Gideon Posted March 15, 2015 Posted March 15, 2015 (edited) Defending the Supplies Cavalry from the desert tribes loyal to the Kaliphlin High Council is guarding a supply wagon to prevent any more Ulandian attacks. Their ranks include both agile spearmen and swift and accurate mounted archers, which would make any dismounted Ulandian force very sorry for trying to attack another wagon. They are also excellent scouts with the desert as their native environment, so attempts at ambushing the supply wagons would not be likely to go unnoticed. Counter build to the guerrilla attack by Garmadon at square H6. Edited March 15, 2015 by Gideon Quote
LordDan Posted March 15, 2015 Posted March 15, 2015 Nice troops! I certianly wouldn't want to mess with this wagon!! Quote
MassEditor Posted March 15, 2015 Posted March 15, 2015 Indeed, fantastic troops! Great desert landscaping as well. Quote
Capt Wolf Posted March 15, 2015 Posted March 15, 2015 Good scene! Landscape is great, and I realy like the supply wagon and posing of troops. But I must say I was hoping to see camels. Still, I really like it! Quote
Captain Braunsfeld Posted March 15, 2015 Posted March 15, 2015 Nice build. Is this a mead transport again? Quote
LittleJohn Posted March 15, 2015 Posted March 15, 2015 Sweet build, Gideon! I really like the path and desert shrubs Are the brown grass stalks official LEGO? Quote
Gideon Posted March 15, 2015 Author Posted March 15, 2015 (edited) Thanks guys! But I must say I was hoping to see camels. Still, I really like it! Of course the desert tribes use camels as well, but most of their light cavalry favor the breed of horses from the Siccus badlands famous for their speed and endurance. OoC: Good idea, I havn't used the camels for a while and should probably include them in some upcoming war build. Are the brown grass stalks official LEGO? Indeed they are! Old brown and only found in one set back in 2003 though... Glad to have bought a few when they were "only" around €1 a piece http://www.bricklink...Item.asp?P=3741 Edited March 15, 2015 by Gideon Quote
soccerkid6 Posted March 15, 2015 Posted March 15, 2015 Lovely path and desert landscape The Lone Ranger horses work well here too Quote
de Gothia Posted March 15, 2015 Posted March 15, 2015 Inspiration as always when I look at your mocs and photo quality! Now I know how the cavalry looks like! Even more of those PoP helmets!! Quote
Gideon Posted March 15, 2015 Author Posted March 15, 2015 Now I know how the cavalry looks like! Even more of those PoP helmets!! Turbans are just as common among the light cavalry of the desert, especially for mounted archers. Having a heavy and hot helmet on the head in the searing Kaliphlin heat is not very comfortable and decreases agility. Quote
Kai NRG Posted March 16, 2015 Posted March 16, 2015 So the driver's who can't take care of themselves get red carpet treatment? I thought the High Council had more important things to attend to. Nice counter! Quote
Garmadon Posted March 16, 2015 Posted March 16, 2015 Very nice desert landscape, Gideon, those cavalrymen certainly look formidable! ...any dismounted Ulandian force [would be] very sorry for trying to attack another wagon... Remind me to send mounted troops next time Quote
