mutley777 Posted August 3, 2007 Posted August 3, 2007 You found the visor then Aayla :-D Nice job on cody *y* Quote
Hinckley Posted August 3, 2007 Posted August 3, 2007 He aayla-I'm glad you found what you were looking for... *sweet* *y* Whenever I see your custom figs I get a little pain in my heart. There were a few pieces I decided to paint as a kid and now I totally regret it. I believe Armothe told me formula 409 removes testor's model paint...I will have to double check with him. Anyway, I would advise you to keep a good number of your figs for the future, unpainted. I would hate for you to try and assemble a clone army one day only to find that you don't like the way they look painted. :-) Just some friendly advice from an experienced AFOL... Quote
Jipay Posted August 3, 2007 Posted August 3, 2007 I second that opinion, try to avoid painting your figs and use stickers (even though you seem to hate them). They are easely removable, so no harm could be done to your bricks. @ hinckley : the described products not only removes the paint you used on the model, but also removes the original lego paint :-/ Quote

I had a feeling that was the case. Is that for decorated pieces only or will it take the color out of a brick? I doubt it could take the color out of a brick, but I've been wrong before... I painted a light gray one of these: :-X :'-( Quote
PSPguy Posted August 4, 2007 Posted August 4, 2007 The visor colour is orange and you painted it gold? Why? Quote
SirNadroj Posted August 4, 2007 Posted August 4, 2007 Cool! But I also think you should use decals. (personally, I don't like to customize any of my figs, but thats just me) @ hinckley : the described products not only removes the paint you used on the model, but also removes the original lego paint :-/ If you want to get rid of original paint, you could also use Brasso! It works well, especially, say, if there is a plain coloured torso you need, but you don't have it, use brasso on it, and WA-LA! A plain coloured torso.* *(VIGOROUS SCRUBING REQUIRED) :-( Quote

A plain coloured torso.* *(VIGOROUS SCRUBING REQUIRED) :-( Thanks Sir Nadroj. I do know the Brasso trick. I found that diluting some in water and soaking the torsos over night helps to reduce the elbow grease required. Will that get off testor's model paint though? Quote
SirNadroj Posted August 4, 2007 Posted August 4, 2007 I don't know, i've never tried. It may, but I'm not sure. And next time I use it, I'll be sure to soak my figures overnight, so thank you! My hands hurt so bad from all the extra scrubbing! :-D Quote
