SirNadroj Posted August 5, 2007 Posted August 5, 2007 I think its a ploy to sell the sets at a higher price. Another limited set is the Skeleton Ship Attack, but lego came up with the excuse that the skeleton capatin is an exclusive figure. :-| Quote
Asuka Posted August 5, 2007 Posted August 5, 2007 I guess the only one who really knows is not talking that much at all.... :-P Quote

Siegfried Posted August 5, 2007 Posted August 5, 2007 In my experience it can vary. The Bridge Walker set was "Limited", and I rushed out and bought it, but is still around now. However the Heavy Loader set (7900) actually did seem limited. In short, I think it means little. "Exclusives" in my experience are the same. I have seen many "exclusive" sets in other stores, they often just take a few more months to get there. Quote
lego trains rule Posted August 5, 2007 Posted August 5, 2007 7905 was too,you can still get it but for $20 more then original and only on or at lego *n* Quote
Siegfried Posted August 5, 2007 Posted August 5, 2007 7905 was too,you can still get it but for $20 more then original and only on or at lego *n* I was forced to buy mine online as it has never came down to my locality in volume. Quote
SuvieD Posted August 5, 2007 Posted August 5, 2007 Exclusives mean that it is only available in a few places for purchase. Often TRU and LEGO shop at home will get those and sometimes Target too. Limited edition means limited quantity and often limited in the number of places it can be purchased. When it comes down to it, especially with Star Wars sets you probably should buy them as soon as you are able. Otherwise you will end up pay double or triple in the future. Quote
Zzz Posted August 5, 2007 Posted August 5, 2007 I was really sure that tlc meant the figures were limited: white k-3po in hoth / r2 unit in the cruiser / skeleton captain in skeleton ship and so I thought that in the future the sets will be available but not these special figures... just a way to grab more of your precious money if you ask me. and so far these figures are not worth to rush into things and not wait for a tru or lego sale..... but hey.. in the eu they are not available or even announced yet..... THAT is limited.. :'-( did you ask me? ;-) Quote
WookieeWarrior Posted August 5, 2007 Posted August 5, 2007 Let's take the other two limited editions in recent years that are both from the Star Wars line (apples and apples)- Ultimate Space Battle and Inperial Inspection. They were around for about 2 months at most, and a MISB goes for around $200 USD on eBay. Quote

True BUT that X-Wing (6212) which is supposed to be limited (yeay right) can still be purchased in high numbers in TRU in France *wacko* France do not advertise the "limited" on the box anyway hehe Bottom line, to be sure, I would recommand to buy Exclusives/Limited sets as early as possible to prevent any future risks *yoda* Quote
WookieeWarrior Posted August 6, 2007 Posted August 6, 2007 Right. I typically wait a few months after a set comes out to get it, but I went ahead and bought the Sith Infiltrator on S@H yesterday just to be sure. Quote
