Not a bad site design, but did they really have to ruin it with the YouTube ripoff?

Most of the feedback I have seen at my own forum on this is negative. I doubt this will be a real competitor to Brickshelf.

I myself am still hoping that BrickImage.net will be the one LEGO image host to rule them all.

It's not as if they intended to hide the fact that it's a rip-off, I'd say it's more of a parody myself. They don't seem to attempt to deceive anyone at least :-D

I just don't see why we need other sites now that BS is back up for good. BS is great in the fact that it's simple, we don't need a lot of different interfaces and features.

Actually it is not, in a any legal sense a parody. As BrickBay (now BrickLink) found out you cannot do business with a "parody" name. To be protected as a parody it has to be humourous and not a functioning enterprise. It is obviously not just a joke.

They may not be trying to deceive but they will, sooner or later, receive a cease and desist order from YouTube's lawyers and have no choice but to re-brand their site.

Actually I only used BriskShelf to store images to use for MOCpages. Now that MOCpages hosts pics I will probably shut down my BS account. One interface to upload pictures and create webpages for the MOCs.

At least BrickBay is actually a catchy name. I mean really, YouBrick? :-P
