kevkipo Posted April 14, 2015 Posted April 14, 2015 Ninjago, Erebor, Tower of Barad-dur, Cloud Cuckoo Land, and Gotham. Cool. Why is Gotham City in Daylight? Where do you see Erebor? Quote
8BrickMario Posted April 14, 2015 Posted April 14, 2015 (edited) Where do you see Erebor? The warrior statues in the cliff. Unless it's a Mythology/CMF world and those are Spartan Warriors? Edited April 14, 2015 by 8BrickMario Quote
Ordinareo Posted April 14, 2015 Posted April 14, 2015 The warrior statues in the cliff. Unless it's a Mythology/CMF world and those are Spartan Warriors? That is the entrance to Amon Hen Quote
8BrickMario Posted April 14, 2015 Posted April 14, 2015 Okay, that makes sense. I'm not too well-versed in Middle-earth landmarks. Quote
TheBrickPal Posted April 15, 2015 Author Posted April 15, 2015 (edited) Don't forget this beauty: The "bad dude with a helmet" that Wyldstyle described in the trailer as Lord Vortech is definitely the giant figure in the back. Creepy, I must say. Also, Nindroids and Micro Managers confirmed! Edited April 15, 2015 by Puffle Pal26 Quote
Blondie-Wan Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 In-game, anyway! And oliphaunts from Middle-Earth. Hmmm... I wonder whether there might be sets based on this game, aside from the actual game add-on packs... Quote
enkeybo Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 Is it just me or does the "bad dude with a helmet" look like a constraction figure? Quote

Creepy, I must say. Also, Nindroids and Micro Managers confirmed! Oh, that's sweet! But where are the DC villains? (Also the little image editor in me can't help but notice where the image for the smoke in the foreground cuts off abruptly...) ;) Is it just me or does the "bad dude with a helmet" look like a constraction figure? He sure does to me as well, although its unlikely. Also, remember everyone assumed the picture of the "evil space cowboy" last week was Vortech? This looks nothing like him... Unless he has different outfits... Say, I just checked the Dimensions Facebook page, and can't find the villains poster... Where is it from? Edited April 15, 2015 by legozebra Quote

8BrickMario Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 (edited) Oh my gosh. Who knew Orcs, Nindroids, Robo SWATs, Micromanagers, a Cave Troll, Oliphaunts, and Winged Monkeys could make a threatening-looking army? Also, General Kryptor cloned himself. Vortech looks like he'll be awesome. What I wouldn't give for LEGO to somehow make him into a set. Edited April 15, 2015 by 8BrickMario Quote

legonerd54321 Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 (edited) Things I like about this game -The LEGO Movie Characters don't bend their arms and legs. (Look at the Wyldstyle + Benny image) -It has all of the things I like, such as, BTTF, GB(Hopefully), WoZ, Portal(hopefully), etc. -It's all just pure epicness. DraikNova Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 (edited) Vortech kinda looks like he's wearing an Avohkii, but with buck teeth. The constraction aesthetic is something I've got to agree on, honestly. Edited April 15, 2015 by DraikNova Quote

Blondie-Wan Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 I can't help but wonder whether there might be sets released to go along with this - not just the add-on packs for actual gameplay, but full-blown sets that might or might not come with their own RFID elements for use with the game. We could conceivably get sets that mix and match various themes, even licensed ones, like the sets for The LEGO Movie, only taken even farther. I mean, you could have a set with Wyldstyle, Dr. Peter Venkmann and Homer Simpson fighting oliphaunt-riding orcs outside the gates of the Emerald City, for example, or another version of the DeLorean time machine that comes with Wonder Woman and Sensei Wu. Quote
Slurpifier Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 I could imagine that Lego might release sets to coincide with the game (we've obviously seen it with other games, not to sure about the other toys-to-life games though) but I can see that TLG's main aim is to sell the actual game and its elements of character and starter packs, not the sets made to coincide with it. If they do make sets, I can only see a few sets made, nearly as to fish the buyer into purchasing the actual game and starter sets. Quote
Blondie-Wan Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 Well... That would be WB's aim, anyway, since they publish the game. TLG is a toy company, first and foremost, and they definitely want to sell this game, but they also want to sell real, physical sets. Now, they might decide that selling game-themed sets like the ones I described isn't the best way to go about that, and thus opt to just keep on selling sets in single, individual themes, but they do want to sell sets. Really, every LEGO video game can be seen at least in some small part as a means of promoting the brand and selling sets. Quote

Agreed on the oliphaunt part, but I don't see another DeLorean coming as they already have one... And perhaps we could change that to oliphaunt-riding NINDROIDS ;) Edited April 15, 2015 by legozebra Quote
Master_Data Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 Question regarding toys-to-life games: do the RFID chips unlock content stored on the game disc or does the chip contain the information which the game accesses? If it's the former, we probably won't see anymore Ideas sets in Dimensions as they would have to have programed them in now. Quote
Vorkosigan Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 Pretty confident they RFID chips just have a code to unlock the content. It doesn't make sense from a cost standpoint to put much data storage in the toy, also RFID data links are not very high bandwidth to be transferring actual content. Quote
