crossmr Posted March 17, 2015 Posted March 17, 2015 BQ is wearing the skimpy outfit to get the horny AFOLS to watch her. I can't watch her - do reviewers even need to show their face in general? I feel like it's unnecessary for LEGO I just looked her up and saw about 3 seconds of that. Absolutely nothing about that would entice me to watch her. Quote
Brickster_McGee Posted March 18, 2015 Posted March 18, 2015 +TBS +Others Recommend the Brick Truth blog about the controversy, hasn't been updated in a while - but good reads. I'm against LEGO tubers because they are in it for money, not for the LEGO. I enjoy having no spoilers of play features, as well. I agree that a lot are into it for the money, but I wouldn't say all of them are (besides I'm sure there really isn't that much money to be had)... You can tell people like BrickTsar & BrickSpy are into it for LEGO, since you already know that they have been collecting LEGO since they were children, and you have all seen their HUGE collections (BrickSpy has filled several rooms in his house full of LEGO). And others like Just2Good are pure LEGO fanatics for sure... But people like BrickQueen, TheBrickShow, & EvanTube are definitely in it only for the money. BQ has done videos on her channel about her distaste of the LEGO group (because apparently they do not like her), she started reviewing other toys just for that reason. BrickShow sells pretty much all of their sets after reviewing them, and I've seen videos of them telling how they weren't really into LEGO as a kid. EvanTube likes LEGO just about as much as any little kid would, but you can obviously tell he is just a puppet, and his YT channel is really his Dad's (who reaps all the benefits) So I do think it's an unfair statement to say all LEGO YouTubers are only in it for the money, since a lot of them make very little money with it compared to the cost of the LEGO sets. Jared Posted March 22, 2015 Posted March 22, 2015 I forgot about Artifex. His videos I'm pretty sure Artifex is a lady.... no? Quote
Amset-Rah Posted March 24, 2015 Posted March 24, 2015 I'm pretty sure Artifex is a lady.... no? Ah, my mistake. Still, my point stands on the awesome, yet simple videos. (Shrug) Quote
Artanis I Posted March 24, 2015 Posted March 24, 2015 Is Youtube Artifex the same person as Eurobricks Artifex? Quote
Niku Posted March 25, 2015 Posted March 25, 2015 I stopped looking at any videos a while back...got tired of them. I only liked Brickformula (actually had a script and could do it well), and he stopped making videos...so no biggie. I might look at the official Lego stuff, but even that is tiresome to me... Brickformula was great! He presented fantastically the sets and parts. And was fun too. Quote
zmasterbrick Posted March 29, 2015 Posted March 29, 2015 (edited) I just looked her up and saw about 3 seconds of that. Absolutely nothing about that would entice me to watch her. After reading a few posts here I had to check her (BQ) out, and I will say this with confidence, she is xxxxx xx xxxx xx x xxxx xx xxx. Pretty good laugh though. Edit: you know, I've spoke my mind many times on stuff like this in many different forums and threads, and it always comes back to haunt me. More power to the Queen! or anyone else for that matter......... Edited March 29, 2015 by zmasterbrick Quote
BrickQueen Posted April 3, 2015 Posted April 3, 2015 (edited) I'm here if anyone would like to ask me questions, but in the meantime.... Let me say this to those of you who think I am on YouTube for money... You couldn't be more wrong. Do I live in some elaborate mansion? No, I live in a two bedroom apartment. What I call my "LEGO room" is the second bedroom. That's the room I have my little review station set up in, a small table set up for stop motions, and I store all of my toys in that room. I call it my "LEGO room" because that's where I do everything for YouTube. You may also be interested to know that I still work a full time 8-5 office job Mon-Fri to pay for my hobby. To the questions of what I wear on YouTube, I ask you, when was the last time I wore the Slave Leia outfit? I looked it up. It was over 2 years ago. I stopped wearing it because not everyone approved of it. I never meant it to be an overly sexual thing. It was meant as a fun way to liven up dull reviews by wearing a costume. I do read my comments and when I see that numerous people are not happy with something I am doing or wearing, I do try to change. I know some of you think my reviews are boring. Well, to be prefectly honest with you, I know some of my old reviews really were boring. That's because I was a little camera shy in my beginning days of YouTube. I feel like over time, I have improved, and I am constantly looking for ways to make my reviews more entertaining and engaging. Edited April 3, 2015 by BrickQueen Quote

The more you explain this kind of stuff, the more fuel you set on the flame. It has really come down to the fact that you have to do it because you like doing it. And if you want to take your shirt off, that's cool too. Quote

Seeing things from your point of view, I kind of feel a little dirty now for some things I may have said before. TBH, I kind of thought your style was kind of fun, and now that you have BrickTitan along for the ride, you know what they say about two heads being better than one. To make a long story short, I apologize if I said some unsavory things about the Slave Leia video or anything. There's an old adage I can't believe I didn't utilize about "If you think you can do better, do it" but then I realized a 22 year old fat dude in a Slave Leia cosplay would frankly give anyone nightmares. xD You're OK in my book. Don't sweat a thing! ;) Quote

I could say a lot of nasty things on here, but I'm going to keep it professional and stick to the facts. I don't think what you wear is the main thing that makes you controversial, it's good that you took the feedback and decided to wear more appropriate attire (still a lot of cleavage, but whatever), but there are so many other things that put you in the spotlight in a negative way. I guess I could go through the laundry list of things that you've done that make you a poor player in the LEGO community... But I know that when I name off all those things, you will have some sort of excuse or denial about each one. I can understand that sometimes people get falsely accused of things, but when talking about LEGO & controversy, I can probably think of a dozen or more times you have been at the center of it. One time can explained away as "that person was just against me for no reason" but a dozen or more times people really need to ask the question if you really are a hero in the LEGO community, or just a nasty villain... I'm honestly not sure how you expect me to respond when you don't say any specific times, so I'll respond in a general answer. I am not perfect. I know that I have made some mistakes in life and on YouTube. All I can say is that I have tried to improve not only my videos but my attitude over the years I have been on YouTube. So if you have any recent experiences to mention, I'd love to hear them so I can address them if need be. If you're only referencing things that happened years ago, I would ask that you please stop bringing up the past and let's all agree to live in the present. Quote
