CisFran Posted September 12, 2015 Posted September 12, 2015 (edited) to continue.. the prison holding a captive Full battery of cannons The stern..If you will notice, i replaced the dark brown inverted slope 75 2 x 1 x 3 with brick round 1x1 and inverted slope 45 2 x 1. The original ones were hard to find and expensive The reddish brown support 2x2x11 which is also very expensive and very hard to find were replace by 2x2 rounds The completed model sans the sails. Still need to decide where to display it since dust is a killer. Once inside the cabinet, will put the sails thereafter. Pardon the flag. I will finally use the Bluecoats flag from the set 70412, Soldiers Fort, which is already in order. Edited September 12, 2015 by CisFran Quote
BrickOn Posted September 12, 2015 Posted September 12, 2015 I really like it. Good substitutions. Don't fancy the captives chances, based on the skeleton. Will you swap the two red flags for blue ones when you change to bluecoat flag, I think that's the only change I would be tempted to make. Quote
CisFran Posted September 12, 2015 Posted September 12, 2015 Yes the two small red flags will also be replaced to blue, already in order. I also ordered the Governor so the population of the Imperial ship will increase in no time Quote
VintageLegoEra Posted September 12, 2015 Posted September 12, 2015 Cool looking Ship....u did a great job in finding alternative parts to substitute. BTW, regarding the hanging boat. Is it there from the beginning or u MOD it?. Cos i am still didnt build mine. Quote
CisFran Posted September 12, 2015 Posted September 12, 2015 Thanks! Very satisfying experience! I would recommend it to anyone who wish to own an imperial flagship but taken aback by the prohibitive cost of a brand new one. For the blue boat, I just added it later by attaching it using a technic pin. Quote

karmajay Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 Looks great! I'm very tempted to bricklink it now! Quote
VintageLegoEra Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 I have ordered more 4 cannons, 2 white containers and dark blue boat. These parts will make the set very complete Quote

I just bought a torso and headgear of the governor and used a SW head and a white leg. Edited September 15, 2015 by CisFran Quote
karmajay Posted September 18, 2015 Posted September 18, 2015 I'm at work or I would do better research but are the hull pieces the same that are in #79008 Pirate Ship Ambush (LotR). Thanks! Quote

Yes you can use the newer version of the hull, part#95227 as against the old part# 2560. They are identical and use the same mold, the difference is the newer one is held together by 5 technic pins which is much more stable than the old one held by two 2x4 bricks. If I had known it earlier, I will use the new one which is more cheaper and can get it brand new. Just want to be more sure about the Technich part used, is it the Black one or blue small one?... Use the black technic pin Edited September 19, 2015 by CisFran Quote
VintageLegoEra Posted September 28, 2015 Posted September 28, 2015 So any update on final look? Quote
CisFran Posted October 15, 2015 Posted October 15, 2015 (edited) Installed the sails now :) Edited October 18, 2015 by CisFran Quote
Sigolf Brimabane Posted October 15, 2015 Posted October 15, 2015 It looks much better as a bluecoat ship Quote
VintageLegoEra Posted October 16, 2015 Posted October 16, 2015 (edited) Great final looking..now i think you have to plan on getting a Red Coat ship ;-) Edited October 16, 2015 by VintageLegoEra Quote
Captain Pirate Man Posted November 30, 2015 Posted November 30, 2015 How much would you say it coated to Bricklink this ship? Quote
ezaida18 Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 Hi, Just to confirm, are the hull sizes for the Imperial Flagship and Brick Bounty the same size? If so, does that mean I can buy the BB and expand it to the IS by buying some extra Hull parts? Thanks Quote
Kalais Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 Brick bounty is Boat Hull Large Middle 8 x 16 x 2 1/3 with 5 Holes, Item No: 95227 and Imperial flagship is older type Boat Hull Large Middle 8 x 16 x 2 1/3 with 8 or 9 Holes, Item No: 2560 so you won't be able to join them with brick 2x4, but the size is the same Note that Imperial Flagship hull is Dark Brown, and Brick Bount is Reddish Brown. Quote
Captain Dee Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 I think the newer style midsection is better but both will work if you connect them well. The reddish brown of the Brick Bounty might be easier to come by at the moment if you don't have them in dark brown already, but I do think the dark brown looks better. I'm impressed that people are Bricklinking this set, but the market is just insane right now so I understand why. I got mine off ebay but I can't say I love it - it just looks too small to my eyes. But it's still a pretty good ship. Good luck! Quote
Sigolf Brimabane Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 Yeah. I bricklinked it early this year (with some colour substitutions). I enjoyed it for a while, but now I think it looks almost a bit crude. Especially the stern. I don't have it assembled. It lacks the finesse and nice shape of the Black Seas Barracuda (which I have assembled). Still, wish I had gotten it when it was new. I came out of my dark age in late 2012 with the LotR stuff, although I had bought a few of the Kingdoms sets. Quote
ezaida18 Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 Any chance that Lego might come up with a UCS-styled Black Pearl or any other pirate ship for that matter? Quote
Captain Dee Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 I strongly doubt it - but I could be wrong. The big IFS was quite a bit larger than the preceding sets, and when something of high demand commands a price of 5 times the original value to the point that people are willing to BL the thing by parts, a market obviously exists. I just suspect it's a lot smaller market than something like Star Wars. Quote
Legoman123 Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 I think this set should have sleeping barracks for the crew. Quote
