Condor Posted March 5, 2015 Posted March 5, 2015 Thanks for the review and the awesome pictures! This will definitely be on my to get list. Quote
wilson3a10 Posted March 5, 2015 Posted March 5, 2015 Just thought I'd add an addendum about the relative sizes of the Hulkbuster vs. the Hulk - in the new trailer that came out today, we see our most direct comparison yet between their sizes, and it shows that the Hulkbuster's legs alone are very nearly the same length as the Hulk's body when he's in a hunched-over pose similar to the bigfigs. The Hulkbuster is indeed nearly twice the size of the Hulk, making the Lego version only slightly too large to be in scale. Here you go Quote
Balbo Posted March 5, 2015 Posted March 5, 2015 Thanks for the review and for the great pictures I can't wait to get that set Quote
LegoGunInstructions Posted March 5, 2015 Posted March 5, 2015 Very detailed review. Love the sets! Definitely buy! Quote
wilson3a10 Posted March 5, 2015 Posted March 5, 2015 (edited) Hey guys. I found the joints in this set very useful :) Edited March 8, 2015 by wilson3a10 Quote
Butterfingers27 Posted March 5, 2015 Posted March 5, 2015 Great review and I especially love the posing you used in your picture. It really brings some life to the set. Am I the only one that intensely dislikes this new Hulk? I know they were going for movie accuracy, but it just doesn't look right to me. The older version just looks so much better in my opinion. Much closer to the comics, which is obviously my preferred look for the character. Cause vs. Effect: you prefer the comic look, therefore you prefer the older style. Quote
BrickSev Posted March 5, 2015 Posted March 5, 2015 Hey guys. I found the joints in this set very useful :) They also come in a set that is not expensive, so it can be a great source of pieces for MOCs Personally I wouldn't "lower" the Hulkbuster too much. It really seems to be taller than Hulk and the current set is indeed amazing Quote
Butterfingers27 Posted March 6, 2015 Posted March 6, 2015 Are there gold connector pieces to replace the black connector pieces going into the shoulders? Quote
Steckley Posted March 6, 2015 Posted March 6, 2015 Cause vs. Effect: you prefer the comic look, therefore you prefer the older style. Agreed. I'm a bit surprised though how much I dislike the new figure. It's not at the same hate level as I feel for the Green Goblin from 76016, but still much more than I would have expected. But t won't stop me from picking up this set. The Hulkbuster is just too good to miss out on. Quote
BrickSev Posted March 6, 2015 Posted March 6, 2015 Support more MOC :) I can't tell by the pic but are the Hulkbuster's arms "holding" or try to grab the nearby action figures? I'm just curious Quote

BrickSev Posted March 6, 2015 Posted March 6, 2015 This one is not mine. Arms shall be incomplete..... I like how it is done with the knee I like the "Arc reactors" on the legs. The lack of them in the official set is one of the few things that bothered me. They should be there like we saw in the trailer. I know it may seems strange but that bothers me far more than the "scale issue" Quote

BrickSev Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 I want to see the Hulkbuster fighting the Ideas Exo-Suit. That would be interesting I doubt the Exo-suits could stand a chance against Iron Man in the Hulkbuster armor. Superior armor, superior firepower and the Hulkbuster can even fly. Exo-suit would be "busted" (word play, of course) in no time Quote
JackJonespaw Posted March 8, 2015 Posted March 8, 2015 Ah, man, this is a great review! Hulkbuster's my favourite suit, and reading this review only reinforced my determination to grab this set up! Quote

BrickSev Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 LEGO Hulkbuster with waist swivel modification. That's a very interesting modification. I like the "waist mobility" you achieved with it. Well done Quote
Tereglith Posted March 9, 2015 Author Posted March 9, 2015 I want to see the Hulkbuster fighting the Ideas Exo-Suit. Ah, man! I can't believe I forgot to do this when I was first making the review. I knew I was missing a suit, and it was sitting right there on my shelf too! Oh well, looks like Krikkit's got you covered on that and many other fronts. Quote

I have been modding the mechs a bit, I will upload some more pictures shortly. Quote
Krikkit Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 So, as you have seen, I have been tweeking the Hulkbuster a bit. Tweeks include, inclusion of Waist Swivel. This increases height by 1 brick. Addition of Wrists. Using Mixel joints. Shoulder pad changes, placed the join from the back instead of the front, leaves smoother look, removed the technic pieces there. Rockets on back, moved to push outwards to improve movement, also added "gold" plate to the back. Added ribs to the structure. Gold Toes Pictures!
