Yzalirk Posted March 17, 2015 Posted March 17, 2015 (edited) So, I was surfing the internet and managed to find this store that sells LEGO things. I'm interested in buying some minifigs at this website, which is called Toysture.com (here's a link.) The website looks promising and the minifigs I want here are at a pretty good price and I'm not sure if it's too good to be true. If anyone can help me with this, I would gladly appreciate it. Iria Posted March 17, 2015 Posted March 17, 2015 Just looking at the inexpensive prices on rare sought after sets, I'm highly skeptical right away. Everything seems to be marked as new, unopened. Shipping is extremely cheap and claims to be coming from the US, though it states it has UK domain. No reviews anywhere. This is the only thing I could find on them: From the website Scam Adviser, in summary: " Low Trust Rating. This Site May Not Be Safe to Use. As with all new businesses , we suggest that you take care and if necessary get in contact with the owners before placing an order of value. This site has a high risk country associated with it. This may be as you expect but care should be taken if purchasing an item from a site that you didn't expect to be associated with the countries listed above. Certain countries are listed as being high risk because of the high percentage of online fraud or tendency to send fake/replica items. Free email addresses have been used in the setup of this website. This is not necesarily worrying, depending on the site. For online shops, this can be a sign that the site has some risk. The website has been newly registered with a short life expectancy, which follows the pattern used by many fraudulent and fake selling websites. Yzalirk Posted March 18, 2015 Author Posted March 18, 2015 Okay, thank you for the information. Websites like that make me sick and want to vomit because it's disgusting. I'm better off from buying from Amazon then.
bonox Posted March 18, 2015 Posted March 18, 2015 I found them a little while ago looking for some classic space monorail stuff, and the scam adviser stuff gets pretty deep, ending up in China with a creation date a couple of weeks ago. From what i've read, someone has a quick way of generating a site with lucrative sounding stuff and prices on it - they take a bunch of orders and then disappear. Something new pops up shortly after. If you were desperate, you could try an initial order of something tiny and see what happens, but it's a gamble you should be prepared to lose.
Hauntedwebby Posted March 18, 2015 Posted March 18, 2015 It's a new website. Domain register 26-Dec-2014. It is an EU domain and hosting company. There are 4 other shopping domains on the same server. It has no Google Analytics done on it. They accept PayPal which means your funds are protected, but not your time. They look like reseller for a U.S. Lego Drop Shipper, if lagitamit. I wouldn't buy from them because their Powered by is showing their name instead of the shopping cart dev name. So it was probably open source and they removed the dev name, which they shouldn't. So they are ok breaking rules, even minor ones. The Privacy Policy has no information, so who knows what they do with your information. Since most people use the same user name/password for everything. They could be phishing for information. You order from them, they don't deliver. You get your money back, but now they have your PID, a password and half of your PayPal login information (since most people only have 1 email).

Seriously though, they have only registered this domain for one year, which probably cost as much as your lunch. That is perfectly allowable but it is the absolute minimum and strange for a business.
