Tombacus Posted March 6, 2015 Posted March 6, 2015 Here is my second Modular conversion. This time I started with two 31036 Toy Store and Grocery sets. I decided to just focus on the Toy Store, since the Green Grocer has the groceries covered. Like my Bike Shop and Cafe MOD, I wanted to try to keep the feel of the original. This is also my first attempt at an interior. 2015-03-05 16.45.46 I stole the sign idea from DDoshini... The ground floor is the toy store. A variety of things for sale. The first floor is a little office and storage for more toys. The top floor is a workshop where the owner makes his toys! More photos here... Quote
mediumsnowman Posted March 6, 2015 Posted March 6, 2015 Awesome mods 'Tombacus' You're making me want to buy another one and do this... Personally I think the third floor should be an apartment for the owner. Great job though! Quote
lightningtiger Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 Wonderful modular conversion 'Tombacus'........keep them coming and Brick On ! Quote
Andy D Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 That is really great! Time to get another and start building. Andy D Quote
Kristel Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 Really nice! Fits in well with the official modulars. Quote
Off the wall Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 Nice. Very nice. I just finished a row of seven 'brownstones' based on the PS. In doing that, I had to supplement with parts from my inventory. We're you able to building this solely with parts from two 31036s or did it take some extra parts? Anyway, it looks great and fits right in. Nice detail. Quote
peedeejay Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 This is a very nice MOD! Did you use two sets again? Quote
Tombacus Posted March 7, 2015 Author Posted March 7, 2015 I used two sets plus a number of extra parts. Mainly extra bricks for the walls, extra red and yellow slopes for the awnings and the dark blue slopes for the roof. Quote
bjorkan Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 I would like to step into the toys store, I like it :) Quote
gazumpty Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 Nicely done...great inspiration for the use of this creator set...hmmm now off to see if i can pilfer a couple of these Quote
LittleJohn Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 Excellent MOD! I really like the balls inside and the dark blue roof looks great! Quote
Bennemans Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 This is looking very nice! When I bought 31036 I was absolutely horrified with how freaking ugly the set was! (but, meh, I used it as a parts pack) This is kinda mending my view of the set :D Quote
finnbricker Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 Wonderful work! I feel envious. I'm thinking about maybe getting two more sets and copying your façade, this is so much better than my own 16-wide version! I like the way you've placed the letters of the toy store and the versatility of the façade. Also the idea of an old fashioned store+warehouse+workshop is great! Quote
etidquist Posted April 2, 2015 Posted April 2, 2015 Great Job, how many extra bricks besides 2 sets of the 31036 Quote
thewally42 Posted April 2, 2015 Posted April 2, 2015 This is great and really makes me want to pick up two of these sets now. I've been on the fence about them. Quote
Withacee Posted April 3, 2015 Posted April 3, 2015 Nice MOD! Well, it's a MOC, really. I especially love the way the left part with the entrance is "indented". Great facade, too, with a great combination of colours. Keep clinking those bricks together! Quote
