Anio Posted August 11, 2015 Author Posted August 11, 2015 Hello, I updated my C-3PO. So I've updated the pictures, video, etc. Here is the final model : The new video : - galerie FlickR : https://www.flickr.c...157657124074835 - galerie Brickshelf : http://www.brickshel...ry.cgi?f=553927 The instruction will be updated within the next months. The things I have updated : - the biggest update is on the arms. There are now more realistic, and totally articulated - the printed mouth. And for that I would like to thank my friend Efjie. If you need to print some custom parts, you may be in touch with him at the following email address : ==> efjie-brick[at]outlook[dot]com - the overall position is different, especially on the legs. It enables me to make better hips and a more stable model - some minor (well, not so minor :o ) updates here and there (head, shoulders, groin). Hope you like it more. I do. :D Anio Quote
Lobot Posted August 11, 2015 Posted August 11, 2015 Amazing work Anio! I didn't think that you could improve on the original, but it's now a genuine masterpiece  I dread to think how much this would cost to build, but perhaps one day....! Quote
lostcarpark Posted August 12, 2015 Posted August 12, 2015 Amazing! Did you consider giving him a silver leg, as in the movie? James Quote

Did you consider giving him a silver leg, as in the movie? No. I prefer the Episode III version. It looks more consistent on a Lego model. Quote
Mr Man Posted August 14, 2015 Posted August 14, 2015 No. I prefer the Episode III version. It looks more consistent on a Lego model. So not an Episode VII one with a red arm as well . Quote
Anio Posted August 14, 2015 Author Posted August 14, 2015 So not an Episode VII one with a red arm as well . God, no. That's so ugly. Quote
YellowCorvette Posted August 14, 2015 Posted August 14, 2015 Great job you have here! One question, did this model has any articulation on the legs like Bionicle and Hero Factory sets? Quote
Anio Posted August 15, 2015 Author Posted August 15, 2015 Great job you have here! One question, did this model has any articulation on the legs like Bionicle and Hero Factory sets? It is articulated everywhere, except the knees (to keep the model stable). See video above. Quote
Mr Man Posted August 18, 2015 Posted August 18, 2015 God, no. That's so ugly. Oh, I'd agree with that. Quote

In my opinion, that's what a 74 years old droid should look like.It make no sense for C-3P0 that lived for almost 70 years still has shiny armor and still don't have broken arms and legs. It's like saying that a 70 year old car MUST be damaged and rusty. What about well maintained and cared for car (or droid)? Shiny metal coating can be restored and damaged parts can be repaired. And to stay on topic: Anio's droid is simply beautiful! Quote

Who said I was trying to reproduce a 70 year old droid ? Moreover, keep in mind that C-3PO has never been as rusty as when he was 1 year old. haha. Quote

Yes, but Protocol Droids are 10 a penny, getting a matching arm and leg should't be too hard. Quote
Adolfo Posted August 23, 2015 Posted August 23, 2015 Amazing, just amazing! The all work with golden bricks is very nice and rare at the same time. Congrats! Quote
Anio Posted August 23, 2015 Author Posted August 23, 2015 Thank you. :) The gold chrome is not a very common color indeed. We don't see it often, especially with such quantity. But as it is a "custom" color (it does exist in TLG, but people can reproduce the process), it will never be discontinued. It is even possible to have every part you want in gold chrome. So technically speaking, gold chrome is one of the colors with the widest range of bricks available. Paradoxical, isn't it ? Quote
