Got those mid sized street tires. Started to build something.

Tried to fit diffrential

Then i made some angles

Now trying to make differential part littlebit compact, to fit some middle engine.

Don't know, how it will end.

Looking good so far but the rear axle could be more compact. You could maybe try something like my TC9 entry http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=117872&st=0

Forgot to mention, i also wanted independent suspension at specific width.

Tryed to build something american, like

Stucked on engine. I wanted to put there normal V8, but it's too big for wheels i chose. Steering wheel is allready somewhere in the middle of the car.

I'm afraid, that moving it more to front, also wont help ...

Jurss, you can make a custom V8. At least it will be 2x shorter. Nice suspension setup)

Jurss, take a look how the engine bay was made on the Lego Technic 8858 set, ok it has the V6 but has suspension and it is all in the middle. Now as Lego created new parts it could be made more efficient ...

AOW, thank You for idea, but it seems hard to implement without studded beams.

That's not good for your tires, did that with 9398 tires and now they will never fit on the regular hubs again.

I agree... that is bad for your tires. But it is always nice to see something new from you!

Oh... didn't thoght about that, because they fit easy

Because of that huge thing out on the shelfs

Sorry for late reply, but you can try using 9398 Tires on 8448 wheels ow wheel futuristic wheel. If you use wheel futuristic, you can fill 94.8 balloon tire with 42000 tire 

For that project (which is unfinished/disasambled nad waiting for inspiration) that was the needed size, because on the original car (Renault R5 turbo rally) front wheels are pretty narrow, rear little bit bigger diameter, but much wider.

I have replied you in original topic about tires, because original had same rim diameter at front and rear, just rear tire is "more fat" 

Some rear axle. Output/input to top or front.
