To throw my few cents in, I've been building only for Warzones- and only those that catch my eye, I've found myself getting Kaliphlined out. I've avoided Guerillas- those of us that just want to build cool stuff can do that still.

I really like the guerrilla system, because it allows all of my builds to be used for both LoM and GoH. I do, however, think the warzone points to guerrilla points is disproportionate. Just from a "get as many points as you can" view, the warzones are never worth it (especially for HC, who hasn't won a warzone yet)

It makes no difference if your team wins the warzone or not, each person who places receives extra points anyways  And as I pointed out before, any placing entry into a WZ is worth the same amount or more than an unsuccessful guerrilla.

I think there have been some good suggestions here. The reason I have been hesitant to change the rules is because we were running one system for two months now, and only having a month in the adjusted ruleset might seem unfair. I am more in favor of playing it out and then tweaking the rules. I think with all the suggestions and a few other things kicking around in my head (and the heads of others) we can bring down the extremity of the GAs and make it more fun for everyone.

Two Rules going into effect immediately though:

Last day to present a GA on a city or multiple VP location: May 17th

Last day to present a GA on a deep territory: May 24th.

Last day to present a normal GA: May: 31st.

These will let us end all voting during the second week of June, after people had one last week to counter.

So some theoretical rules changes for the "next time:"

WZ zones = more personal points

GA limited to one per two weeks

Counters one per week

Team GA v. Team Counters.

Posting GA threads not as pictures but only links so people read the stories.

WZ will be split up between "Great Warzones" That are a little more tactical -- certain types of builds will be required -- and the normal WZs, to make it a little more diverse.

Keep the ideas coming.

I am personally really impressed by everyone's efforts. I do understand that the system was upsetting to some of the old guard, it focuses a little too heavily on mass creation rather than coherent content that we have grown to expect in GoH.

Another note, the other two categories are a little more old school, and still have an important part to play in the overall end story about who will win the war.

Finally, there are a few more Cat C challenges coming, I don't know if we will hit 20 as planned, but there will be a flash attack (small build) for next week, and at least one more challenge for each week after.

I don't know what to say more than simply thank you, Ska.

This whole challenge really kicked me right in the butt to build more than I ever did before. And unlike in standard contests with k.o. system I never lost motivation. The whole story line, the fun to build with my team mates and our discussions about the best strategies really inspired me.

I'm glad when the war will be over though. But that's the feeling everyone should have about wars I guess.

Nonetheless this game was the perfect opportunity for me to get into GoH within a few weeks. I learned so much about the guilds, players, story and of course about techniques I used for the first time. It's just a giant bunch of fun and I'm glad I've been part of it.

Wait category D!?! First a month extension, then a new category!? This war can't go on forever! This challenge has been fantastic, but Eventually I want to start building stuff besides Kaliphlin!

It can and it will. Just kidding. I put in the extension because we always extend, and I was just doing it early. Cat D had always been planned, but it was more of a surprise at the end of the war.

do we just join a side here or what ??

Yes, only Ulandus and High Council are open at the moment though.

So, for Cat. B, can I include my Cat. A entry even if only for story purposes?

Yes.

So I guess Cat D entry can also be part of Cat B?

I would say yes, and I know this wasn't what you were thinking when asking the question, but it can't be the whole entry for Cat B. I guess we should say that no more than 1/3rd of a builders Cat B entry can be made up of their Cat D builds.

Wait-I thought we're supposed to make one cat d entry. I thought it's limited by the rule for cat c builds: 1/2 of cat b builds can be cat c entriees ( maybe the rule should just be 1/2 of the builds can be reused entries from a, c and d)

In my mind you could have 6 different builds as floats or parade pieces... but yes you are right, there is just one entry... I guess the whole parade could be part of B... sorry. Not sure what I was thinking.

Blue and Red.

ok thanks :)

Dark blue and normal red usually. For future reference, Mitgardia is green and yellow, Avalonia is dark green and sand green, Nocturnus is red and gold (although the Black Spire might disagree!) and Varlyrio is white and gold.

Ska, since you've asked for comments on the New Member Guide....:wink: I suggest adding the above linked pics to the guide. I tried to find pics of the "standard" military/government figs that usually represent each Guild. I was hoping there was one from Gideon as his general fig choices seem to have been chosen by many of the builders in this crazy Kali Book II challenge, but I haven't found one with with the Kaliphin standard like the Mitgardian and Avalonian pics. Of course Nocty doesn't have a "typical" army fig, so I snagged a pic from their thread that had the standard and a cool fig.
