As for the Tintin reference - there are quite a few Tintin with secret passage. However none with a barrel. To name a couple albums with secret passages, I can think of Flight 714 or Prisoners of the Sun. Would we not love a Tintin theme?

Just have to correct you on this - its in The Crab With The Golden Claws.

Not sure if this link will work:

The wine barrel is empty and is actually a passage that leads to the catacombs.

Oh, and fantastic MOC by the way. Looks great! I really like it.

Aw, that is stunning.

Considering the relatively "limited" base plate size, the details are absolutely unsurpassed.

Love the "see-through" walls. to show all the interiors.

Keep clicking those bricks together!

Guys! I am stupefied at the number of comments I received... and so honored to have been part of the front page.

This is spectacular, the rock work in front is stunning and the fort itself is beautiful.

Thanks a lot for this comment. As I said previously, this took by far the most time in the build but I was happy at the result. It was also interresting as I worked on a mix of SNOT and Studs on top and decided to use 5 colors.

Beautiful colors and architecture. Well worth the front page.

Thanks Blufiji. I was so pleased to see this build on the front page and I am happy to see that you see this as a deserving build.

I'm speechless. Absolutely amazing work Kinggregus! pirate_classic.gif

Thanks NBV83!

Thanks for the clarification Magma. Wouldn't we all wish that Tintin becomes an official Lego theme?

As portuguese and an Algarve lover, I can tell you that this is very accurate. The cliff is spetacular as the rest of the MOC. Congratz! pir_laugh2.gif

Cesbrick, no one could have made a comment that would make me as happy as yours. You could have actually said "as Portuguese and an Algarve lover, and the most amazing MOCer, I can..." pirate_classic.gif

Very stunning fort you made!!!! So many details I absolutely love!!! Applause! pirate_satisfied.gif

Thanks a lot Maxim I. This is really encouraging to build more.

Fantastic job, and brilliant color scheme, KINGGREGUS! Excellent work with all the play features and details as well! pirate_satisfied.gif

Thanks Garmadon! I am glad you liked the play features. For the story, it started out by building the cliffs, then I figured that 1) I would not have enough space to build an entire fort and 2) It would be nice to place something behind the cliffs. Then, I imagined a prison cell but needed, light and access to it. The second module had a much more integrated approach in regards to the play features.

I just love it... :pir-wub:

Waouh.

Thanks Tijgeric!

Fantastic construction. Congratulations!

Thanks Argalex, glad you like it.

I really love the wet sand near the water. Looks very realistic!

At last! someone who notices that details pirate_laugh2.gif. It was indeed a technique I had not seen before but which makes, in my opinion, the best effect. It is only a bit heavier piece-wise.

That's downright glorious. Love the cliffs, the barrel, and just the whole playset feel of this. Awesome job.

Thanks Thomas of Tortuga. I am glad you like it. Indeed we tend to forget that Lego is first and foremost a playset.

This MOC amazed me. I'd like to echo the compliments on your cliff face design - I've never seen that color scheme before and you've executed it flawlessly. Well done!

Thanks so much Plaid Beard. I really appreciate your encouraging words. I do agree that it was my intention to add a bit more variety in the color design of cliffs.

Thanks Withacee. It's true that when we see an XL base plate, we think that it is huge, but when we start layering our MOC, we notice that space is more limited that one might think. It always amaze me when MOCer manager to build an entire castle or fort in one single base plate.

This is one of a stunning and epic moc, with so many details that you can loose time in watching it :wub_drool:

Thanks VFracingteam! Without sounding too narcissistic, I too enjoy watching the back picture of the fort as the fort is currently against a wall.

I don't think I can add any fresh superlatives, so I'll just say this: that is one beautiful fort. The color scheme is excellent (and unique) and the level of detailing is incredible. The piece count would be entirely too high for an official set, but I think that's what most of us think of when we think of a Lego fort. I like all those soldiers and officers, and they definitely give us a little variety during these "blue" times! The crane is a nice touch and looks pretty well-built, and I like the way you've incorporated all those different size arches to create an extremely thick wall around the cannons. Unlike many of the small outpost "forts" that we see on the forum, this one actually looks like it could withstand an attack from a warship. The all-around design looks very stable and should offer hours of playing time. My only gripe is that I don't have a copy sitting on my desk! Keep on building!
