27, 2005 Author Governor Posted March 27, 2005 Yes, members like MEEEEEEEE!!! However, I've intentionally left it blank and will do so for a while longer. You're definitely right about this forum being less impersonal which is a definite positive. But still, it would be nice to have a few more people round. Quote
xwingyoda Posted March 28, 2005 Posted March 28, 2005 Oh well, maybe some people are too shy to enter into neverending discussions on piratry and vikingry ( *wacko* ) :-D ;) Seriously, come on members, express yourselves ;) Quote
Sarg_Kulo Posted March 28, 2005 Posted March 28, 2005 Does it count if some are just viewing the forum and are "guests"? That's why I thought they were so many. Quote
xwingyoda Posted March 28, 2005 Posted March 28, 2005 Yes, guests are users ;) You should check the Press link on the main page: as an exemple they show that one day there were 60 users: 58 guests and 2 members. Quote
Sarg_Kulo Posted March 28, 2005 Posted March 28, 2005 That explains it then. It was Jipay making loads of windows with the euroforum in ;) just kidding of course :D Quote
Jipay Posted March 28, 2005 Posted March 28, 2005 I couldn't : same IP. It was during the 10131 stuff. Quote
Sarg_Kulo Posted March 29, 2005 Posted March 29, 2005 Aww that mean's I asn't part of it. That was still in my FBTBing days. Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted March 29, 2005 Author Governor Posted March 29, 2005 This board is moving terribly slow this week... Quote
xwingyoda Posted March 29, 2005 Posted March 29, 2005 Just wait till everyone have their ROTS sets and post pictures ;) Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted March 29, 2005 Author Governor Posted March 29, 2005 That won't increase the number of responses to the Castle & Pirate forum threads though! Quote
xwingyoda Posted March 29, 2005 Posted March 29, 2005 True ;) but once again I'm confident that the next years will give us a new pirate line (TLC have to compensates the end of movie licences ;) ). Pirates always have been one of the better line TLC ever produced :) Quote
Khorne Posted March 29, 2005 Posted March 29, 2005 IF TLC would make a new pirate line, THEN I hope that they don't follow in the footsteps of KKII. Imagine, rainbow colored pirates *satis* :-D :D . How will they ever be capable of terrifieng their enemies? (some "new" pirate) *AARRGH, I'm captain Blue-Beard (victim of a Blue-beard's attack)-You're blue allright!!! Quote
jonfett Posted March 29, 2005 Posted March 29, 2005 Imagine, rainbow colored pirates *satis* :-D :D . How will they ever be capable of terrifieng their enemies? I can actually imagine TLC doing this :D If we do see a minifig pirate line then I hope it uses alot of the old figures from the 80's + 90's and not a bunch of new brightly coloured crap like in KK2. Jon. Quote
xwingyoda Posted March 29, 2005 Posted March 29, 2005 I guess that those darn "rainbow" colors is becoming a trend for TLC, just look at those crappy DINOs *sick* . I really hope that they will stop those colors and make sets as they used to ;) Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted March 30, 2005 Author Governor Posted March 30, 2005 IF TLC would make a new pirate line, THEN I hope that they don't follow in the footsteps of KKII. Imagine, rainbow colored pirates *satis* :-D :D . How will they ever be capable of terrifieng their enemies?(some "new" pirate) *AARRGH, I'm captain Blue-Beard (victim of a Blue-beard's attack)-You're blue allright!!! If Lego ever does decent to bring out a decent Pirate theme, I hope they don't go overboard with the colours. I think one of the detracting aspects of Knights Kingdom for me is the colours. I don't think they work well together. For the Pirate theme, I'd insist upon having a limited amount of colours, including: Black, White, Light Grey, Dark Grey, Red, Blue, Yellow, Green, Brown, Transparent Yellow (for torches), Transparent orange (for flames), metalic chrome and metallic gold (for armour, weapons and treasures). These worked quite well in the original Pirate theme and the sets looked fine without having all the different shades of bricks available today. Personally I'd keep the sand traditional yellow and not the colour used in Adventurers or the 4+ Pirates. Yellow looks more tropical anyway I think. I'd also keep the BURP light grey or dark grey. I'm not sure the brown ones work for me. And there's my little rant on colours for Pirate themes... Quote
