I disagree. White and chrome does not harmonize - IMHO the original rim design looks way better...

How about some orange chrome? I've heard someone was doing these.

Just my 2ct

Yeah, white with chrome is too much brightness. I think a darker chrome would look good. Paul your chrome person does dark chrome doesn't he?

Orange chrome? That might look good. :sweet:

Paul, your passenger mirror is a little off.

Chrome rims will be used for building Paul's Supercars. :)

LOL.. Yeah, I seen that mirror was misaligned, but I was in a rush and didn't have time to take any more pics...

My chrome man is Gábor Révai and he does excellent work.. These are dark chrome wheels that he has done for me in the past.. They look really pretty on white vehicles and not too gaudy...

Just spend 200+ Euro on his BL store. 12 chrome red , 12 chrome titanium and 4 chrome wheels. I found his store through your website actually.

The vast majority of parts used is (very) common, this was done on purpose by Nathanaël. Only the wheel covers are rare.

I think this aspect of the MOC needs more praise. To be able to do as much as Nathaniel has with relatively common parts (so everyone can obtain them with less hassle) makes this MOC that much more impressive to me.

I know it's not the same but I think it's similar to working under the part-based restrictions with LEGO - so I would assume it does in some way limit the options you have. I'd love to hear Nathaniel's thoughts on this and if/how it affected the design.

Man those 58088 spoked wheel covers are killing me, any suggestions for replacement? Wheel hubs will be black.

I am thinking about building the model in all black, need to replace the flex hoses as well - maybe as flat silver.

buy a second hand ferrari 8145 - it contains many other useful parts for supercar MOCs... or buy a 8653 which is cheapier and has similar designed wheel covers which could look good too on the predator...

here in germany you can catch such a ferrari second hand for just a few bucks more than the bricklink-price of 4 wheel covers ... believe me: buying such a ferrari (or two ;-) is in general a smart move because some of the outstanding car MOCs out there uses a lot of parts of the models 8145 rsp. 8653...

I am also thinking about building the model in black, and replace all the white parts as red. All these parts (with exception of 44676, this part doesn't exist in red) are easy to get.

Nathanael offers a quite cheap alternative on his website: http://www.nkubate.c...rcar&Itemid=566

scroll down to the end and you will see.... could be worth a try for people not owning such ferrari wheel covers - btw: a quite clever idea...

I think that is a acceptable solution, but truthfully I have never been a fan of the radar dish in the wheel mod. I've seen many people do it, but it just never appealed to me. I also think it may look better with a black wheel and gray or even white dish inside. The problem with this is that you can see the spokes of the gray wheel behind the dish. With a black wheel this wouldn't be as noticeable, much like when using the Ferrari wheel covers.

at least more appealing than chromed silver rims on a white car - and on top cheapier... ;-)

but black rims with radar dishes could be worth a try, i agree

anyway: best is using the ferrari wheel covers ;-)

I got the file, it was about 35Mb instead of 50+Mb as indicated in the site. Has anything changed in between? I don't mind smaller size, especially while maintaining quality, and the file seems all right. I was just curious :)

The file has always been 35 MB.. Where it said 56MB was just an error... It is fixed now...
