sm1995 Posted March 30, 2015 Author Posted March 30, 2015 (edited) Choose truck :) How would you extend this crane sections? Haha I might. If you're referrering to the telescopic part, I opted to not have one in this build. I think that telescopic sections on Knucklebooms just look ugly, kinda like the crane on the 8258( I really don't like that crane :p ) I really want to build a suspended 8*4 with link-steering and a bogie axle at the back. White cab, black crane... that does sound kinda good :) Edited March 30, 2015 by sm1995 Quote
Dafgek81 Posted March 30, 2015 Posted March 30, 2015 And what about instructions on this one? Still no chance? Quote
750ACE Posted March 30, 2015 Posted March 30, 2015 If you are not going to make instructions maybe you could team up with one of the great instruction designers here on EB. Such a waste not to document the option of building this beauty. Quote
Dafgek81 Posted March 30, 2015 Posted March 30, 2015 I realy agree, I have a long list off building wishes, and this one would be in my top 5 Quote

It means a lot that you guys like my MOC, but when I started out I had no idea that there would any demand for instructions at all, so I didn't really document any part of the build. How would I go about collaborating with someone to make instructions in a case like this ? I don't even have an LDD model because this whole thing was designed in my head. Dafgek81 Posted March 31, 2015 Posted March 31, 2015 I am shure someone of the goeroes here would like to help you just ask them here on this forum. Quote
Thirdwigg Posted March 31, 2015 Posted March 31, 2015 This is excellent. How much is the crane able to lift? Quote
Josephiah Posted March 31, 2015 Posted March 31, 2015 The easiest way from the point you're at is probably just to take a series of photos during disassembly (doing it in some sort of logical-ish order), then reverse the order of the pics. Quote
sm1995 Posted April 1, 2015 Author Posted April 1, 2015 This is excellent. How much is the crane able to lift? Thanks :) and the crane is able lift a decent amount( I tested it with a Unimog wheel) but the limitation comes from the L motor rather than the structure itself. In hindsight I probably should've used an XL-motor instead. Quote

Wow. That's a lot of work. Frankly I don't know if I have the time to do something like that right now. I'm really sorry guys, I promise I'll make something even better next time with instructions. gti180 Posted April 1, 2015 Posted April 1, 2015 looks really cool, really like how simple yet well thought out the chassis is. Quote
Dafgek81 Posted April 1, 2015 Posted April 1, 2015 If you promiss to make a very nice truck like this one, but even better and with instructions, I'll wait for that. Quote

Dafgek81 Posted April 1, 2015 Posted April 1, 2015 Thank you, this guy is waiting already!!!!! Will see it coming!!!!! Quote
Nalyd997 Posted April 2, 2015 Posted April 2, 2015 If you post some pictures of the chassis (without the cab, box and crane) I could possibly make you an LDD for it. I have quite a bit of free time now. If you do I shall see whether I will be able to figure it out. This MOC is definitely worth it! Quote

You made that post right on time cause I just started parting it out. I'll upload a few stripped-out chassis pictures to my brickshelf this weekend. :) Quote
Nalyd997 Posted April 2, 2015 Posted April 2, 2015 Sweet! It would be cool if you could also upload a picture of all the parts that would help when reconstructing it in LDD Quote
sm1995 Posted April 3, 2015 Author Posted April 3, 2015 Sweet! Thank you very much for all the effort you're willing to put into this! Much appreciated. Quote
Dafgek81 Posted April 3, 2015 Posted April 3, 2015 So will there be a LDD file for the whole truck afterall???? Quote
sm1995 Posted April 3, 2015 Author Posted April 3, 2015 So will there be a LDD file for the whole truck afterall???? Not sure about the whole truck, but just the chassis probably. Things like the cab you could probably reverse engineering from the pictures I've already posted. I mean even the chassis itself is rather simple and straightforward. I presume someone with experience in LDD could probably model it fairly easily.... but what do I know? I can't even connect 2 bricks together in LDD Quote
Dafgek81 Posted April 3, 2015 Posted April 3, 2015 I can't either. And reverse engineering a cab and the rest from the pictures, that will never happen with me. I am more of a collector than a building genius. I can build from instructions, but that is where my expertise ends. Quote
Nalyd997 Posted April 3, 2015 Posted April 3, 2015 I will try to do everything hopefully, it may take a while though. I shall get started tonight! Quote
