Jurss Posted February 18, 2023 Author Posted February 18, 2023 Ball fits in 3x19 frame Building some chassis Tried to make suspension close to real Fron is something like on original, rear could be closer. Quote
2GodBDGlory Posted February 18, 2023 Posted February 18, 2023 That's quite an interesting chassis! Is it supposed to replicate some real car? Are there any advantages to those angled front suspension arms? Quote

MinusAndy Posted February 19, 2023 Posted February 19, 2023 This looks a little like the tamiya sand scorcher chassis, particularly the front suspension. Quote
Jurss Posted February 20, 2023 Author Posted February 20, 2023 In fact, I'm trying to make something close to VW Beetle chassis, and then some Dune buggy on top of it. Quote
Jurss Posted February 25, 2023 Author Posted February 25, 2023 Another paralel project, as I got those small quarter gears Quote
Jurss Posted March 4, 2023 Author Posted March 4, 2023 As mini bwe was finished, returned to beach buggy. Shortened wheel base Now I made this as in real case :) ( You know - build for real), as for those buggies VW beetle frame is used, which is shortened during rebuild. Added engine also moved shock absorbers more to sides Now will come hardest part - body. Quote
Jurss Posted March 14, 2023 Author Posted March 14, 2023 Recently built 8069, using parts I have. Intentionally used latest tractor tires. Volvo bucket is really too big, but somehow attached. Latest excavator bucket fits well Conclusion - one of the best (if not the best) technic set. Really like it. It was on sale for 40EUR on some trade place. Now really regret not buying it. Only when building, realised, that there are some other good parts, which I don't have. Quote
Thirdwigg Posted March 14, 2023 Posted March 14, 2023 8069 is my favorite set. Thanks for posting, and I like the modifications you made. Sorry panels 13 and 14 in yellow are pretty rare. Quote

Jundis Posted March 14, 2023 Posted March 14, 2023 Now I wonder why Lego waited so long to introduce them into the line-up... they just look great. The thing is, the smaller 56 tires require a 0.5 stud offset to be leveled with the 81 tires. It's always a little pain in the brick. 15 minutes ago, Jurss said: Volvo bucket is really too big Yeah, the original bucket fits way better... Quote
2ndgen Posted March 14, 2023 Posted March 14, 2023 These are really cool sets (Moc), looking forward to seeing the rest of the beach buggy!!! Quote
1gor Posted March 14, 2023 Posted March 14, 2023 Somehow I was hoping that 8069 would be a kind of successor of 8455 set, but even tire proportions were off; at least your tire choice is much better Quote
Jurss Posted March 19, 2023 Author Posted March 19, 2023 Still don't have inspirtation to continue with beach buggy, so I'm building old sets with some fresh touch Quote
Jurss Posted March 21, 2023 Author Posted March 21, 2023 As built 42005, I was thinking, why not to build smaller version. So, some possible axle configuration was made Yes, wheels seems little too small, but don't know if more narrower axle could be made. Quote
Jurss Posted March 24, 2023 Author Posted March 24, 2023 Main chassis With spring setup like this, there is some supension travel (2+ studs), but it is still pretty hard suspension. It won't be so nice like on 42005 Quote
Jurss Posted October 8, 2023 Author Posted October 8, 2023 Buggy had some progress last 2 days (there was some storm outside). Now almost complete Quote
Alex Ilea Posted October 8, 2023 Posted October 8, 2023 Looks really cool! It could use 2 buggy motors, buwizz and a beach side driving video. Quote

Indeed, it's on the naworrer side, did you made this project go on ? Quote
Jurss Posted October 9, 2023 Author Posted October 9, 2023 It seems, that no, didn't made it to anything complete monstertruck. But I could return some day, as usual :) espacially - winter is coming, so I sill have more time for this hobby again. Quote
Lego Tom Posted October 9, 2023 Posted October 9, 2023 As one who has had a hand in building and owning full size buggies, I find your MOC amazingly true to form - especially the engine! Well done! Quote
