March 17, 20159 yr I was thinking camera, but I reckon button is it. That or toggle switch. I can't tell what the parts below the round plate are though. At first I thought a technic cog, but how would that connect?
March 17, 20159 yr I'm stuck on the 'metaphysical' aspect and how it relates to the other clues. Is it... A design? / An idea? Connections?
March 17, 20159 yr Author push button switch? transistor? Dr_spock that is correct, it is a button. Now that you know what it is, its time to guess what it does. Here is a look at the device I'm building that uses the button in the picture above. Can you figure out what it is going to do. I'm stuck on the 'metaphysical' aspect and how it relates to the other clues. Is it... A design? / An idea? Connections? Your exactly right, Its dealing with connections, Like the menus that appear on the TV screen and such can be recognize as a type of virtual button. The touch screens today make access to these virtual buttons be done with ease. That is what I'm trying to convey with the metaphysical aspect behind it.
March 17, 20159 yr Author Think about it and keep guessing. Its not a remote to detonate anything like a bomb or remote to launch a catapult. I will give you a little clue to what you see at the end, it is not a antenna but its a sensor. Edited March 17, 20159 yr by Boxerlego
March 18, 20159 yr Author Those are all good guesses but it is not a radon gas detector, smoke detector, fireplace starter remote, or Ghostbuster trap, nor does it detect sound waves. The device is said to have many uses and that means it has many names that is the hint for today. Edited March 18, 20159 yr by Boxerlego
March 20, 20159 yr Author It's a device for getting replies to a thread. ...and it works! Well right now I suppose Yes that is what it is but in the future it is going to work. All I need is the sensor and I'm ready to complete it. I don't even know if the sensor will fit inside the Lego cylinder part, Time will only tell on that... I plan to connect the sensor up to the PF wires. Look at the bottom of the picture here you can see a part of the PF wire poking out. Barely even noticeable. There is also a coin battery inside and a green and red LED. Edited March 20, 20159 yr by Boxerlego
March 21, 20159 yr Is it simply a 'touch' sensor? There are plenty of those in MindStorms, but none that easily works with PF. As for applications, well, train switch is the first one that comes to mind.
March 21, 20159 yr Do you know what your looking at? Can you guess what this part is and also what it does? I give you one hint this hint might revel everything or it might reveal nothing depends on how you perceive things but here it is. There is at least a 100+ of them in front of you at any given time of the day. There are not many things that there are 100+ in front of "you" at any given time of day. For me it could not be LEGO, as there in no LEGO in front of me right now. One of the few things that is universally in front of people is skin cells or maybe dust. Andy D
March 21, 20159 yr Author @DrJB Very interesting, that is a good idea. However it is not a touch sensor but it could be a used as a train sensor for LEGO that is for sure... @Andy D Well you must look at the mystery LEGO and guess what it supposed to be.There is alot going on there and multiple ideas are being projected just thought this one picture. The mystery LEGO doubles also as a MOC of a button on a keyboard while at the same time the LEGO Round Plate that severs as the image that would be printed on the button. That is what I am trying to convey with my hint in the quote here. Even the square purple 1x1 tile was supposed to be a sort of hidden clue for the button. There is at least a 100+ of them in front of you at any given time of the day. If you sit down in front of a keyboard there is a chance that there are at least 100+ of them in front of you.
March 22, 20159 yr Author Depends on how you look at the keyboard. Specifically that part is not underneath a keyboard but a variant of it is. A place that you could probably see this part Is on a cheap remote for a TV.
